Fairy Snowman

Hi and welcome to Merry Monday.  This is our summer schedule so our challenges run for two weeks during July and August.  Today's challenge comes to us from Deanne and she is asking for pastels in our Christmas cards.

I combined my card with the Wings challenge at CASology and the sketch and color challenge at Friday Mashup.

I printed out this adorable Mo Manning image onto X-Press It cardstock and at the same time I added one of Hannelie's wonderful sentiments.  I then colored the image with Copics and die-cut it with a Stitched Square die.

I layered the card onto a Smoke card base using foam tape.  The wings were colored with Dazzling Details and have a lovely sparkle in real life.

Thanks for visiting.  Be sure to check out the pastel creations from the rest of the design team.  We'd love to see your pastel creations in our gallery.

Products used:

Stamps:  Fairy Snowman digi (Mo Manning)
Cardstock:  X-Press It, Smoke
Accessories:  Copics, Dazzling Details (SU), Moonshine sequins (SSS), Stitched Square dies (Lil' Inkers)

Cheers
Karren

Edited to Add:  This card got a shout out at Friday Mashup.

Gamer Boy

Hi and welcome to a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week, our hostess is the talented and funny Linda and she has a great sketch for us:

I was hunting through some pre-colored images for another card when I came across a digi stamp that I'd colored when I first started using Copics.  The idea for my card came immediately to mind and it was fairly smooth sailing from that point.

My youngest son turned 13 yesterday and he loves gaming, so as soon as I saw this image from Mo Manning, I had to buy it.  This card was given to William by his older brother, Matthew.

As I said earlier, I colored this in my early Copic-coloring days so it's not that good, but it'll do.

I cut a square opening in my white card base then I partially die cut the image using the same square die.  I only die-cut the bottom and fussy-cut the rest to add some interest.  I accidentally cut off a tiny tuft of hair sticking up from the top of his head but it's not noticeable, I hope!  I glued the bottom of the image to the card base using mono multi glue then adhered some patterned paper behind the aperture with foam tape.

In lieu of the twine on the sketch, I used an edger die that I cut using black cardstock.  No embellishments or frills on this card.  My poor son already got a birthday card from his ageing grandmother that was in lovely girly pinks and purples with flowers, so I don't think he really wants another card with girly stuff on it!  He did me proud and accepted the girly card without a negative comment and said thanks and hugged his grandma, so all is good.  We had a bit of a laugh afterwards, though :)

Thanks for visiting!  There are some wonderful and inspirational cards on the Freshly Made Sketches blog, so be sure to check them out.

Holly Angel

Welcome back to another Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge.  This week, we are challenged to make a card with holly on it.

I went in a slightly different direction, but I do still have holly on my card :)

This is a cute digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I printed it out onto Xpress-it cardstock and colored it with Copics.

The card base is 5"square Whisper White which was embossed with the Northern Flurry EF and then the top left and bottom right corners were spritzed with Pool Party marker and my spritzer tool.  To add a bit of fun, I randomly placed a few blue and green sequins onto the card.

Thanks for looking.  Have you checked out the rest of the DT's cards?  They're amazing as usual.

Products used:

Stamps:  Mo's Digital Pencil digi stamp; Signature Christmas (PTI)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Gumball Green, Xpress-it
Accessories:  Large Scallop Framelit, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, copic markers, Northern Flurry EF, spritzer tool, Pool Party marker, white American Crafts twine, sequins

Percy Penguin

Today's challenge at Merry Monday is to use an animal on your Christmas card.  Check out this adorable inspiration photo.

For my card, I went with another digi image from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I've called this fellow Percy the Penguin.

This image was colored before I bought some Xpress-it cardstock, so it's colored onto Shimmery White, which allowed the color to bleed a little.  I used the color on Percy's scarf to determine my color scheme, which is Bermuda Bay and Basic Black.  I also did some stenciling using a Simon Says Stamp stencil called Fallling Snow.  All the Bermuda Bay cardstock was spritzed with some Frost White Shimmer Mist.

A sentiment from Joyous Celebration finishes off the card.

Thanks for visiting.  Pop on over to the Merry Monday blog to check out the rest of the DT inspiration and have a go at the challenge yourself.

Products used:

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Another Critter Card

The current challenge at Merry Monday is staying open for another 5 days, so I thought I'd sneak in another critter card.

The stamps for this card were part of my Secret Santa package from a Merry Monday DT member.  I was so spoiled with the goodies I got and this stamp is so adorable, I had to use it.

This stamp was drawn by the oh-so-talented Mo Manning and sold by Stamping Bella.  I stamped it on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it with Copics.  I kept the layout pretty simple as the stamped image is pretty big and really, such a cute image doesn't need much embellishment!

Here's the challenge graphic as a reminder.

It's New Year's Eve here and the first sunny day we've had since before Christmas.  We've had a week of rain!  My exciting plans for the evening include taking the dog for a walk after dinner once it cools down a bit and if I'm lucky I might be able to convince DH to join me and Dexter.  Speaking of which, here's the cutest critter I know...

Thanks for looking.

Products used:

Stamps:  Singin' So Beautiful (Stamping Bella)
Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Gumball Green
Accessories:  Gumball Green marker, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Copics
