My invisible dog

Better late than ever, here's my attempt at Eva Mendes' girly outfit, worn today, Tuesday with the lovely Inspiration Monday ladies at the Two birds boutique! Sans canine companion.  I ended up wearing clothes to school on Monday that had been in my camping suitcase since I didn't go home (due to the DEADLINE) and when I got home, a) I was too tired b) it seemed far too silly just to put on an outfit for photos!

I managed to include a thrifted item in the form of this Next skirt, bought a few years ago- I like it because the pattern on the skirt looks like Javanese kain!  Plus it's the safest wrap-around skirt I've ever experienced (you know, sometimes, they have a life of their own!)

Contribution to the wardrobe zoo clan (Alex, Char...) in the form of this headband (since Eva was wearing one, I thought this one went nicely) with this deer headband.

I've just returned from my first orchestra rehearsal of the season.  Rather nice with a Beethoven symphony and a great piece that was written for us a couple of years ago.  Exciting that the new flautist playingwith me is related to Michael Morpurgo, my favourite kids author!  Lucky her!  Getting the train late at night is always a bit of a gamble- more often than not, some one will be sitting opposite you eating some heinous-smelling cornish pasty (from the Cornish Pasty co) or a Burger King.  This fine, as I often need to eat things on the go and I understand, but it's often a bit smelly and often accompanied by loud conversation on an i-pphone or outrageous conversation with their companions.  Occasionally, this can be annoying but sometimes, the people, though loud, are genuinely nice people who it's really fun to chat to.  Tonight, this pretty girl was making conversation with some student from Manchester who'd just moved here.  When her companion threw his chip-bag on the floor, I looked up slightly disapprovingly.  Somehow, after this, I got involved in the conversation with the girl who was really nice.  At the second stop, a tall, handsome guy got on the train.  They immediately started chatting to him.  Talk led on and he said that he was a High-jumper who'd been in 3 Olympics.  When probed, he mentioned some famous sporting people and having been on Total Wipeout.  She called him a namedropper jokingly and he said to check him out on twitter.  It turned out we were sitting opposite this guy.  He was really nice.  Funny how that can happen!  Funnily enough, he got off at my station- you never know who lives near you!   Anyway, it was nice to have a 'fun' late-night train experience!  I'd forgotten about them!

Apart from that, after having a horrid start to my day (work related, which I wont go into), I had a nice day! How was yours?

Oh and go and check out the other Inspiration Monday flock here
