Outer Space....

Hi Karleigh Sue Fans!

A quick post today to share a quick altered index card I made.
I have been playing along at ICAD (Index Card a Day) again this year - last year I completed all 61 cards and am hoping to again this year!
The "prompt" for this Day 26 card was "Space Invaders"!!

For my index card background I have used Distress Inks and white paint - it's my "version" of the "Bokeh" technique which I have seen around a bit and decided to give it a try myself!
Cheri's "Extraterrestrial" digi has been printed directly onto the index card along with the computer generated wording and stars.
A quick way and effective way to complete a card - still looks great - just a bit quicker with printing directly onto a patterned background and no colouring!

Hope you like it!

Glama....

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing a great image available in store "Glama"!
Click here to be taken directly to the digi in store!! She has a it of a retro look and feel to her!

I've created a mixed media journal page. Background is acrylic paints and a range of different home made stencils (made on my Cameo Silhouette with overhead transparency sheet). I love the soft colour tones.

Glama was coloured with copics and fussy cut. I added a few pink feathers and stamped the "I feel pretty" lettering.

You can find more amazing images in store - so many styles to choose from and links to Cheri's colouring books!!

Happy crafting everyone!

Beware the Siren......

Hi Fans

Sharing an altered index card today which is my day 9 creation for the Index Card a Day Challenge! Theme for the day was "compass"!

I've used one of Cheri's great Mary Jane images which you can find at the website along with all the others and the colouring book details!!

Background is a digital paper available from the Old Market Etsy Store - I printed it directly onto the index card. I coloured the image with copics and fussy cut then added her to the card along with an ink sprayed piece of muslin, a compass charm and computer generate wording.

Beware the sirens will tempt you off course ... with their "sea" weed LOL!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hope....

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all enjoying your week and getting lots of crafting in!
Here in Australia we are coming into winter which means I get some time off but it's getting wet and cold!!! But the upside is I can craft all day!!!

Today I am sharing and altered index card using a gorgeous freebie Cheri made available to members of the  Colouring Queen-dom Facebook Group and I couldn't resist colouring and creating with her - I like to create and colour "Cause ribbon" images!

I'm playing along with the ICAD challenge again this year and this is one of my "warm up" cards - the prompt was to write a "haiku" poem which is a 3 line poem with the 1st line consisiting of 5 syllables, 2nd line 7 syllables and 3rd line 5 syllables! I've never written one before but tried to write it based on the theme of my "Hope" image - I think I did okay!

Card background is torn book pages and acrylic paint. I computer generated the poem and cut out. image coloured with copics and highlighted with white pen and fussy cut. I placed her a little off the page and trimmed the overhang. the wording and image has been "outlined" with charcoal pencil and smudged - I like the effect.

Don't forget we have a challenge running this month - click here - theme of use your favourite colours - how easy and fun is this challenge???!!!!

And check back here at the blog regularly for more DT inspiration!

Plus Cheri's NEW website for all her images, colouring book info and much more!!!

Biker Bomb!!

Hi Everyone!

I'm here today sharing another journal page using "Biker Bomb" - available in store now!!!!

Click here to be taken to Cheri's Website for lots of eye candy, to shop, for colouring book info and lots more!!

I loved colouring this image with pastel pencils - she's a cool biker chick!!

Journal page background is ink sprays and a stencil I made on my Silhouette and the motorbike is also a Silhouette file and was perfect for this page!

I love purple so I've coloured Biker Bomb to match in with the background.

I used my Dymo label maker to add the "Wanna Go For A Ride" wording - the label makers are a great way to quickly add words or a saying to your journal pages - normally I computer generate or use individual letter tiles but I "found" this Dymo in a cupboard LOL forgot I had it - too much crafting gear????

Don't forget we have lots going on at the Colouring Queendom Facebook Group plus challenges, events and general chat and tips!!!

See you again soon with more inspiration later this month!!

Group inspirational post and newsletter

Hello there, and I hope you are all having a fantastic day, wherever you are in the world!

May already has been a super busy month here at Karleigh Sue, with new books, digital stamps, and a lot of behind the scenes planning of various things.

