verve for a cause

I'm on to another challenge for Stampin' Out Alzheimer's today and this one is to win some yummo Verve stamps! You can check out the challenge here. I'm also using this week's Color Throwdown - Bordering Blue, Elegant Eggplant, and Barely Banana, which is funny because I still had Elegant Eggplant cardstock on my desk from the last Color Throwdown, haha!

See you back soon!
Karen

recipe -

ink: elegant eggplant
paper: bordering blue, elegant eggplant, barely banana, whisper white cardstock
accessories: gold brads, so saffron grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch, stampin' dimensionals

a little help from my favorite places

I seem to have lost some mojo over the weekend and so I hopped over to Clean & Simple Stamping and Color Throwdown for a little jumpstart. Boy am I so glad I did! I'm combining the challenges for today. This week the colors are Lovely Lilac, Elegant Eggplant, and Old Olive - I am so surprised how lovely they look together! I don't think I've touched Lovely Lilac since someone had a special order for it a long time ago. The sketch is FTL43 and it's a lovely one (well, they are always awesome!).
I stamped the flower from Eastern Blooms in Lovely Lilac and then colored sections of it with my Elegant Eggplant Stampin' Write marker. To add a little dimension to the flower, I added some rhinestones and Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to the center. I just used a tiny dab of Tombo Multi Adhesive to add the Tiny Twinkles to the flower.

Thanks for stopping by!
Karen

color inspiration 28

This week's color challenge from Kristina is Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, Sage Shadow (which is making quite the comeback!) and Whisper White. She always finds the greatest colors, so that keeps me from using pink and brown all the time, ha! Go over and check out her blog if you haven't had a chance - she's an amazing artist and you won't be disappointed.
This card was pretty quick to make - the scallop edge punch is a lifesaver! No more tedious punching with the corner rounder to make a scallop edge - yay! The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder to make it show up brighter on the darker paper.
Have a fantastic Wednesday and I'll see you back here tomorrow afternoon.

Karen
