Happy New Year

Hi!  I'm thrilled to be Guest Designer over at CAS On Sunday where the theme for this challenge is Happy New Year!  I don't have any stamps specific to New Year (I know, right!) so I had to mix and match what I did have to come up with this card:

I have a new, replacement Mini Minc machine after my last one died in a smoky mess, so I foiled the die-cut word "happy" with silver foil and set it to one side.  I white embossed the words "new" and "year onto a strip of Audrey Blue cardstock and die-cut one end with the same scallop die I used for the white layer.  Onto that scalloped white layer, I spritzed some gold Color Shine.

I assembled the card, hooking the blue strip through the loop on the "y" and then placed some sequins and Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Thanks for visiting.  And thanks to Janneke and the team at CAS on Sunday for choosing my card in their "Pets" challenge that lead to this GD spot.

Products used:

Stamps:  The Big, the Bold & the Happy (Winnie & Walter)
Ink:  Versamark
Cardstock:  White, Audrey Blue (SSS), Silver Foil, Toner Paper
Dies:  Happy Script (Mama Elephant), Scalloped Rectangles (Couture Creations)
Accessories:  Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine, sequins, Stickles

Cheers

Balloon Celebration

Hi and welcome!  We have another fabulous challenge for you at Fusion Card Challenge.

I went with the photo this time, concentrating on the theme and colors.

I used a balloon stencil to create some balloons on a white panel. I then foiled a die-cut sentiment as well as a strip to put down the left side of the panel. The foiled sentiment is backed with a black version  slightly offset.  Some hand-drawn strings and striped paper and my card was done.

Thanks for visiting.  The design team have some gorgeous inspiration for you so be sure to check them out.

Products used:

Stamps:  Hog Heaven (MFT)
Ink:  Black Licorice Hybrid, Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers Distress
Cardstock:  White, Black, Rose Gold Foil, Dots & Stripes Neutrals (MFT), Toner Paper
Dies:  Celebratory Greetings (MFT)
Accessories:  Wink of Stella, Big Balloons Stencil (MFT), Mini Minc Machine

Cheers

You're the Best

I'm back again with another card for Camp Create!  This time I combined it with the sketch at Just Add Ink and came up with this card:

I bought a Mini Minc machine a couple of months ago, but hadn't used it much mainly due to not having a toner printer.  In the end, I bought the cheapest toner printer I could find and my first job was to print off a page of black toner.  From there I die-cut the "because" word and then foiled it using gold foil.  So much easier than trying to use a toner pen!

For the rest of the card, I die-cut the Stitched Dot Circles onto a white card base and stamped the rest of the sentiment in black.  I stamped and Copic-colored a heart from Lucky and adhered that to the card front after painting it with clear Wink of Stella.  Finally I added the foiled sentiment.  A very CAS version of the sketch :)

Thanks for visiting.

Mean It

Hi and welcome to SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #2.  And here is this week's challenge:

SugarPea Designs Challenge Designers June 8:

I went with the inspiration pic this week and just had to test out my new Mini Minc machine...

It's hard to see in the photo above, but I inked the "Love you, mean it" stamp from Talk is Chic with a toner marker and then foiled it with gold.  It's not perfect as you can see bits of black through the foil, so I definitely need more practice.

For the rest of the card, I die-cut a panel with Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles and stamped across the bottom with the heart border from Build a Background Basics and red ink.  I used the same red ink to stamp the lips beside the sentiment.  That whole panel was then popped up on foam tape onto a white card base.  Pretty simple!

Thanks for visiting!
