Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Abby & Walter

Hi Everyone,

I'm here sharing a card made with the adorable digi named Abby and Walter's Birthday Wishes by Michelle Perkett. Isn't this image just crazy sweet?  I took my inspiration from the papers that I chose and colored the image with Copics to match.

Of course Sparkle N Sprinkle has oodles of glitter choices, so I knew that I would find matching colors for the sparkly strips.  Green Nugget (G1065) glitter and 1/2" Tear-iffic Tape (SAT04) are what I used there, and my die cut flower was made using Pink Spirit (SS108) Sparkle N Soft  and Gypsy Red (GM2005) Velvet Glitter.

If you like this image, you're going to want to check out the traditional rubber stamp set by the same name. It has more super cute images and sentiments that mix and match!  And as always, full card details can be found in my gallery here.

And just a reminder, to check out the challenge blog here.  There's still time to play along this month!
Thanks for stopping by :)

Boo Thank You Treats

Hi Everyone!
Tomorrow I have 12 ladies coming to my house to make cards for Operation Write Home. EEK!  I have been so swamped designing, cutting and prepping everything for the event.  I knew it would be time consuming going in, but then when I actually started doing everything, I'm thinking  maybe I will prepare farther in advance next time.  Well, being gone for vacation, and then coming home sick really didn't help things either.

Anyway, I was really glad to make these quick treat bags as favors for everyone to take home, and once again I'm using an image from my favorite Lindsay's Stamp Stuff set of the season, Vintage Halloween Labels
I stamped my glassine bag using a traditional stamp in Stazon.  My skull image was sized on the computer to fit my punch, so after copying and pasting it multiple times, I printed it out on orange paper. Hurray, no coloring required! (I CASED this idea from my teammate Cheryl...Thanks, Cheryl!)

Here they all are in the basket, ready to be taken home.
How's that for an easy peasy idea?

I know I've shown this set before, but it deserves all the the glory...So here it is again :)

Make sure you see what Lindsay and the rest of the design team has to show you for this week....

A Haunting We Will Go...

Hi Everyone!

Are you ready for another Halloween card from me today?  This is from the set Creepy Crow by Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and I love this image with the scraggly tree...Very creepy and perfect for this time of year!

I was so excited to see the challenge this week at Cinema Saturday was The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the requirement was to use a tree...Yay!  It has been a long time since I have been able to participate and it's one of my favorite challenges.

To make this card, I masked off sky at an angle, sponged on brown ink to create the ground, then swapped it for the bottom and sponged on a moon and sky.

I had this traditional stamp with spooky eyes, so I created a background using that...
and a piece of digital paper from the set School Papers (See, not just for school projects!)  also from Lindsay's Shop.  After I completed the card, something seemed to be missing, and that's when I added the sentiment with another traditional stamp.  Yay, done.

Here is a total look at both of those sets:

Lindsay and the rest of the design team are full of ideas this week...Visit them today for more inspiration!

Cute as a Button

Hi Everyone!

Today the design team for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is honoring one of our own.  Our teammate Tamara is having a baby boy, so today we are showering her with some cards made with stamps from Lindsay's store.  Isn't that a great idea?  Surprise Tamara!

I used the set Babies and Bows for my card today.  I love the color combo of blue and yellow for a baby boy.

Here is a closer look at the glossy effects I added to the buttons.  They are even better than real ones because they're easier to mail :)
The image panel and sentiment are up on pop dots and the patterned paper is from the Shabby Houndstooth collection, also found in Lindsay's shop.

Here is a peek at both collections:

Congrats again Tamara, I can't wait to see the baby photos!  For now, stop by and visit Lindsay and the design team blogs below for more baby card ideas!

New Amber Ink Challenge Blog

Hi Again!

Did you know that Amber Ink has a new challenge blog?  The challenge started last week while I was away, but the good thing is, each challenge lasts 3 weeks... Phew!  Plenty of time left to join in the fun :) Now that I have passed along my torch, I am free to play along for prizes too! Yay!

The very first challenge issued is to make something pertaining to the theme of "Books".  Now to participate you are required to use one Amber Ink product...Not hard...Have you seen the affordable digis over there?
I chose to make a bookmark using some of her Wine Spots iPaper.  Now, I did use an image from my stash of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, but once I put on my thinking cap (remember doing that in elementary school?) I was able to add the sentiment from the set Grow Green.  I feel all creative when I manage to think outside the box and it actually turns out like I hoped..lol!

The perfect thing to add to a teacher's thank you note, don't you think?

Unless you want me to win the prize, put on you thinking cap and join the challenge :)

Other challenges this project is linked to are as follows:
Bee Crafty-Ribbon
Aly's Sunday Challenge-Dots
Crafty Inspirations-Bookmark
Cutie Sunday-Anything But a Card
Stamping for the Weekend-Anything but a Card
Hand Stamped Sentiments-Anything but a Card

Scary Pumpkins

Edit to add: There is a 40% off sale at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff today only!

Hi Friends!

Today is Lindsay's Stamp Stuff day on the ole blog-o, and my card was made using an image from her set Cute Halloween.  I must confess, I made this card back in the winter.  I was just bored and wanted to make something "just because".  If you make a Halloween card in the middle of February, it's definitely a just
for the fun of crafting kind of thing...lol!

Anyway, Rod has been taking some vacation days last week and this, so it was great to have something new  to post, without actually making anything...Love it when stuff works out like that.
I like it that this image of the pumpkins have faces that are carved.  It let me color the the eyes yellow, so that it looks like light shining through them. I also roughed up the edges of my papers, I guess I was trying to add to the whole scary, halloween-y feel.

Here is a look at the entire set:

Well, that's it for me folks.  With Rod off of work, I have to make it quick, but be sure to check out Lindsay's blog (You can always count on a freebie from her!) and the rest of the design team too!

