Pinboard

Hi all, a quick post from me today.  Cecile Ribon is our sketch hostess over at Freshly Made Sketches and I went very literal because all I could see in her sketch was a Post-It note.  Luckily I had just received a die that is a pinboard note and pin so this card was pretty easy to put together and as I was pressed for time, it all worked well!

The photos are a bit glare-y so it's hard to see but I BetterPressed a script plate onto both the card base and the yellow note, using no ink for the card base and cream ink for the note.  I also added ink around the edges of the note to make it look more dimensional.  The sentiment was BetterPressed and die-cut and the flower was ink-blended with inks to match the pin.

This is a very simple card that came together quickly and definitely won't set the world on fire, but it meets the brief.  Thanks for visiting.  The design team have much more imaginative cards using the sketch so I hope you'll check them out.

Products used:

Ink:  Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious, Rubellite, Shadow Creek, Vanilla Cream (Altenew, Versafine Onyx Black
Cardstock:  White, Vanilla Cream (Altenew)
Dies:  Push Pin Notes, BPOM Post Edge Expressions, LDOM Lock & Key Mailbox (Spellbinders)

Postage Flowers

Hi and welcome!  Today is Freshly Made Sketch Challenge Day and our hostess this week is Narelle Farrugia.  As soon as I saw her sketch, I saw postage stamps and that's the direction I took.

This is part of an earlier stenciled panel that I first used on this card.  I used the Postage Collage die to select three pieces to die-cut and then added the additional postage-style stamps on them.  The card base is white and onto that I added a Pastel Sunrise panel I'd stamped with the same colour ink and the Crackle background stamp.  I used this stamp on the stenciled piece as well so this ties it together somewhat.

To finish the card, I stacked a BetterPress sentiment three deep and called it done.

Thanks so much for visiting.  The DT have some gorgeous cards so I hope you'll check them out.

Letterpress Hello

Hi and welcome to another challenge from the team at Freshly Made Sketches where our hostess this week is Judy Rozema.  Judy has a wonderful CAS sketch for us that asks for a lot of white space.  Here's what I did with the sketch:

I jumped on the Betterpress bandwagon as soon as they were available in New Zealand but hadn't really done too much with it.  I decided that big open area on the top of the sketch was perfect for this big hello so I put that through the Betterpress system using the pebble paper.  I then die-cut the panel with a curved die, which in hindsight wasn't a great idea because it flattened the letterpress effect somewhat.  I added a strip of Blueberry cardstock under the curve to match the colour of the butterflies.

The butterflies were already pressed onto porcelain paper from an earlier play, so I grabbed a couple of Prismacolor pencils and quickly coloured them up before die-cutting them.  And that's it!

Thanks so much for visiting.  The DT have some great inspiration so please check them out.
