Twofer Card Challenge #11

Welcome to the November Twofer Card Challenge! This month we want to see what you can do with your wreath stamps, dies, or stencils. Yes, you read that right, Darnell added stencils to make it easier.

I don't have many wreaths stamps or dies, and no wreath stencils. I picked this older stamp from Hero Arts that I think I have never used before and made a Christmas card and a birthday card with it.

Stamps: Hero Arts (wreath), Stamplorations (sentiment)
Dies: Simon Says Stamp (butterfly), Nestabilities (circles)
Other: Cuttlebug (embossing folder strip)

The butterfly and the dark circle are actually purple even though the look almost black on the screen...

Just realized that this card fits the current CAS Mix Up Challenge
My choice is die cutting.

Stamps: Hero Arts (wreath), WPlus9 (sentiment)
Dies: WPlus9 (sentiment), Simon Says Stamp (little star), big star unknown

The pink is sparkle paper. Hard to see on the photo.

Every month it's such a pleasure to see what you do with the prompt word! Have fun playing with your wreaths, be it a stamp, die, or stencil! Can't wait to see your creations in the gallery!

Twofer Card Challenge #10

Happy October! Hope it started out well for you and that you are ready for this month's  Twofer Card Challenge #10 ! The word prompt is

Remember it's about making two cards for two different occasions using the same stamp or die and taking a picture of both cards together!

I gathered a basket full of crisp apples for you! The stamp is from a very old Stampin' Up set that I have never used but I felt it was perfect for the theme. I had lots of fun coloring it in using colored pencils on kraft and brush markers on white.

Here I added a little bird from the same set to the scene. The oval die cuts are from Gina Marie Designs.

The sentiment on this card is a gift from a dear bloggie friend. It's German and means something like "Best Wishes". It went to her for her recent birthday. I had admired the stamp one day on her blog but unfortunately it was no longer available. Months later she discovered it on eBay, ordered it, and sent it to me! Crafty friends are the best!
By the way the green strip is more Washi tape! If I continue like that I will soon run out, hehehe!

If you haven't checked out my teamies fabulous creations hop on over to the Twofer Card Challenge. This months guest designers are Crafty Linby and Liz ! Please be so kind to leave them all some love!

I can't wait to see what you will be harvesting and sharing in our gallery! Happy crafting!

Twofer Card Challenge #8

Another month went by and it's time for a new Twofer Challenge! Visiting the gallery last month really made me thirsty! Thanks to all who played along!

This month we would like to see you using geometric shapes. As always you have to use the same die or stamp to make two different cards for two different occasions.

I chose to play with my new (to me) Altenew triangle stamps and dies. I made a birthday card for my younger son who just turned 15! He loved the cool geometric design.

The second card is an encouragement card. I used the same tiny triangle die for the sun that I used for the silver accents on the birthday card. I also used some of the same stamps to make clouds. What do you say? There are no triangle shaped clouds in your neck of the woods? That's strange...

Stamps: Altenew (triangles), PTI (sentiment)
Dies: Altenew (triangles)

Stamps: Altenew (triangles), Hero Arts (sentiment), PSX (swirl in the sun)
Dies: Altenew (triangles)

Twofer Card Challenge #7

We just returned from our yearly trip to Germany to visit family and friends and it is already time for the new Twofer Card Challenge! I especially enjoyed seeing the gallery last month filled with creative tree cards! This month the word prompt is

It doesn't matter if this makes you think of cold, refreshing or warm, comforting drinks, alcohol or soda - it's up to you (and your supplies)!

I played with the sweet tea set from Uniko. I really love tea (one of my favorites is a good Earl Grey) and wish that we had a place here that served a proper English tea with little sandwiches, etc. While in Germany I met a good friend at a tea house there. That was fun! Anyway here are my cards:

For the birthday card I embossed the cup with Antique Gold from SSS, added the flowers, colored them a little und cut the cup out. I backed it with a punched out oval of lavender colored vellum, added a layer of PP featuring little cupcakes, and an embossed panel. I was going for a Victorian look...

Stamps: Uniko (tea cup), SSS (sentiment)
Dies: PTI (border), SSS (banner)
Other: Taylored Expressions (embossing folder)

To make my other card look different, I stamped, colored and cut out three cups, added white enamel dots, and stacked them together. Added a bit of stenciling in the background, some Washi tape, and a sentiment from the tea set.

Stamps: Uniko (tea cup, sentiment)
Other: PTI (stencil), Washi tape

Now it's your turn! Which type of beverage will you choose?

