HB 2 U {SSSC274}

Hello friends! I'm back with a card for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. Here is a peek at the sketch:

I started by creating the polka dot background by cutting a sheet of patterned paper to 3-3/4" x 4-1/2" and then cut it at a diagonal about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. That gave me a 1/2" space to stamp my sentiment. I used more patterned paper from the same Echo Park paper pack to make the balloons, which I popped up over both sides of the diagonal. I realized when I edited my photo that I forgot to add strings! Oh well. They'll just be floating in space here.

Be sure to stop by the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Blog where you can see more inspiration from the design team and link up your project too!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

recipe -
stamps: birthday bash sentiments (pti)
paper: primitive white (mft), all about a boy 6x6 (echo park)
ink: blueberry (mft)
accessories: balloons stax die-namics (mft), foam tape

Hello, Sunshine {SSSC273}

Good morning and happy Sunday! I'm back with a new Sweet Sunday Sketch and I even broke out my Copic Markers for this one.

First, take a peek at this week's sketch:

And here is my take on it:

Please excuse my phone photo here - my computer, with all my photo editing software and watermarks is in the shop for the time being, and so this will have to do. It bugs me. A. Lot.

Anyway - I loved coloring this sweet Birdie Brown image from Sunflower Sweetheart. She just oozes summertime. I flipped the sketch so that the image was facing towards all the fun little elements. I stamped her in Black Licorice Hybrid ink and then colored her with Copics (haven't used them in a LONG time). I tried to make her hat look like with was woven. Did it work? Meh. Sort of. Ha!

I stamped the sentiment on one of the Conversation Bubbles from W Plus 9, which I shortened up just a bit to fit the sentiment a little better.

Please hop on over to the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge blog for a peek at all the cards the design team made this week - you can also link up your creation there as well!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

recipe -

ink: black licorice hybrid (mft), copic markers
accessories: pierced rectangle stax die-namics (mft), stitched circle stax die-namics (mft), conversation bubbles die (w plus 9), berrylicious button (mft), white perle thread, foam tape

Sunshine In My Soul {SSSC272}

Hello there! After a much needed break from stamping, I am up and running this week! The end of the school year with added dance practices/recital and soccer tournaments really packs a punch, and I needed to give myself more room to breathe, so thank you so much for being patient with me *wink*. I've seen so many gorgeous techniques out there that a want to try too! I feel left behind. Ha ha!

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch:

My card is pretty basic and clean - I let the die cuts do all the talking, which makes a quick and easy card and hopefully I will catch up to my creative mojo soon.

The card base is Summer Splash (SWOON) and I added the Floral Fusion Die-namics over the top to add a little texture and interest. I was going to stamp a background, but I liked this better today. I used  a Vertical Stitched Strips Die-namics in Lemon Chiffon, but I shortened the strip about 1/4" so it fit my card layout a little better. You can see this technique here.

For the sentiment panel I used the Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics (I can't wait to use this one more - yum!) and added the sentiment from Cheerful Blessings in Smoke ink and a Persimmon butterfly from the new Flutter of Butterflies - Lace Die-namics set. I'm so glad it's summer!!

That's it for me today - please be sure to stop by the Sweet Sunday Sketch blog to see all the beautiful cards the team has made this week. You can also add your project there as well. I hope you'll play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Blessing to Me {SSSC267}

Hello there! Happy weekend to you. It is time for another sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - here's a peek:

For this one, I changed up the star element to the Hibiscus Die-namics from MFT. I cut out the blossoms from Persimmon and Orange Fizz card stock and then added some Green Room card stock leaves. I used a stylus to round out the leaves and petals so they have a more dimensional look to them. The flower center is Lemon Drop along with a few little black enamel dots. I stamped the sentiment from PTI's Signature Greetings in Black Licorice ink, and left it at that. I feel like it needs more, but my procrastination on this one is making me leave it as is. Ha! It will have to do.

That's it for me today - please stop over and visit the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge blog, where you can find card samples from the team and you may link up your project there as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello, hello! It's Sunday! Time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Here's a look at this week's layout:

As you can see, I changed it up a bit and used the Classy Label Die instead of a rectangle, I thought  it would be fun to switch up the straight lines. I added the sentiment from Bloom & Grow and then stamped some of the flower and leaf images from that set as well. Love those leaves!