As well as the new Mary Jane book, which arrived to join the colection from Cheri last month,  this month has also seen the release of the karleigh sue's little black coloring book, which is a mini sized book full of pin ups and sassy quotes- perfect to put in your handbag for coloring when you are bored but on the move, or for tucking into the glove box to color on the school run!
you can see more info on these books on the website, along with their links on Amazon.

and if two books in as many months weren't enough for you, I've been assured that there
is also going to be a new release of digital stamps next month on this date, (the 16th) so please keep your eyes peeled for those- Cheri is busy working on them behind the scenes, and from the previews I've seen, you are not going to want to miss them- so put the date in your calendars, and be back here on the 16th to see what she has dreamed up, and what the designers have created to fuel your creative mojos!

That's it for our news this month (so far), but we are not about to leave you without showing you what the karleigh sue inspirational team have been up to...
for today, they have some creations for you using the new Mary Jane digital stamps that you can find at cherishull.com - these digital stamps were released at the same time as the new mary Jane's adult coloring book, and are a very alternative yet fun set of stamps. the team collaborated on the theme this month, and decided they wanted to take the green theme from the last coloring team forward, and create makes heavily inspired by the Mary Jane Digis and the color GREEN..

Rachel has used the Mary Jane  'Ganga Fairy' digital stamp,

to create this 4 x 6" fridge magnet

Lynda has used  Mary Jane 'Freshly Baked'

to make this bright and punchy card with a hilarious (and very true) sentiment

Sharon has used Mary Jane 'peace pipe'

to create this gorgeous mixed media art journal page

and Crafting Vicky has also been art journalling, with Mary Jane  'Stoner Chick'

don't you just love those pick 'n' mix letters, and that washi?

If you want to see more of these projects, head over to the designers blogs for more detail on these projects!

don't forget to subscribe to this blog, to keep up to date with all the news, first peeks at the new releases, inspirational posts and the monthly crafter's challenge
&
for more inspiration by the karleigh sue team, Cheri's coloristas and the coloring community  (and to share your own adult colorings), head over to the

we hope to see you soon!

La Catrina......

Hi Karleigh Sue Fans!

I'm here again to share another inspiration creation using "La Catrina" available at the "new" store!!

I love Day of the Dead/Calavera Girls images - great to create with!

I don't normally do CAS style - I like adding embellies and texture etc but for this card I tried to keep it more minimalistic - tried to LOL!
Background is the image coped and pasted multiple times on the page and I recoloured it red.
La Catrina was printed on Kraft coloured paper and coloured very basically with coloured pencils and fussy cut - this creation wasn't about the colouring but the card as a whole and sometimes when you want to create something quickly this can still look effective.
I added some muslin cloth and a charm with string to complete the creation!

Hope you like my "make" for this week!
Don't forget to visit the new website and check out all the great new "Mary Jane" images - I have some to create with next month!!

Hello Karleigh Sue Fans!

Feels like I haven't posted here for ages but I did over a week ago - time flies!!!

Today I am sharing a journal page just created using a fantastic image from the store "Rawr" - just love the ":pose" of this gal - she looks like she is stalking her prey LOL!

I've coloured her with pastel pencils and fussy cut.

Background page of my journal is serviettes in jungle/safari theme - the 2 lions were perfect for the top of the page with animal print napkins at the bottom.
I added scrabble tile letters "Hear Me Rawr" along with a "courage" charm, some string, bits of left over fibre, hessian and strips of fabric.

Are you tempted????

Hi Karleigh Sue Fans!

I've added her to our April Challenge at the Facebook Group so why not create a tag yourself and join for a chance to win! and so many amazing images available at the Karleigh Sue Store to choose from to play along!

I've used a plain manila tag as my base and used texture paste and a leaf stencil by The Crafters Workshop to add the dimension. Once dry I sprayed with ink sprays by Lindy's Stamp Gang - the picture doesn't show the shimmer of the red spray. I added the computer generated wording, a piece of ink sprayed muslin coth and some string to the top. Eve has been coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut! Quick and easy but effective!

