Das doppelte Lottchen #166

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

Lottie and Lisa means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today I made a wish, and it is:

Sweet Stamp Shop - Hippo

&

Background made with tiny stamps

I am totally in a pirates-mood lately, so I went for the hippo with the pirate's hat. I found a small skull-stamp in an older Simon Says Stamp stamp set that I hardly ever used and created this background - I think it turned out super fun!
The text stamp says "Hey Landlubber" and is from an upcoming Create A Smile stamp set.

Now hop over to Anni's blog to find her creation :) She'll knock your socks off ;)

Thanks for viisting!

Das doppelte Lottchen #163 (three of them)

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

Lottie and Lisa means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today I made a wish, and it is:

Memory Box Large Circle Burst Die

&

minimal coloring

Okay, I admit, I don't knoe what I was thinking when I came up with this challenge. I clearly had something in mind, but I just couldn't remember. So today I have three cards for you - from a very mininmal layout to a busy one, but all of them only have a little bit of coloring on them :)

The first card is the most minimal one. I used the die to create a stencil and inked some white pigment ink onto my kraft cardstock. The fox got a tiny bit of Polychromos coloriing.

Not coloring as much as I normally would  - so not coloring the best I could - freaked me out and I wasn't too pleased with the result, so I decided to make another one:

The second card got a more interesting Layout, is still pretty CAS and only has a bit of coloring because these images only need very little color. I liked how this turned out but thought I might try again...

The third card is super busy with lot of diecutting and stamping Action. Is has lots of dimension, different Textures and still not too much coloring:

Hoewever, I feel like I colored to much oneach of the cards, so I think I cheated on my own challenge - so sorry! Hope you liked the cards anyway!

Now hop over to Anni's blog to find her creation :) She'll knock your socks off ;)

Thanks for viisting!

Sweet Stamp Shop - Monster Mash

&

embossed Vellum

Well, this is actually prety funny - I picked this challenge before I knew that there would be the online card class Clear & Sheer - what a nice coincident!

For my color scheme I was inspired by the paper from the Upcoming Beach Party Kit from create A Smile (oh boy, you're gonna LOVE it! and if you want to see sneak peeks on products hop over to the facebook-event page ;) )

Everything else came together pretty quickly:

This card pops! Bright colors are just right up my alley and I knew this card would be fun.
I just love the little monsters by Sweet Stamp Shop! The German sentiment says "Little monster wishes" and is by Create A Smile.

Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Sweet Stamp Shop - Happy Birthday
&
not a square, nor a round shaped card.

Well, maybe I cheated a bit on that one  it's half of a rectangle and partially rounded, but I think this might be ind of a shaped card ;)
I cut that wavey window with my Silhouette, stamped and colored the boat from Create A Smile - Underwaterlove and added some clouds and twine. Super simple, but in some way eye-catching. Some drops od glossy accents are my finishing touch.

Hope you like the card - it's time to hop over to Anni's blog to see what she created.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Today I made a wish, and it is:

Sweet Stamp Shop - Hedgehog Kiss

Translucent embossing past

Sweet Stamp Shop - Hedgehog Kiss
und
Translucent embossing paste

I kept my card pretty simple - blended some Distress ink over a heart-stencil and on the backgroun piece, added the embossing paste on top of the stencil and that's pretty much it. Stamping, coloring, fuzzy cutting, assembling - done!

Stempeln, colorieren, ausschneiden, zusammenkleben - fertig!

Now hop over to see Anni's wonderful creation! Thanks for your visit!

I used the starfish for my card,s tamped is a few times and added some fancy stuff from the "Too Hip" stamp set. The background was created with Distress inks to create a underwater-scene.
Party like a STARfish - any questions? ;)

I played with the Lots Of Stars Stencil, Used it to ink the background and also to add Clear Embossing on top of the inked areas. Love that effect! See the sentiment? It means "Come on, freak out!" and might be a little sneak peek of a set that will be released in January.... but shhhhht!

create your own embellishment

I used the Koalas, gave them hat's from Create A Smile's Friends In The Woods set  and put them into some ornaments. I also created the background using the Create A Smile Ornaments Stencil. I colored the Koalas and the ornaments with copics and gave them a thick layer of glossy accents (that's why I'm late - it just wouldn't dry!) I think this counts as an embellishment, right?! :)
The sentiment is from Smiling Snowflakes.

Sweet Stamp Shop - grey cards for grey days

Hi there,

today I am bringing inspiration to the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog again.
I spend some thoughts on empathy when creating "feel better" cards and ended up with monochromatic grey card. You can find all the thoughts on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog.

I'd love to share the cards that I made:

Don't you just love the look of monochromatic grey scenes? They always remind me of old photos.

The second one is not that much of a scene, but I still love it :)

Tickling Tuesday #25 - A Card with personal gift vouchers

Hey peeps,
Time for a new Tickling Tuesday!
What's Tickling Tuesday?
Every tuesday I'll try to tickle your mojo with another video. Hope you like it and have fun!

Hallo Leute!
Zeit für Tickling Tuesday!
Was ist Tickling Tuesday?