Sweet Baby {SSSC264}

Well, hello there! I hope you are enjoying your weekend and staying out of trouble *wink*. I have a very non-traditional baby card for you this week - I just can't do pink and green and blue and all those pastels all the time, so I switched it up.

First, here's a look at the new sketch - I really, REALLY love this one. It's got the wonky panel without being wonky on all 4 sides. You're welcome. Ha ha!

I started with some patterned paper from My Mind's Eye (an oldie!) for all the background elements and then I cut out the stitched circle in Smooth White card stock. The sentiment is from Treasured Words and I added some Dreamy Leaves and Tangy Orange buttons on the side.

That's it for me today.

Hop on over to the Sweet Sunday Sketch Blog to take a peek at all cards from the design team and you can link up your project there as well. Happy stamping!

You're My Hero {SSSC262}

Hello and happy, happy weekend! I'm here with another fun card for the new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. Here's a look at the sketch:

There are so many possibilities with this one. I happened to flip it horizontally in order to work with the image a little better. I inked up You're Super from My Favorite Things and actually colored with my Copics again! What? Yep.

The card base is Sno Cone card stock and I added a little strip of X-Press It Blending card stock with the Diagonal Stripes background in Fog ink. I also cut out the girl and the fun sentiment element in X -Press It card stock and then stamped the image in Black Licorice Hybrid ink. The Pinking Edge Circle Die-namics is sponged with Tangy Orange, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop and Banana Split inks an then I stamped the buildings in Black Licorice ink for the silhouette. The little enamel dots are from the Birthday Boy assortment by Doodlebug Design.

Happy You're My Friend {SSSC261}

This week absolutely flew by! It must be the warmer weather, right? I feel like stamping flowers and bright, happy colors all the time right now. Might as well go with it until the flowers finally bloom here in my brown, dormant yard.

I'm back with this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - yay! Here's a peek at the sketch:

For this card I used the Reflections stamp set from Paper Smooches and I stamped the leaves in Factory Green ink and then filled in the blossoms randomly.  The sentiment is from Flowers On My Mind by Simon Says Stamp, which I simply stamped on a strip of Smooth White card stock. Easy peasy!

You've Been On My Mind {SSSC260}

Good morning! I have a new card for you, using Sweet Sunday Sketch SSSC260.  I love the wonky panel - it's so perfect for a piece of patterned paper.  Here's a look at the sketch -

My Kit of the Month from Simon Says Stamp arrived this week and I couldn't wait to use this delicious paper! Yellow, grey, and black is scrumptious! The kit came with journaling cards, so I used one of those with the flower trio on it for the main panel. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with white super fine powder. Yum! I also added a few enamel dots (not with the kit, but perfectly delicious) to fill up some of the white space.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 259 - and a CHANGE

Hello and happy Sunday! I have an exciting announcement for you today - as of this very moment, the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge has moved to its very own blog!

I am so very grateful to the SSSC team for all of their help in getting this move completed smoothly and I do hope you will enjoy the new space. Hop on over and check it out HERE. You will be able to post your challenge cards and projects over there.

Since we have a new place for the SSSC, you will be able to see all of the Sweet Sunday Stampers' designs all in one place, which will certainly inspire your creativity through the week.

We will also be showcasing some of our favorite cards each Wednesday, so be on the lookout for that new feature! We are very excited about that.

This week, the challenge is to create a new card using a sketch favorite from all of the past sketches. It's SO difficult to choose just one! I thought I'd go way, way back and use sketch SSSC83.  You can find all of the past sketches at the SSSC Flickr page.

I have always been a complete sucker for flower and leaf dies, so this sketch is one of my absolute favorites.

The card base is 4-3/4" square and I'm using patterned paper from Cut & Paste "Adorbs" and "Presh" by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is from Cheerful Blessings and I stamped it in Nightshift Blue ink. I used the Flower Medley Die-namics set for the blossoms and the Leafy Branch die for the greenery. Love that combo!

Don't forget to stop by the Sweet Sunday Sketch Blog, where you can find all the details and the link-up for your project.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
