Favourite Cards of 2017

Hi

As I've done over the last couple of years, I'm again posting my personal favourite cards of 2017.  I've chosen one card from each month, so here they go.  Click on the month to be taken to the original blog post.

In summary, there are a few techniques, lots of Copic coloring and all clean designs - is it any wonder I chose them as my favourites 😊

Thanks so much to everyone who visited this little blog during the year and especially if you took the time to leave a comment.

Cheers

Favorites of 2016 Part 2

Thanks for dropping by!  I'm here to show you my personal favorite cards for the second half of 2016.  My first half favorites are here.

I think my favorite part of card-making is coloring - and in particular Copic coloring.  I keep practising trying to improve my skills and keep watching videos of the experts.  It's taken me years of birthday and Christmas presents, but last year I completed my Copic Sketch marker collection.  Now to start on the refills :)

So, here are my favorite cards from the second half of the year.  Click on the photo to be taken to the original blog post if you'd like more information.  Once again, thanks for your visits and your comments and here's to a crafty 2017!

Favorites of 2016 Part 1

Hi

I thought I'd have a look back on my 2016 cards and come up with some favorites to post.  2016 was a great card-making and DT year.  From a design team perspective, I'm coming into my 4th year on the Freshly Made Sketches team - love these girls and love this challenge!  I'm also into my 2nd year on the Fusion Team and have taken over the running of this challenge to give Lesley a chance to focus on her upcoming new arrival :)  We have a great bunch of talent on the Fusion team and some great challenges coming up.  I also completed my term on the SugarPea Designs Challenge Team halfway through the year.

Then there were the new teams - Inspired By All The Little Things, Just Add Ink and a brand new challenge The Flower Challenge.  All wonderful challenges and the best teamies!  Consequently, being on 5 DTs means a lot of the cards I post are DT cards, but I do try and squeeze in at least one card a week for a challenge or two as I love challenges!

Anyway, here are my favorites for the first half of the year.  Click on the photo to be taken to the original post if you would like more information.  And thanks to everyone for visiting this little old blog and to those who leave comments - mwah!  You are so appreciated.

Favorites of 2015

Hi!  I wasn't going to do a favorites post this year, but have been inspired looking at other blogs, so decided to go through my last 12 months' worth of posts and see what makes it into my top 12.  I haven't chosen one card from each month, but my 12 favorite cards.  Interestingly, I originally selected 23 cards and most of them were from the last few months.  I look back on the ones from earlier in the year and some of them really make me wonder what I was thinking at the time :)

Anyway, here are photos of the cards and a link to the original post:

Vintage Birthday - I don't do vintage well, and I was pleased with how this came out.

Dandelion Dreams - I like the ombre panel and the way the dandelions go across all layers.

Smooshed Tag - my first go at ink smooshing and I love it!

High Tops - fun card for my Converse-crazy son's 13th birthday.

Girlfriends - I just love the Girlfriends range and was happy with how this card came out.

Wishing - this card is special because it was for Freshly Made Sketches 200th challenge.

Muse Birthday - I loved this card when I made it and it was just chosen as a 2015 CAS favorite at SCS.

Pumpkin Girl - I love this image and I loved the layout of the card.

Zig Zag - Stenciling is one of my favorite techniques and this multi-colored one was a challenge!

Grid Thanks - I just love how the color went onto this embossed panel.

Poinsettia Tag - The Soft Stone background really makes this poinsettia pop.

Merry Christmoose - I just adore this moose and I love, love, love coloring with Copics!

Thanks for taking the time to visit, both today and during 2015.  I appreciate you taking the time to stop by.  I'm going to link this up to Lyndal's favorites post.

Cheers

Favorite Cards of 2014 Pt 2

Hi and welcome back.  Today features my personal favorite cards of 2014 for the second half of the year.  My Jan-Jun favorites are at this post.

If you want to see the original post, click on the month.

July

Stencils come a close second to Copics as my favorite tools and I really liked the background on this card.  It was made for my DH but I still haven't given it to him, doh!  Maybe for Valentines.

August

I love the background on this card and the cowboy ain't too bad either ;)

September

This is another card where I love the background.  My Creative Chemistry classes were so worth the money, I've had so much fun using what I've learned!

October

I love the simplicity of this card (and the background!)

November

I like this card because it was the first time I got a person to look okay after coloring with Copics :)

December

I'm not totally sure why I like this card so much.  Maybe it's because it wasn't a Christmas card(!) or maybe it's the fabulous sentiment, courtesy of Hannelie.  Whatever it is, this card just makes me happy.

Thanks so much for coming along on this journey with me.  Have a Happy New Year, everyone!

I'm linking this up to both Mynn's and Lyndal's Favorite Cards Linky Party.

Favorite Cards of 2014

It's New Year's Eve here in New Zealand and I thought it would be fun to go back through the cards I posted to my blog in 2014 and choose my personal favorites.  A lot of people do this at this time of year and I enjoy seeing their cards, so here goes.  If you click on the month, it'll take you to the orginal post.

January

This is one of those rare cards of mine that I really like.  Probably because it's not often I can "randomly arrange" embellishments and have it look okay :)

February

This card was for my mother's birthday.  She got me into card-making and she loves butterflies, so I put extra effort into this card and I love the Fossil Stone background.

March

This is one of my favorite Christmas cards for the year.  I love the red and gray together and the sponging really adds some dimension.  A bit of a departure from my normal white-based CAS cards :)

April

There were slim pickings in April and May because that was when we were living in the garage while our house was repaired after the major earthquake in 2011.  At the same time, I was going through a restructure at work, which ultimately led to me finishing up at CourierPost after 32 years.

May

I love the faux patina technique and also like the layout of this card.

June

Yep, another card featuring dark gray - I'm sensing a pattern here!  I love the flower arrangement and the font of the sentiment on this card.  I think I'd only just got the stitched mats dies and was using them on every card - not much has changed in that regard LOL.

I'll go through the second half of the year tomorrow.  Thanks for visiting.

Edited to Add:  I'm linking this up to both Mynn's and Lyndal's Favorite Cards Linky Party.
