Wanna Get Wild

Lynda here, popping by to share a fun card I have made using Wanna Get Wild. I just love her cheeky sass don't you?

I felt like a spot of inky crafting so created a great backdrop for her using distress inks, a harlequin mask and a set of jester stamps I bought ages ago and hadn't got around to using. They compliment her perfectly and I am thrilled with the way it turned out. The senti is inspired by my favourite song from the one and only Robbie Williams. I was lucky enough to see him perform it live years ago and all I can say is WOW! It's one of those musical memories that will stay with me forever.

If you haven't already, do pop across to our new(ish) facebook group ( find it here) . We'd love to see your Karleigh Sue creations in there.

Thanks for stopping by

New release for August

This month we are playing with new digital images with  more of a creepmas/halloween themed feel!
I am very excited for this tme of the year, as I'm not really an avid holiday fan, but I do like halloween! It's not so much of a big thing over in the uk, but our village usually throws a party for the children, and it is a lot of fun. I know Cheri is a big halloween fan too, and enjoys carving pumpkins when she isn't drawing stuff up!

Rachel, Karleigh Sue Coordinator

There are four new images which will shortly be arriving in the Karleigh Sue Digital stamps section of Cheri's Store which you can find at www.cherishull.com
there is one cute and sweet and three dark and creepy (but still rather cute in their own way)

the four images are called: Take no shit, Tattered fairy, Voodoo Doll and Merry Creepmas!

The team have all used different mediums and layouts for their projects which I hope will give you some ideas on using the images to create your own projects- and we'd love to see yours with the new images over in the Karleigh Sue digital stamps fan group on facebook!

Lynda using tattered fairy

Lynda has combined this image with a background digital stamp from another company, for a wonderfully cute and whimsical feel card which you can read about on her blog

Rachel Using  voodoo doll

You can find more details on this card, and the creation of the background on her blog

Crafting Vicky using take no shit

Vicky has done a video of the creation of this page, and you can find it on her blog!don't you just love that awesome skull in the background?

 Winnie using merry creepmas

for more details on the creation of this card, you can hop over to her blog- don't you just love that eery green skin tone?

Thank you for joining us for our new release, and we hope you have enjoyed it as much as we've enjoyed making these projects for you!

El Gato Dia De Los Muertos

Good morning! Lynda here just popping in to share a little inspiration using El Gato Dia De Los Muertos. Such a fun little fella to colour. Guaranteed to make anyone smile don't you think?

To create my card I die cut a scalloped circle from some pearlescent pink card, and layered it over a pretty printed piece of parchment paper. I hand stamped paw prints over it, and added a senti from a recent stamp set magazine freebie. I fussy cut the cat and mounted him on foam pads for added dimension.

Don't forget you can come and chat with us about all things Karleigh Sue over at our new Facebook page. We'd love to see what you are making with your digis.

That's it from me for now, but do keep and eye open here on the blog as there will be more inspiration soon, and the DT are busy working on some lovely new release images to inspire you soon too. You won't want to miss these!!

Bye for now

Tough Girls Eat Cookies by DT Lynda

Lynda here stopping by to share a little inspiration for you. This time I have used Tough Girls Eat Cookies. Cookies, or biscuits as we call them here in the UK are my absolute weakness so I totally identify with this digi!!

I kept my card nice and summery using yellows and blues, teaming her with co ordinating cards and paper from my stash. I kept the card simple, just finishing it off with a pretty ribbon, some brads and a sentiment.

Have you heard that we have a brand new Karleigh Sue Facebook page? No! Well look no further, click the link here and come and join in the chat and share your Karleigh Sue creations.

Hope to see you there!

group post using this month's new releases!

Group post using this month's new releases!

Hey there everyone! Hope you are all enjoying the summer! I have two small children home on their summer holidays, and it is chaos!

We have a couple of design team members off on their vacations at the minute too,and I really hope they are enjoying themselves and getting some much needed R &R
and unfortunately our design team member Sharon has made the hard decision to leave us- she will be sadly missed on the team...
so with you today is a small skeleton crew post, to provide you some more inspiration using the images released in Cheri's web shop earlier this month on the 16th

you can find the link to the shop HERE

Lynda really has been busy, with two cards this time!
She's used ponytails and shotgun shells, and Candy Kisses to create two very different but equally striking cards- one in monochromatic colours and the very PINK candy Kisses card, which is my favourite- I'm a sucker for pink... which do you like the best?

I (Rachel) Have made a card using 'Tequila' and I think you can see I had as much fun arranging this for it's photo shoot as I did making the card... funnily enough though, I couldn't find any tequila!
I decided to try a new approach with this card, making the grey cardstock the main feature of the background , and adding strips of bright patterned paper. I think they complement each other beautifully, don't you?

