Penguin Joy

Hi!  This is my second post today.  I'm enjoying having time to just craft this weekend.  I'm also trying to complete a few coloring lessons as well and this card is the result of one of those lessons.

This little image was colored as part of a lesson in pencil coloring by Alyce at Kit and Clowder, so the only credit I can take is sort of following instructions 😆

After I colored this cute digi penguin printed on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, I die-cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a top-folding Chili Powder cardbase.  The sentiment was die-cut with black cardstock and adhered across the bottom and then painted with clear sparkle pen

Thanks so much for visiting!  I'm going to link this up to Merry Monday who have a penguin challenge at the moment and the "Outside" challenge at Just Us Girls

Sweet Birthday

Hi and welcome!  Today was a holiday for us here in Christchurch so I took full advantage and spent most of the day in my craft room.  Although trying to get a half-decent card was like pulling teeth!  My mojo done up and left :(

After spending literally hours on this card for my niece's upcoming birthday, I'm still not happy with it but it is what it is.  I used the sketch from MFT, the colors from Color Throwdown and I'm linking up to Seize the Birthday (no toppings).

I stamped and colored the girl using Prismacolor pencils and, due to a faux pas, had to fussy-cut her out.  The card base is Fog and on top of that is a die-cut panel of Watercolor Wash paper in a teal-y color.  The vertical panel is white with a copper layer underneath.  The girl and the sentiment are popped up on foam tape.

Thanks for visiting!

Color on Kraft

Hi and welcome back to the second Flower Challenge challenge.  This month we're looking for a floral card for an occasion.

I am in need of a birthday card so I came up with this card, which features Prismacolor coloring on Kraft.

I used my favorite Delicate Pretty Poppies set by MFT and white embossed onto a kraft panel before coloring with my Prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment was die-cut from white and kraft and layered together.

Thanks for visiting.  The DT have some gorgeous floral beauties to inspire you so be sure to check them out.

I'm linking this up to the CAS challenge at Little Tangles as well.

Products used:

Stamps:  Delicate Pretty Poppies (MFT), Celebrate (Neat & Tangled)
Ink:  Versamark, Versafine Onyx Black

Triangle Christmas

Hi!  Thanks for visiting and checking out the latest fabulous sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our hostess is Cindy Hall and she has come up with a sketch with so many possibilities.

I went with a Christmas card this week and some more NBUS.  This Hero Arts set was the oldest set in my NBUS box and I bought it just after last Christmas!  I'm so glad I have used it and it can now go live with its like-minded friends in my Christmas stamp boxes :)

I have been inspired to pull out my Prismacolor pencils and do some coloring on kraft, so that's what I did with these fun triangle images.  I colored one in red and one in green, focusing the color in one corner of each triangle,  I cut out the triangles and adhered them to the kraft panel that I'd white embossed with the sentiment and the stars.  A Lipstick Red panel is behind the kraft and for the horizontal panel, I used a strip of green foil cardstock.

Thanks for dropping by!  If you haven't already, please go check out the fabulous creations made by the rest of the DT.  They're sure to inspire you!

Products used:

Stamps:  Joy to the World (Hero Arts)
Ink:  Versamark
Cardstock:  Desert Storm, White, Green Foil, Lipstick Red (SSS)
Accessories:  White EP, Prismacolor Pencils

Deepest Sympathy

Hi and welcome!  Today I have the thrill of being guest stamper at Color Throwdown, because my card was randomly drawn as Featured Stamper.  The colors this week are just gorgeous - check them out:

The colors are kraft, pink and pale green.  Of course, when I saw those colors, I immediately thought of flowers!

I wanted to try pencil coloring on kraft after seeing some beautiful cards on my friend, Sonja's blog (and having received one from her in real life!)  So I took a new Unity Stamp flower stamp and stamped it onto some Desert Storm cardstock.  I then very loosely colored it with pink, green and white Prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment comes from Verve and is one of my favorite sympathy sentiments.

I layered the panel onto black and Pink Pirouette and then onto a Desert Storm cardbase.  To finish the card, I kept it pretty low-key and only added some Rainstones.

Thanks for visiting.  Be sure to check out the fabulous creations from the team at Color Throwdown - they amaze me every week with their gorgeous cards!

Doodlebuds

Hi and welcome and Freshly Made Sketch Challenge Day!  This week our hostess is the fabulous and oh-so-talented Cindy Lovell.

I used the wonderful card at Tag You're It and was inspired by the image covering two tags, the stenciling as well as the colors on the tags.  This is what I came up with:

I stenciled the Desert Storm card base using Crumb Cake ink and Latticework stencil.  I used my Misti to stamp the flowers on the tags with black ink before clear embossing the images.  I then colored using Prismacolors and Gamsol.  I used foam tape to adhere the tags together.

I white embossed the "hello" onto the bottom of the card.  The Midnight Muse strip was made using a die from one of MFT's Tag Builder sets.  The striped twine finished off the card.

Thanks for visiting.  Here's the inspiration from Tag You're It:

Products used:

Stamps:  Doodlebuds (WP9)
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Versamark, Crumb Cake
Cardstock:  Desert Storm, white, Midnight Muse
Accessories:  Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, clear EP, Blue Jay twine (Lawn Fawn), Blueprints Tag Builder 1 and 2 (MFT)
