Fairy Tilda & Moving House

Hi everyone! This will be my last post for a little while, as we are moving house at the moment. We have found somewhere that is nearer to mine and my brother's school, and nearer to family and friends, so we can't wait to move in and are in the process of moving all the furniture over there at the moment. I thought I would post this card I made recently before my computer is moved to the new house, as we won't have internet for about a week at the most.

When I was colouring this image, I thought the colour I used for her hair was a rich brown, but it turned out to be a bit more red than I thought! Oh well, I suppose it contrasts better with the paper like this!

Materials:

Image: Magnolia

Papers: Basic Grey - Porcelain

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Sentiment: Hero Arts

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Flowers: From My Stash

Glitter: Stickles

Cardstock: Bazzil

Swirl Die: Borrowed From My Mum

Pearls: From My Stash

Glimmer Mist: Marshmellow

Grunge Stamp: Stempelglede

I am entering this card into these challenges:

- Our Creative Corner - Your Style

- Stampin' For The Weekend - My Favourite Things

Anyway, I'd better go and finish packing - my room is getting emptier and emptier by the minute! Thanks so much for looking and I'll be back soon hopefully when we've settled into the new house!

Sweet Motivet Fairy

Hello, I hope everyone's having a great weekend and getting into the wintery mood, ha ha! Can you believe I've already bought a Christmas present for my mum?! It's just that I wasn't sure how long it would be in the shop for, so I just decided to go for it and get it a little earlier than everything else, but I won't tell you what it is, as she might read this!

My mum went to NEC in Birmingham to meet up with lots of lovely crafting buddies yesterday, as many of you will have done too, I guess! I decided to sit this one out, but I will hopefully be going in March next year, as I'll hopefully have some birthday money to spend!

While she was there, she bought me a gorgeous Annalee paper pad, full of stunning papers, which I love! Thanks Mum! :)
...And I just had to use some on this card, did you really have to ask?! :D

I am entering my card into these challenges:
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge - 'Make It Vintage'
A Spoonful Of Sugar Challenge - 'Relish To Embellish'
Cupcake Inspirations - Photo Inspiration

Materials:

Sentiment: Stamps Borrowed From My Mum
Colouring: Pro Markers
Glitter: Stickles
Cardstock: Bazzil
Papers: Annalee
Flowers: From My Stash
Lace: From My Stash
Doily: From My Stash
Glimmer Mist: That Special Touch
Here is a close-up of the flowers (decorated with some glimmer mist, pinched from my Mum, hee hee!):

I hope I'm back soon, but I might not have chance to make any cards during this week, as I've got three of my exams coming up, one on Tuesday and two on Thursday, so I'll be revising. I hope everyone had a great Bonfire Night, by the way! There were tons of fireworks around our area, wow!
Anyway, thanks so much for looking and I hope everyone who went to the NEC had a great time and got lots of nice crafty stuff!
Have a nice week! :)

Anniversary Card

Hi everyone! Today I've got my mum and dad's anniversary card to show you, as their anniversary is coming up on Friday.
I went for a more simple card than I usually would, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

I am entering it into this week's Just Magnolia Challenge, where the theme is 'Let's Get Sentimental', so to qualify for the challenge, you must use a sentiment on your card. I tried to make a bit of a feature of the 'LOVE' lettering, so hopefully my card qualifies as 'sentimental'! :)

I am also entering it into this week's Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge, where the theme is turquoise and brown.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Papers: My Mind's Eye
Punch: Martha Stewart
Colouring: Pro Markers
Flower: Handmade Using Retro Punches (See Tutorial On Sidebar)
Swirl Punch: Woodware
Lettering: I Can't Remember
Happiness Stamp: Hero Arts
Gems: From My Stash
Glitter: Stickles

I can't wait until The X Factor starts again tonight, and the final of Big Brother is on Tuesday as well, so there's lots of good TV at the moment! :)

Thank you for looking and keep an eye on my mum for me to make sure she doesn't peek at this blog! :)

Altered Address Book

Hello everyone! Wow, I can't believe I'm posting twice in two days! I've definitely got the cardmaking bug and I've been grabbing every opportunity to make cards!
Today, I've got an address book I've altered to show you. I've made it for my great-grandma, who will be turning 91 on Saturday!

I just bought a little address book from one of my local shops yesterday, I think it only cost me 49p! I covered it in paper on both sides and coloured this cute Tilda to stick on top, with a couple of flowers - nothing over the top, but I thought she might like it to keep her addresses and phone numbers in.
You can't really tell from the picture, but I sprayed it all over with glimmer mist too.

Over at Simon Says Challenge this week, the theme is 'Make A Gift', so I am entering it into that. There are some stunning Design Team projects over there as well, so they're defnitely worth a look! :)
I am also entering the address book into Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, where the theme is 'What Are Little Girls Made Of?', so they are looking for girly projects.
I also made my mum and dad's anniversary card yesterday, so I will be posting that soon! :)
Thanks so much for looking and for the lovely comments you left on my 'pink lemonade' card, I really appreciate it! :)

A Card At Last!

Hi everyone! I'm so glad Friday's here, and I've got a week's holiday now, yay! I'm really looking forward to Tuesday as well, as it's my brother's birthday, so that should be a really good day!

Sorry, I haven't posted in a while. My mojo's been gone a little bit, and my media exam has really taken up loads of time. I did it on Monday and most of it went quite well, so I'm just glad it's out of the way now.

I really love my new Basic Grey Nook and Pantry paper pad, so I couldn't wait to use it again! I'm entering this card into this week's Just Magnolia Challenge, where the theme is 'hot and spicy', which can mean anything from warm colours to summer holidays, so I've used lots or yellows and oranges on my card.

I went a bit overboard with my mum's Glimmer Mist - it sprayed all over the image! Oh well, you can never have too much sparkle, lol!
I can't believe how great the weather has been recently! It's gone a little bit cooler now, but it was fantastic last weekend - perfect for my grandad's wedding and our trip to Legoland, which was brilliant! It's a shame I couldn't take any pictures of the wedding, because the SD card in the camera ran out of memory, but it was a great day, and we'd love to go again in the future!
Thanks for looking, have a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend and hope you enjoy the sunny weather, while it lasts! :)

Charisma Cardz Challenge 35

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a nice evening.

I've just had a go at Rach's fantastic tutorial over on her blog for how to make scrunched-up flowers. I've been meaning to try it for ages but haven't really got round to it, so here's my attempt! I would have used glimmer mist on my flower, like it says in the tutorial, but I don't have any! I had a brainwave though, and I remembered that I have a tin of hair glitter spray in my wardrobe that I put in my hair for special occasions.
You can't really tell from the picture, but I've absolutely drenched my flower in the stuff and I'm quite pleased with the result!

I'm entering my card into this week's Charsima Cardz Challenge, where the theme is swirls and curls. There is an optional extra of hearts, but I'd already made the card when I saw the challenge so I haven't included hearts.

I'm not sure who the image is by, or the sentiment, but the colouring is ProMarkers, the backing papers are K & Co., the swirl stamps and butterfly stamps are borrowed from my mum and the rest of the embellishments are from my stash.

Here is a close-up of the flower before it went on the card:

Thank you for looking, and have a nice week! ;)