Vicky has been busy doing some colouring, and one of her favourite past times right now is adding digital stamps to colouring pages, and journalling on them, which I think is a really fun and a brilliant way of making your colouring books something to keep and cherish! featured on this page is the digi 'Queen Collector'

That's us done for this month! I will leave you guessing at just WHAT we are going to be sharing with you next month! there will be new images again on the 16th, and lots of inspiration has already been created by the team to be posted throughout the month, so don't forget to hit FOLLOW to keep up to date on everything!

We also have a BRAND NEW facebook group for Karleigh Sue Digital stamps, so please do come and check it out!

Be a Unicorn by DT Lynda

Helloooo!! DT  Lynda here again sharing a bit more inspiration for you. I had a very productive weekend making up some gorgeous Karleigh Sue projects so you can expect to see me popping up a fair bit , hopefully helping you to get your creative mojo flowing.

This time around I've used Be a Unicorn. She comes in two versions, clothed and risque, and as you can see I have coloured up the clothed version. I love all things mythical so she's right up my street.

She is coloured with Copics and promarkers, fussy cut and mounted on some starry paper from my stash, which I added sparkle to with gems. The sentiment stamp is by Visible Image. I think it looks really effective for such a simple technique, don't you agree?

If I have inspired you to create, and I hope I have, the Karleigh Sue team would love to see what you are making using your digis too. You are very welcome to join up to our brand new Facebook group and show us your projects and generally join in the crafty chat there.

Queen Collector by DT Lynda

Hi folks! DT Lynda here stopping by to share a project I have made using Queen Collector, a recent new release image. I think she's adorable and she was just perfect for a tag bookmark.

She is coloured with Copics and Promarkers, and I've given her grown some extra glitz with distress stickles. The sentiment is hand stamped and edged with distress ink and I have mounted her on an old book page , distressed, with some script washi tape.

I hope you've enjoyed taking a look at my work. If you want to see more Karleigh Sue projects and share your own do join us in our brand new Facebook group. You can find us here.

Retail Therapy by DT Lynda ( and some exciting news!)

Helloooo!!! Lynda here stopping by to share a little inspiration with you. This time I have used the cute Retail Therapy. She's just perfect for all those of us that love to shop or have fashion divas in our lives.

I don't often make rectangular cards but am on a mission to use some scraps of patterned paper up, and I had some that fitted the bill perfectly, just the right shape. I coloured her in copics and promarkers and diecute around her before mat and layering to create some dimension. I stamped the senti ( from a Roald Dahl stamp set) onto a die cut tag and added some embellishments to finish. I hope you like her.

Now, I promised you news too and here it is. There is a brand new Karleigh Sue fan page for crafters over on Facebook. Woohoo!!You can find it right here. We are missing seeing your crafty creations, so this page is there for you to share your makes, keep up to date with all things Karleigh Sue and join in some crafty chat and fun. We would love to see you there!

Jessica Jones

Howdy folks! Lynda here just stopping by to share a little bit of inspiration with you all, using the ultra sexy Jessica Jones. Isn't she ace? I'm a bit of a country girl at heart so love the new western themed digis from Cheri- go check them all out in the store here.

To create my card I coloured with copics and promarkers, and mounted her on some distressed scrapbook paper behind a frame. The senti was cut using a Tim Holtz aplhabet die and adhered to kraft card.

I hope this has inspired you to get creative this weekend.

Have a good one!

Jamesa

Did you know Cheri does custom pin up digis? Well she does, and today I'm popping by to share a wee bit of inspiration using the lovely Jamesa. When I saw her I just had to pop open the copics and colour her up for a card for my sisters birthday this week. She's a professional photographer so it's a perfect image for her!

I fussy cut around her and kept my card simple, using a bokeh style patterned paper, which I stamped a sentiment directly on to. Some scrap booking photo corners and gems added the finishing touch.

I hope you're inspired to get creating now. There are so many awesome images in the store that you are bound to find something to tickle your fancy so why not take a peek and treat yourself?

Free at Last by Lynda

Helloooo! Lynda here stopping by share a bit of inspiration for you. This time I have used Free at Last- isn't she amazing?! I had fun colouring her up ( with copics) , so much hair to tackle!! I also created a little scene for her using a castle stamp that I have in my stash ( made by Visible Image, one of my favourite stamp companies). The castle and background scene was coloured with promarkers as sadly I don't have enough greens in copics- yet! I'm definitely working on that one but sshhh don't tell hubby  ;)

The senti is also hand stamped. I wanted to show that the pin ups can be used for cards for girlfriends as well as men- you just need the right sentiment to make it work.