Some time ago there was a 40% off - event for the silhouette store and I "bought" tons of stuff - not knowing if I would ever use it (I subscribed for one year anyway). Along all those files there were some ticket shapes that I liked - but in fact I never used a ticket on a card before. I cut out some shapes yesterday and filles the page with things that I would like to use - like the tickets.
I did not have any idea in mind when I cut them out yesterday, but I decided to get tickled by them for today's Tickling Tuesday. I drew a sketch and wrote down ideas this time - and this is the result:

In the video I explain how you can create ticket shapes easily without a plotter or a die - it's pretty easy.
I am really really happy how this turned out and how the bright colors pop against the white background. Hope you like it, too!

Creating Sweet things with shrink plastic!

Hi there,

are you enjoying summer? It's pretty hot over here right now (FINALLY!) and I feel tired but good with all the sun and heat.

It's my turn at the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog again and I thought I go a bit out of the Box. So I created some earring with shrink plastic. I know - this is not a new technique at all, but this was the first time ever that I used shrink plastic and I instantly fell in love. You can find a tutorial on the Sweet Stamp Blog. There are the earrings that I created:

If you think "uhm, the lines are not criss" - you're right! I talked about that on the Sweet Stamp Shop as well ;) But I still love those, although I don't wear jewelry unless it's made from natural stuff like wood, stone, bone...  ;) Well, those little cuties are going to fly to Australia, because my sweet friend Linda loves them. :)

Shrink plastic shrinks a LOT if you heat it. Look at the difference:

beforeafter

The colors get darker, more bold and the plastic gets way thicker and more sturdy. Very very cool!

I know I'm going to make some meeples out of shrink plastic and with cute stamps. I always wanted to create my own board game. I'll just dab a bit of hot glue onto my Ranger non-stick craft sheet and hold the meeple in it to have it standing. Ha!

Should I share a tutorial on that, too?

I will also make a cute Keyring for my work-key. (I think it's more than 20 keys... ugh!) but that's pretty close to what I did with the fox. Oh, by the way - this is Foxy from the sweet stamp shop - one of my favorite images ever - so so cute!

Foxyweb__88796.1391283490.386.513

Okay, that's it for now. Hop over to the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog to see the entire tutorial. :)

Have a great sunny week-end!

How I take my videos

It's my turn to bring some inspiration to the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog today.

For this post I decided not to focus on a project, but show you how I record my videos, because I've been asked a few times.
I have detailed information on all the steps at the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog, but let me show you the pictures:

It's as simple as it looks and sounds.
Well, that's how I take my videos, here's one short little video with a moving fart that I created with Stinky Skunk. (Sorry, that's just my stupid sense of humour - it really made me giggle!). I just love that guy!
There are more videos on my YouTube Channel, so you can get an impression on the angle, light, shadows - and to be inspired :)

Video for Sweet Stamp Shop: Colouring with pencils

This is my 2nd post for today. For the tAWS Blog Hop Please scroll down.

Hey there, time for another video! :)
It's my turn to bring some inspiration to the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog today. They just have so many adorable and versatile images - I am IN LOVE!
Well, my blog readers know I m ade a card using colored pencils on kraft some time ago. So I thought I could make a video from that. Well - uhm... the card did not turn out like I had expected and if I did it again I'd change up a few thing, but anyways - I'll try to give you some tips.
First of all, this is the card that I'm talking about:

Well, not TOO bad, but there are a few things I think I would change about this:
  • Give it more dimension (for example by cutting our one of the "poofs" - especially the red one)
  • Find a better placement for the sentiment. It's busy with three fonts/sizes, so It should not be spread across the card like that.
  • take more time to blend the colors. I was in my hurry-video mode which is stupid because I speed it up anyway ;)
  • get a more balanced placement for the sequins, maybe.
But there also also thing that I like about that card:
  • The imaged make SENSE in combination with that sentiment - they tell a story.
  • The red cloud stands out by color, shadow and glosssy accents
  • Those colours look beautiful on the kraft cardstock
  • The sequins match the coloring.
So, there we're some hints of DOS and DONTS already, right? Let's get to the video:

Do I love this card? Probably not, but I love the idea and the images. They ARE funny, right? I love those faces! So I'd still dare to give this card away :)
I collected some tips on colouring with pencils on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog, so hop over to learn more about my pencils (and the history we have), their use and what you have to keep in mind.

Do you ever take your cards, look at them and try to analyze what you'd love to change about them? This is one of the ways I learned most in this paper crafting world. Looking at cards (sometimes my own, sometimes cards from around the web) and I try to figure out what distracts the balance. Try it out - you'll learn a LOT this way!

Thanks a lot for stoppin' by - I hope you enjoyed this trial and error tutorials. I sure did!

Tickling Tuesday #20 - a Pop-up-slider card

Hi everyone!
Time for a new Tickling Tuesday!
What's Tickling Tuesday?
Every tuesday I'll try to tickle your mojo with another video. Hope you like it and have fun!

Hallöchen!
Zeit für Tickling Tuesday!
Was ist Tickling Tuesday?

For today I decided to create a Silhouette cutting file for pop-up-slider cards and share this file with you. I've done cards like this by hand before. It's not VERY difficult and you could also print out this picture and use it as a template if you do not have a Silhouette. But attention: German cards are not exact the same size like US-cards, so you might have to reduce the lenght a bit. In Silhouette Studio just mark everything and resize both parts at the same time to keep the proportions. (This template is made for DNA6 cards)

(Click on the image to get to the download /

This is the card that I created using the super duper cute Koalas from Sweet Stamp Shops Set Koala. I added some tiny pompoms (they're easy to make - you'll find out if you watch the video!) and colored with Delta Markers. Cuute, right?