It's probably too early to say Happy Halloween, so just have a nice day. Thanks for the visit!

Driving by...

Hi Everyone!

Today is my posting day for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and I decided I need a masculine card for my birthday card stash.  This Steampunk set is perfect for guy cards, and I'm using this vintage looking car/truck for my card.

I did my usual thing and added a sentiment with a traditional stamp from my stash.

Here is a closer look at the image which was super easy to color using pencils and a blender pen.

A look at all the images in the set...

Vintage Dress

Hi Crafty Peoples!

A few of my team mates went to CHA and were kind enough to share their photos of the big event. So many new exciting products will be hitting the stores and I know it will be hard to keep cash in my pocket when they do.

So until those money sucking things arrive, I was inspired by the vintage and Paris themed paper items I saw and decided to use a freebie that Lindsay (from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff) had on her blog recently.

The base of my card is acetate (not sure if it show up too well in the photo, pretty cool in real life tho') and the Eiffel Tower was stamped using Stazon.
Isn't this vintage dress image a great freebie?  I couldn't wait to use it...so feminine and pretty!  I colored the dress with Copics, and created the dots with my colorless blender.  I decided it needed some bling, so I spritzed the entire image with some spray called Shimmerz.  There are a ton of products like this on the market, and I know people even make their own...I was just too lazy to research how to do it.

Here is a close up of the effect.  I added those circular stickers (from Basic Grey) because the colors matched the dress and flourish, but rhinestones may have been more appropriate. Oh well, C'est la vie!  (I have no clue if I spelled that correctly and my spell check doesn't speak French either..lol)

If you like this freebie, make sure you stop by Lindsay's blog, because she will be offering another free item  today.  If you like the style of this image, why not check out her set of Steampunk Style digis?

This set is available for $5.00 in her shop Lindsay's Stamp Stuff at My Grafico.

Thanks for visiting and see what fun, crafty things the rest of the design team has created this week!

Adorable Onesie

Hi Friends!

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for another card using some stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  This week I chose to use an image from this set named On the Line.  This set has 19 different images in it!

I used the image of the baby onesie and paper pieced the outfit. I think it's nice to have a baby card in your stash of stuff, so you can grab and go at a moments notice.

The word on the front was a traditional stamp...
This is a close up of the twine which serves as my clothes line.  I tried making it gender neutral since I don't have a specific baby in mind for my card, but it still came out girlie to me.  Oh well.  I still like it and think it's cute!

FYI: If you click on the photo at the top of my side bar, it will take you to a set of digis that a group of My Grafico designers created together.  Lindsay was one of them, and all proceeds from the purchase of this set go to Stitching for Pink an organization which supports breast cancer research.  Shopping with no guilt :)

Challenges this card is linked to are as follows:

Strawberries and Tuesday Morning Sketches

Good Morning All!

This week Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is sponsoring the challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

All you have to do to play along, is choose your favorite sketch from the previous sketches and you could be the winner of a set of stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!

This is the sketch I chose to use...
My card today uses an image from the set Strawberries and Watermelon.  Goodness, I wish the summer fruit season lasted longer, don't you?  I get so tired of apples and bananas in the winter.  The berries don't seem to have the same sweet taste in the off season.  These look good enough to eat right off the card, lol.

I made this little pinwheel embellishment to fit the challenge on the CARDS blog, which was of course, pinwheels!
Also, I finally used this border punch I got after this past Christmas.  It was one of those things I *had* to have, and here it took me over half a year to use it.  Sigh. So typical of me.  It is cute on this card though, and it kind of reminds me of those paper doilies.

Here is a look at the entire set.

The entire design team from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is using a their favorite sketch from Tuesday Morning.  Stop by their blogs for some inspiration and link up your card for a chance to win!

The Real B-Day Card and the Blog Candy Winner

Hi Everyone!

If you were here last week, you know it was Lindsay's birthday.  The design team from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff all posted birthday cards in honor of her.  I didn't want Lindsay to see what her card that I made her looked like before she got it in the mail, so I couldn't post the real one.  Until today.

This is the card I made for her using her own set Crafty Tools and Puns and a sentiment which is a traditional stamp.
Isn't this a cute image for a crafty friend?  I used the same paper as I did on the card from last week,

and I tried to capture the embossing I did on the cup and scissor handle in the close up.

Here is a look at the entire set...That's 16 digi stamps for only $5.00.

Make sure you visit Lindsay and the rest to the DT blogs today, and scroll down to see if you won my blog candy from last week.

Birthday Sale & Blog Candy

Hi Friends!

Because it's Lindsay's special day, the design team has created birthday cards in her honor.  I chose to use the cupcake tree image from the set Sweet Stuff.   Who doesn't love a cupcake?   I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch for my starting point,

and Lindsay's own projects are always so bright and vibrant, these papers just seems so appropriate for her birthday.

Her is a look at the entire set of sweet, sugary treats in the set of stamps.

Happy Birthday Lindsay!  I hope you day is filled with everything that your heart desires.

Stop by her blog and leave her some well wishes and don't forget to check out the rest of the birthday themed creations from the design team!

I also have a personal birthday message of sorts.  This coming week is the birthday of my blog.  Yes, on July 15th of last year, just a random Wednesday, I decided to start a blog.  I really didn't have any grand plan, I didn't even have a digital camera. Can you believe it?  I just decided to try and maybe learn something new.  Here it is a year later and I'm kinda proud of myself that I never gave up.

It's certainly not the grandest of blogs, but it is all mine :) So, to celebrate I'm offering up some humble candy in the form of stamps, ink and bling.

A better view of the stamps from Hero Arts.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment and I will enter you.  Just check back and see if you are the random winner on next Thursday July 15th.
