Magnolia Wish

Hi!  I'm back!  It's time for another challenge at Fusion.
While I took some elements from the sketch, I mostly focused on the photo for my card, taking the white and green floral theme to come up with this card:

The flower was stamped in the upper-right corner of a piece of X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copics.  I stuck to the BVs and Ns for the petals, which made them look whitish with a hint of purple.  I went over various parts of the image with Prismacolors to deepen the shaded areas or add more purple tones.  The sentiment was white-embossed and comes from an old PTI set "Mum's the Word".  I specifically wanted a big, multi-word sentiment to balance out the big flowers.

Thanks for visiting!  Head on over and check out the fabulous cards made by the rest of the design team.  You'll be glad you did!

I'm linking this up to the PaperCraft Crew Tic Tac Toe challenge (Emboss-Elements of Sprintime-Birthday) and the Anything Goes challenges at Addicted to Stamps and More and Simon Says Stamp.

Gingham Celebration

Hi and welcome!  Today's card was made for a few challenges - the colors from Color Throwdown, MFT's Blueprints challenge, the patterned paper theme at Simon Says Stamp and the sketch from Paper Craft Crew.

When I first saw the sketch I gulped, because me and angled panels are not friends, but in the end I wasn't too unhappy with how this turned out.  I used several Blueprints dies on this card - for the angled panel, for the stars and for the banners at the bottom.

Looking at the photo, I now wish I had lowered the word "celebrate" and had it connect with the star.  I did try and detach the word die, but it was stuck down and not moving!  Oh well, live and learn 😄

The word die as well as the stars are coated with clear sparkle pen and the two smaller stars are also coated with Nuvo Crystal Glaze.

When I cut the two top panels, there were no stitched lines, so I used my Stitched Basic Edges die to add some stitches.  Because this die adds stitches on either side of the stitched line, there was a sliver of stitching left over.  Rather than throw this away, I adhered it to the patterned paper as an additional feature.

Thanks for visiting.

Ivory Birthday

Hi!  Today's card was made for a few challenges that are around at the moment.  I used the colors from Color Throwdown, the sketch from Paper Craft Crew and the Anything Goes theme at Seize the Birthday, as well as the Something New theme at Simon Says Stamp.  My "something new" is the Altenew Leafy Garland die which I've had for quite a white but had never actually used until this card.  I didn't get anything crafty for Christmas 😭 so I decided to buy my own crafty Christmas present from SSS but it's still on its way here to New Zealand 😊

On to my card.  On a Whip Cream card base I very lightly and randomly stamped the Wood Plank background using Grout Gray ink.  I die-cut two Leafy Garland dies - once in Grout Gray and once in black cardstock and adhered them slightly askew from each other in the bottom left corner of a side-folding card.  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink on Whip Cream cardstock and clear-embossed before being die-cut with a pierced circle.  I die-cut another pierced circle the same size from black and adhered that offset behind the sentiment panel.

The sentiment panel is popped up on foam tape.  I finished the card with some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Gray Mist.

Thanks for visiting.

Coast to Coast

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is Just Add Water.  I combined that with the sketch at Paper Craft Crew Challenges to come up with this card:

The main image was stamped onto watercolor paper and very loosely colored.  I then cut a window out of a Sahara Sand card base and framed it in black.  I stamped the row of birds from Wetlands onto Sahara Sand and cut it out with the Designer Label Punch, the layered that onto a Cameo-cut frame.

I flipped the sketch so as not to cover too much of the image and I also didn't put the three embellishments on, letting the baker's twine act as the embellishment.

Thanks for looking.

Products used:

Stamps:  Coast to Coast; Wetlands
Cardstock:  Sahara Sand; Basic Black; Watercolor
Ink:  Black Stazon; Basic Black; Sahara Sand; Soft Suede; Soft Sky
Accessories:  Island Indigo Baker's Twine; Designer Label Punch; Rectangle Nesties

Edited to Add:  This card received an Honorable Mention at Just Add Ink.