Why not check out the FB Group for some more inspiration from the DT and don't forget to join our upcoming event "Go Green All Week" from April 17 top 23 - lots of fun, colouring and inspiration plus a chance to win prized!!

Feel like a "Pumpkin Spice Latte"??

Hi Everyone

Sharing a card made using a great image from the store "Pumpkin Spice Latte".

I have coloured her with my Derwent Pastel Pencils - in pink of course because I love colouring in pink!

Background paper is from Gecko Galz and was a perfect "coffee" colour for this Latte Gal!

I added a few embellishments to finish off the card including some cloth, string, charm and computer generated "happy birthday" wording!

Lots of fun digis to create with in the store so check it out along with the Facebook Group for sharing as well!

Rest in Pieces....

Sharing some pink zombie fun today!

I really loved this "Rest in Pieces" digi as soon as I saw it in the store and well I just love pink so I couldn't resist making her look a bit "softer" than a vampires would normally look!!

She has been coloured with pastel pencils which are my favourite colouring medium at the moment - you just have to be careful not to smudge your work as you are going and then spray seal at the end.
I am always happy with the "look" of the pastel pencils.

I altered a page in my black journal - a perfect background for an image like this!
I used a credit card to spread some paint over the background - no need to be neat - I wanted it to look messy!!
I fussy cut the image and used my Silhouette to cut the "tombstones" from pink patterned scrapbooking card - love them!!!

I layered all the tombstones behind the image along with a piece of scrap muslin cloth and adhered everything to the page and to finish off added 2 little white bats also cut by Silhouette!!

I'm really happy with how this looks!

Make sure you check out the store and get creating!!!
And don't forget to checkout the Facebook Group - we love to see all of your creations!!!

You Can Leave Your Hat On......

Hi Everyone

I'm here again to share a recently made creation using one of the new images available in the brand new colouring club set - as always sooooo many amazing images to create with!!

I've made yet again another page in my journal!
This one has lots of texture in the background as it is the back of a page I did a lot of sewing machine on - sometimes I cover the stitching with paper but it also makes great texture for your page so that's what I did for this creation!

I also added texture paste through a new stencil I bought, added ink sprays, washi tape, some rubber stamps randomly over the page and computer generated wording "you can leave your hat on".
I printed the image out larger and cut out her hat so she could stand on it for a bit of fun!
Image coloured with copic markers and also colour pencils.

Visit the Karleigh Sue Store to see the colour club pack plus all the digis available to purchase!

Next you will come to the Sirens........

Hi Karleigh Sue Fans!

Today I am sharing a new journal page made with "The Sea Can't Hold Me" - available in the store!!
A great image to create with in my mixed media journal.

I coloured this "siren" with colour pencils and fussy cut.
Background of my black journal is texture paste through a stencil and then sprayed with spray inks - Lindy's Stamp Gang.

I wanted a "sea/ocean"theme so I used green and blue ink sprays along with muslin cloth, some string and fish charms.
To go with the "siren" theme I handwrote a paragraph from "The Odyssey" warning about the sirens and their singing!

Really love images like this - she has a bit of an ancient feel to her and was just perfect for this page!

Make sure you visit the store for all the great images available, new releases, packs and more!!!
And visit the blog often for lots of inspiration along with our Facebook Group!

Women are from Venus......

Hi Karleigh Sue Fans

Today I am sharing a journal page using the fun and quirky Terrestrial digi available in store!!
You have probably noticed I love working in my journals!

As soon as I saw this digi I knew I wanted to use the "Women are from Venus" saying - love to make fun pages with a bit of humour!

I used a variety of mediums on the background - paint, serviette pieces, builders mesh, texture paste, stencil, posca pen and some puff paint to make the "smoke" coming from her spaceship LOL!
I stamped some large letters on paper, cut out and added a "border" with sharpie texta and adhered to the page.

Image was printed on card and coloured with pastel pencils - I gave her a bit of a "green" tinge so she looked out of this world!!

Hope you can find some inspiration from my creation today!
