Merry Christmas

Just wanted to pop in and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with many happy moments! Thank you so much for all your visits and sweet comments on this blog! I appreciate them more than you can imagine. Also, I wanted to apologize for the silence here and hope to be able to post more regularly after the holidays.

By the way, you might have already heard that the one and only Darnell is starting her own Challenge Blog and has invited me to her Design Team!!! I am so honored and beyond excited! Check out all the details on the Twofer Card Challenge Blog! The first challenge starts January 10th - mark your calendars!

Stamps: Picture Show (snowy village), Winnie & Walter (sentiment)
Other: Embossing folder strip (Cuttlebug?)

The layer looks black on screen but is navy blue. Also this photo was sharp in my iPhoto but now looks not really focused. Hope it will look better on your screens...

Be well and keep in touch!

The Year of the Rooster

Happy Lunar New Year! Today starts the Year of the Rooster. I know that I am late and the day is almost over. I should have planned this post better but oh well, I am going to show you the card I made for this occasion anyway. It's very CAS.

Stamps: Picture Show (rooster), JudiKins (calligraphy background)
Dies: Spellbinders (circles)

The card is cream colored because I found white too stark.

My blogging friend Izzy who also posted a card for this occasion (check it out here, it is phenomenal) used the same color scheme and described why:
Red is the traditional color for the Lunar New Year. It announces a happy event and is a symbol of prosperity and happiness.
Gold is a symbol of nobility and wealth.
Black is a symbol of strength, nobility, and honesty.

I made my card a week ago and sent it out already so it would arrive by today. I did not copy Izzy's color scheme but used it intuitively. Izzy's card is much more spectacular. Check it out!

This excerpt is from an email my acupuncturist sent out:

Rooster qualities – commitment, loyalty, honesty and outspokenness – can help us all in 2017. The Rooster’s vivacious and charming energy draws people to them and they can be quite influential. In 2017 with Rooster energy abound, we can all be change-makers.

All my best wishes for a happy year of the Rooster!

Be well,

Happy Easter 2016

Hello my friends,

Just popping in to wish you all a Happy Easter full of sunshine, laughter, good food, and plenty of chocolate!

Stamps: Hero Arts (sunburst), Avery Elle (alphabet), Stampin' Up (pattern on the mountains), Picture Show (dots on the hills)
Dies: My Favorite Things (snow drifts as hills), Nestabilities (circle as sun)
Other: Flowers (cheapo punch), mountains and banner (cut them myself)

I once saw a similar card somewhere and drew a little sketch. Even though I spent a ridiculous amount of time searching this vast web I couldn't find it anywhere. If you know who had the original idea please tell me so I can give credit!
Since I more or less CASEd this card I am not going to enter it in any challenges. I am just going to show you, my dear regular readers, in the hopes that you have an enjoyable holiday weekend!
Thank you so much for all your visits be they silent or with an encouraging comment!

Mwah!

Asian Bird

Today's card is for The Male Room Challenge #28 "Oriental".
Don't use mulberry paper very often any more... Still like the look, though. Do you even know what mulberry paper is? Raise your hand if you still have some in your stash...

Stamps: Picture Show (bird frame), calligraphy unknown

ETA: This card won Honorable Mention at The Male Room!

And now I have the pleasure to welcome a new follower:

Hettie from Hettiecraft

If you don't know her already, go and visit her blog. Check out her Friday funnies - they always put a grin on my face!
My welcome quote for you, Hettie, is by Lao Tzu to match the asian them of today's card:

Kindness in words creates confidence.
Kindness in thinking creates profoundness.
Kindness in giving creates love.

A new feature on my blog!

I am so excited because I figured out how to add social media buttons. If you get this post via email or a reader you have to go directly on my blog to see them (on the right).
I have decided to put all my cards on my Pinterest account to make it easier to look for a specific card. Also I am planning to use my Instagram account to post cards. And Keep In Touch has a facebook page (also not very active so far). Check it out and follow me!

If you made it this far - thank you so much!

Wishing you a fun filled weekend,
Susanne

Happy Birthday, Bev!

Today is Bev's birthday and this is the card I sent her! Hope it got there on time! I assume you all know her blog "Happy Dance", but if you don't, take some time to visit! You won't regret it but come back inspired! Bev is also one of the sweetest girls in blogland and her comments always lift me up!
Also check out the magnificent party that Anita organized for Bev over at mypapercraftworld! I am heading back over there to get more of the mouthwatering food!

Bev, I hope you have a fantastic day and are showered with love by your family and friends!

Hello for the "Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge #46" / Happy Little Stampers

Most of you probably have heard of and even played with the "Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge" where Taheerah posts a fabulous picture every Monday for us to get inspired by! I finally managed to play along this week even if it's just before the door closes! Don't you just love all the grays and yellows with white and a little black?

The pillow with the bird caught my eye. It reminded me of the bird punch from Stampin' Up.

Stamps: Technique Tuesday (sentiment), Picture Show (dots)
Punch: Stampin' Up (bird)
Stencil: SSS

It looked a little bland on a white card so I took the diagonal stripes stencil from SSS and sponged Barely Banana on the front.

Challeges:

Your visits and comments make my day, so thank you!

Hugs,
Susanne