Don't forget if you are a Facebook user and haven't joined up already, you can follow Cheri's page The Coloring Queen- dom and join in our growing community of colourists. We love to chat about colouring, and see all your projects so pop along if you can. Would be great to see you there!

One Love by Lynda

Good morning! The sun is shining here in the UK and it promises to be a beautiful day, so today's inspiration card seems to be perfectly timed as I have gone with a chirpy summery, festival feel.

I have used One Love, coloured with copics and promarkers. I kept the card fairly simple, just using one funky patterned paper, and a sentiment and embellishment from a scrapbooking set I have had lurking for a while.

Don't forget we still have a challenge running here on the blog too. You can find it here. All you have to do is use your favourite colours on any project you like. Simple right? Not many entries as yet so your chances of winning are good if you play along.

If you love colouring too then also hope on over to the Coloring Queen-dom on Facebook. Lots of fun and chat happens there so we'd love you to join in.

Have a great Sunday whatever you are up to ( crafting I hope!)

Group inspirational post and newsletter

Hello there, and I hope you are all having a fantastic day, wherever you are in the world!

May already has been a super busy month here at Karleigh Sue, with new books, digital stamps, and a lot of behind the scenes planning of various things.

As well as the new Mary Jane book, which arrived to join the colection from Cheri last month,  this month has also seen the release of the karleigh sue's little black coloring book, which is a mini sized book full of pin ups and sassy quotes- perfect to put in your handbag for coloring when you are bored but on the move, or for tucking into the glove box to color on the school run!
you can see more info on these books on the website, along with their links on Amazon.

and if two books in as many months weren't enough for you, I've been assured that there
is also going to be a new release of digital stamps next month on this date, (the 16th) so please keep your eyes peeled for those- Cheri is busy working on them behind the scenes, and from the previews I've seen, you are not going to want to miss them- so put the date in your calendars, and be back here on the 16th to see what she has dreamed up, and what the designers have created to fuel your creative mojos!

That's it for our news this month (so far), but we are not about to leave you without showing you what the karleigh sue inspirational team have been up to...
for today, they have some creations for you using the new Mary Jane digital stamps that you can find at cherishull.com - these digital stamps were released at the same time as the new mary Jane's adult coloring book, and are a very alternative yet fun set of stamps. the team collaborated on the theme this month, and decided they wanted to take the green theme from the last coloring team forward, and create makes heavily inspired by the Mary Jane Digis and the color GREEN..

Rachel has used the Mary Jane  'Ganga Fairy' digital stamp,

to create this 4 x 6" fridge magnet

Lynda has used  Mary Jane 'Freshly Baked'

to make this bright and punchy card with a hilarious (and very true) sentiment

Sharon has used Mary Jane 'peace pipe'

to create this gorgeous mixed media art journal page

and Crafting Vicky has also been art journalling, with Mary Jane  'Stoner Chick'

don't you just love those pick 'n' mix letters, and that washi?

If you want to see more of these projects, head over to the designers blogs for more detail on these projects!

don't forget to subscribe to this blog, to keep up to date with all the news, first peeks at the new releases, inspirational posts and the monthly crafter's challenge
&
for more inspiration by the karleigh sue team, Cheri's coloristas and the coloring community  (and to share your own adult colorings), head over to the
coloring Queen-dom, our adult coloring book on facebook!

we hope to see you soon!

Let the Purple Rain

Ok so I was only going to post one project today, but I have been feeling creatively inspired , so have been busy at my craft table, bopping along to the greatest hits of Prince on my ipod, still feeling a little shocked about the sad news of his death earlier this week. He was a total icon, and his music never fails to make me smile, bringing back many memories of my teenage years.

Cheri has drawn her own tribute image to the legend, called  Let the Purple Rain and I didn't feel a card was the right project for this, so decided to do a page in my art journal in tribute.

I had no idea exactly how I wanted it to evolve, but I did have an idea of the supplies I wanted to use!

Various masks and music note stamps

Paints ( purple of course!), inks and texture paste for dimension.

Copics and gel pans to colour the main image

I set to work, splodging paint and paste around and it all started to come together on it's own. I'm not a crafter who sees a project in my head before I make it, so my process can be a bit random to say the least at times! I printed some rather appropriate lyrics from his hit 'Let's Go Crazy' and added them to the finished page, along with a white die cut dove, which I added a little teardrop to.

I do hope he is resting peacefully in the world of never ending happiness of which he spoke.

Thanks for the music and memories Prince.

Sleep tight
