Bokeh Rose

Hi and welcome!  I am the sketch hostess this week over at Freshly Made Sketches and I have to admit I made the sketch fit this card that I had made some months ago and never posted!

I used pink, yellow and peachy inks to create a blended background and then went over it with a bokeh stencil to create a soft-looking background.  I then die-cut an arch frame from white cardstock and adhered that to the base.

For the rose, I started with white cardstock and ink-blended the same colours onto the various layers, adding greens for the stems.  When I was assembling the rose, I used foam tape in between each of the layers for added dimension.

I finished with a simple gold hot-foiled birthday sentiment.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the way the rest of the design team have used my sketch.
I'm linking this card up to the Anything Goes Die Challenge at Just Us Girls as well as the Mark Your Mark challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More (ink-blending on background and rose).

All You Need

I'm back for another year with the Tic-Tac-Toe team and for today's card, I went down the centre with Designer Paper - Red - Free to come up with this card.

The designer paper is from an unknown company as it was a freebie with an order I placed.  I die-cut it with a scallop die and adhered it to a white card base.  I then added some red ribbon and topped that with a stitched ric-rac die-cut.  I then set about finding a sentiment and though this one fit nicely.  I also die-cut some music notes and added them to the card.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you'll head over to the challenge blog and give it a go.

Products used:

Stamps:  All You Need is Love (Taylored Expressions)
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Cardstock:  White, Rouge (Altenew), unknown patterned paper
Dies:  Love Notes (Taylored Expressions), Stitched Scallop Edges, Stitched Ric Rac (MFT)
Accessories:  Red ribbon

Rainbow Bokeh

Welcome to another challenge from the Freshly Made Sketches team where this week our hostess is Amy O'Neill and she has a fun sketch for us.

I went a big rogue but I hope you can still somewhat see the sketch in my card.

On a white panel, I masked off the edges then ink-blended Distress Oxide inks in a rainbow pattern.  Once that was dry, I used bokeh stencils and white pigment ink to create the circles.  I heat set the pigment ink and adhered it to a white card base then set it aside while I worked on the sentiment.

This is the negative of a black foil on white cardstock hot-foiled sentiment.  I stacked it three high and added it to the rainbow pattern.  I finished with a few white gems and called it done.

Thanks for visiting.  Please check out the many wonderful ways the DT have interpreted this sketch.

Products used:

Ink:  Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Broken China, Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks, Unicorn White (Hero Arts)
Cardstock:  White
Dies:  Wonderful Sentiments Hot Foil and Dies (Pink Fresh)
Accessories:  Bokeh Stencils (Taylored Expressions), white gems (Honey Bee)

Bokeh Rainbow

Welcome!  I'm here with a card for the latest Freshly Made Sketch challenge, where our hostess this week is Judy Rozema.  And I have to say, I really like the card I made (and I don't say that often!)

As soon as I saw Judy's sketch I thought I would do traditional colour blocking with cardstock or patterned paper, but ended up using masking and ink-blending and stencils to create my colour-blocked panels.  I used part of a PTI die to create the mask for the blocks and then I blended distress inks in a rainbow order.  Once that was finished and before removing the mask, I added the bokeh with stencils and white pigment ink.

I then removed the stencil and added a clean white cardstock die-cut.  The eucalyptus leaves were stacked three high and added with liquid glue and I finished with a white-embossed sentiment on black.

I liked the card so much I decided after almost three years to make a video showing how I created it (partly in case I forget down track!). If you want to watch it you can go  here or watch it below.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I'm entering this card into the following challenges:  Addicted to Stamps and More - Die-Cuts and/or Stencils, Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes, Inskpirational - Spots and Dots

Cup of Pansies

Check out the gorgeous inspiration photo the Just Add Ink team have for you this week:

No automatic alt text available.

It's pretty obvious how I was inspired...

I have to admit to buying this Taylored Expressions stamp set specifically for this challenge (like I needed an excuse, really 😃😃)  I stamped it onto a panel of X-Press It blending card then colored it with Copic markers.  I then fussy-cut around the left side of the image, using my paper trimmer for the straight bits, before running it through my Big Shot with a stitched edge die.

Onto the white card base I adhered a strip of Blue Violet cardstock that I'd white embossed a birthday sentiment onto.  The colored panel is popped up on foam tape and the flowers are colored with clear sparkle pen.

Thanks for visiting.  Be sure to check out the fabulous cards made by the rest of the design team.

Products used:

Stamps:  Teacup Bouquet (Taylored Expressions), KIS:  Birthday (PTI)
Ink:  Versamark, Black Licorice Hybrid
Cardstock:  White, X-Press It, Blue Violet (SSS)
Dies:  Blueprints 22
Accessories:  Copics, White EP, Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen

Still The One

Hi and welcome!  It's time for another Fusion challenge and we've gone for a soft pastel look and a simple sketch.

I went with the inspiration photo this time, concentrating on the pink shades and the hearts.

I used a NBUS die from Poppy Stamps and some distress ink blending onto a strip of Bristol Smooth cardstock. which was spritzed with a Perfect Pearls mist before being adhered behind the heart cut-outs.  The sentiment comes from Taylored Expressions and I finished the card with some clear droplets.

I shot a video while I was making this and then forgot to edit it, so I did a rush edit job tonight and left in my mental block in the voiceover to give you a giggle!  You can watch the video over on YouTube or watch it here.

I'm linking this card up to the Romance challenge at CASology and the Clean and Simple challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

Will Always Love You

Welcome to another challenge from the team at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week our hostess is the fabulous Jen Brum and she has a classic and versatile sketch for us.

Now, I completely got the orientation of the sketch wrong, as you will see.  99% of the cards I make are top-folding portrait, but for some reason, I went for a landscape layout for this layout, so apologies to Jen!

My fellow teamie, Kim, is on the Taylored Expressions design team and when I saw her cards featuring these fun music themes a month or so ago, I just had to have them!  The blue panel was sponged with distress inks, leaving the center lighter than that outsides.  I then over-stamped with a music background stamp and Stone ink before adding the sentiment with black ink and clear-embossing over the top.  Now admit it, aren't you singing that song now? 😁

A cute little die-cut record and some heart-shaped music notes finished the card.

Thanks for visiting.  Check out how the rest of the team have used the sketch (with the correct orientation, I might add!)

I'm linking this card up to a few challenges:  Cardz for Guyz Love You, The Paper Players Will You Be My Valentine and Happy Little Stampers February CAS Challenge
