Silver Butterfly

Hi all!  I'm back as Surprise Party Guest over at Seize the Birthday and this time the challenge is No Stamping.  Now in the good old days, that would be a real challenge, but these days there is so much more to this card-making hobby that it is easy to make a card without stamps.  Here's the card I made:

The brick die-cut is new-to-me from Paper Rose and I die-cut it three times adhering it together for dimension.  Some of the "bricks" fell out so I left in what remained on each layer.  This gives more of a dimensional look which you can see in the close-up photo below.

The butterfly was made from a piece of alcohol-inked Yupo in my stash and is in shades of blue and silver.  I die-cut the base from the Yupo and the top layer from silver foil cardstock.  I then hot-foiled the sentiment and die-cut it with the co-ordinating die.

Thanks for visiting.  Please head over to the challenge blog and check out the cards made by the design team and have a go yourself.

Products used:

Cardstock:  White, Silver Foil Cardstock, Yupo
Dies:  Texture 4 Brick (Paper Rose), Happy Birthday Hot Foil and Die (Waffle Flower)
Accessories:  Silver Foil, various alcohol inks

Protea Bunch

Hi all and welcome to this week's challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches where our sketch hostess this week is Jen Mitchell.  I sort of covered the sketch with the floral image, but it is there underneath!

This gorgeous protea image is from a new stamp set from Paper Rose Studio.  I absolutely love protea flowers and the first house I bought had several growing in the garden, because it was very sandy soil.  Unfortunately, this house is on different soil and I doubt protea plants would grow here.

Anyway, I stamped and coloured the image with Copics and then used my Scan n Cut to cut it out.  I wanted to stick with the blue-green shades for the leaves so I used the coloured image to choose some matching papers from Memory Box, which I die-cut with the Embossed Edge Rectangle dies to add some interest.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the wonderful cards made by the rest of the design team.

Blessed

Hi and welcome.  Today's Freshly Made Sketch hostess is Jennifer Timko and she has a great sketch for us.

Here's the card I made:

I recently got an order from Paper Rose and when I saw Jennifer's sketch, I knew some of the things I bought would work for my card.  The patterned paper is from a Paper Rose paper pack and I die-cut it with a stitched rectangle die before I ran it through the Crackle 3D embossing folder.

The eucalyptus stems were die-cut from two sheets of Memory Box cardstock.  Then came the dilemma.  I couldn't get anything to work for the circle in the sketch.  Finally, I settled on some polaroid dies, cut in black and white.  On the white one I stamped a hashtag sentiment because that seems to go with a polaroid frame.  This is not a word I'd use in everyday life, but it fit the space!

Finally I created a strip with more patterned paper and cardstock and called it done.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the rest of the design team.