Please find all the rules and lots of inspiration from my teamies as well as our two fantastic guest designers, Bonnie and Marianne on the Twofer Card Challenge blog

Twofer Challenge #6

Are you ready for the Twofer Challenge #6? This month we want to see what you can do with trees!

I love trees. For me that's reason enough to buy every tree stamp and die I can! Just for fun I counted all the tree stamps I own and the result was 62!!!! And I was NOT even counting Christmas trees or any trees I might have in my NBUS box... Wow! I didn't expect that! Do you think I need therapy?
Of course that made the decision which tree to use really hard. What helped me was that I needed a retirement card and had this idea to use all four seasons on one tree. So I thought of this tree from Sarasota Stamps that comes with an extra foliage stamp (picture further down).

Stamps: Sarasota Stamps (tree and foliage), Avery Elle (sentiment), Impression Obsession (nest, apples)
Other: Snowflake (punch)

I used the foliage stamp to create a border. The card is 5 x 7 inches.

Stamps: Sarasota Stamps (tree), Hero Arts (cat, bats), Impression Obsession (spiderweb background)

On this card I used glossy paper for the panel and Distress Inks to create the background.

This is the tree stamp with the foliage stamp from Sarasota Stamps. I bought it many years ago at a convention I used to go to with my friends. I googled it and it's still available!

Here is a reminder what this Challenge is all about. For the exact rules and to check out the creations of the fabulous design team plus our guest designer Maria Rodriguez please click here.

Looking very much forward to seeing your cards in the gallery!

Twofer Card Challenge #5

Yay! It's time for a new Twofer Challenge! I loved seeing all your adorable pet cards in the gallery. This month we are wondering what you can do with your butterfly stamps or dies.

Stamps: PTI (sentiment), flowers unknown
Dies: PTI (butterfly)

Dies: PTI (butterfly), Gina Marie (stitched oval), My Favorite Things (scalloped rectangle)

The vellum was actually part of the packaging of fancy chocolates or something. Loved the textured pattern on it. Here i a close up so you can see it better:

Remember to use the same butterfly stamp or die to make two different cards for two different occasions. Then upload a picture featuring both cards in the same photo. Find more details and all the rules over at the Twofer Card Challenge blog. Can't wait to be blown away by all your creations!

I am going to enter the first card in the

Twofer Card Challenge #4

It is time for a new prompt at the Twofer Card Challenge and this month we would like to see:

For more details and the rules please click here.

I have to admit that I was a bit stumped with this one. My vast collection of stamps and dies is seriously lacking in the pet department. I guess I ended up being inspired by the funny stories my coworker told us about her pet bunny. He had such an distinct personality! Sadly he passed on last year but she just got an adorable little bunny girl and the cute pictures my coworker shows us makes me want to get one, too! So my cards feature the sweet bunny from Uniko:

Stamps: Uniko (bunny, sentiment), My Sentiments Exactly (dot), Stampscapes (birds)
Other: Marco's Paper (cloud paper), Punches (grass, flower)

Stamps: Uniko (bunny, sentiment), Hero Arts (background)
Dies: SSS (hearts)

Hope to see you in the gallery! I always learn so much from your creative takes on our prompt word!

Twofer Card Challenge 3

Thank you again for the many creative and inspiring entries in our heart challenge last month! Are you ready for the third Twofer Challenge? If you live in the northern hemisphere and you are getting a bit tired of winter you might be especially thrilled to play with our prompt this month:

I picked the Altenew set "Wild Hibiscus" and made a muted, monochromatic sympathy card and a very bright and tropical "Hello" (Aloha is Hawaiian for hello) card.

Stamps: Altenew (Wild Hibiscus), Papertrey Ink (sentiment)
Die: SSS (stitched rectangles)

What can I say? Just love grey. With white. And the sentiment on vellum.

Stamps: Altenew (Wild Hibiscus), sentiment unknown
Other: Papertrey Ink (stencil), washi tape, embossing paste

I had the stenciled panel and one orange blossom on my desk and they put me in the mood to go totally tropical! It's fun to look at this colorful card, especially during those grey winter months. I also enjoy the contrast between of the graphic patterns and the softer flowers. I stamped them on watercolor paper using Distress Inks and the colored them using the same inks.

ETA: Greta kindly pointed out that the second card would work for the current

Time Out Challenge #104 "Bold"
and it's true, it certainly is bold, hehe...

Now be sure to check out the amazing creations of my team mates! And for the first time we have a guest designer: Verna Angerhofer who won the January challenge! Please leave her some love! And then play along!
