A New Pixie Dust Challenge and a New Release

We have an exciting day for you at Pixie Dust Studio where we have the release of the gorgeous Lovestruck collection and also the new Pixie Dust Challege where the theme is hearts, so we are looking for hearts somewhere on your project - either in the image, on the DP or in your embellishments, so a nice easy one to get all those valentine cards started.

The image that I have used on my card here is called Heart Garden and you can get her in the shop Here now. The sketch that I have followed is the current one at Sketch Saturday.

Here are the rest of the gorgeous collection for you to have a look at

Have fun

New Home card

I have a couple of people that know who are about to move house real soon, so I have taken the opportunity to get one of the cards done. For this one I have used the gorgeous Bird House from the Orange Bird Studios collection at Squiggle Stamps which is available Here in rubber and also Here in digi format.

I have teamed the image with some gorgous glittery First Edition papers and a couple of flowers by prima. I have used the image for a New House card, but it would work just as well for a birthday or thank you card - in fact probably just about any occasion would work. The sketch that I have followed is the current one at Sketch Saturday.

Have a great week.

Pixie Dust Challenge #68 - Fluttering Wings

Our challenge to you this week at Pixie Dust Challenge is - "Fluttering Wings" - create a card/project featuring butterflies, pixies, bugs, etc. Anything with wings!

I have probably pushed the boundaries a bit with this card - but my excuse is that I have decided that these are little birds that are sitting on this guardsman's bearskin and shoes and they must have wings!!

This cute image is Tweet Guardsman from the brand new British Invasion release and isn't he just perfect for getting in the mood for celebrating the upcoming Royal Wedding here in the UK.

The papers that I have used are by doodlebug and the Union Jack was a free digi download. The ribbon was the last little bit that I had left of my gorgeous Kath Kidson stash - must get some more of that as it is just the most wonderful ribbon.

I have followed the sketch this week at Sketch Saturday

I do hope that you get some time to join us this week in the challenge - you can real all about it and see the gorgeous cards from the DT this week Here.

Have fun

Thinking of You

I have a card to share with you today which features the Love Birds stamp from the Orange Bird Studio range. The sketch that I have followed is the current one at Sketch Saturday

These colours are not colours that I usually work with, but I am really pleased with the finished card and may now even be a fan of blue and green together.

I have put a "thinking of you" sentiment on this card as then it could be used for almost any occasion, but I think that this card would be especially good for Weddings, Anniversaries etc. Such a great little sentiment I think.

Have a great week and please remember that you still have just over one week to enter our Spring themed challenge at Squiggle Stamps which you can read all about Here.

Have a great week.

True Love for Sketch Saturday

Here we are, Monday morning again and time to share a card with you today featuring one of the new images which are now availble in the Squiggle Stamps shop. This gorgeous image is called True Love and is is available in digi format Here. What a gorgeous wedding couple they make.

The papers that I have used are all by Basic Grey. These are not colours that I would normally use, but thanks for my friend Kate who picked them out for me, I am really happy with the result and I will certainly give this colour theme a go again. The flowers are all by Prima and the sketch that I have followed is the current one at Sketch Saturday.

Have a great week.

Sketch Saturday Snowman

Just a quick post this morning as I am just about to head off to a conference and will be there for most of the day.

Here is my card that I have made with the sketch over at Sketch Saturday. This one was inspired by the beautiful card the my friend Judy made as my Guest DT member over at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week. I featured this card on my blog on Tuesday and I just love what she did with it. I don't have the Mo Manning image that she used (but I will need to get it!) so I used this cute little snowman and then maksed him to also stamp the tree. Sorry I can't tell you who this cute little set is by, they came in a CD type box which was a bit broken so I threw it out and so don't have the name (I will find out and post this later). DP is by My Minds Eye and the snowflakes a combination of Martha Stewart punch and cuttlebug die.

I am heading off for the day tomorrow to Simply Create in Alford with Tracy from Squiggle Stamps as she is having a Bo Bunny demo day there. I have wanted to get over to Jacqui's shop for ages and am really excited about my day out. Will let you know all about it on Sunday.

More Gingerbread

Here is the card that I was making as my DT card for Copics Colour Challenge this week. It was only after I had finished the front and I was feeling really smug that I had got it done in plenty of time for the challege that I discovered that I had used the wrong sketch. I had printed off the one for Sketch Saturday as well as the Copics one and had by mistake used the wrong one. I then left this card and made the correct one before coming back to finish off this one.

I so love these gingerbread people and these Heidi Grace papers are just pefect with these images. As I already said, the sketch is this week's one at Sketch Saturday and what a great sketch it is. The big brads are by Imaginsce and ribbons from my stash.

I have carried the same papers through to the inside and the little recipie was printed straight onto the DP on the computer.

This picture shows the normal sized card that I had made along with the mini one that I had posted earlier for Copics Colour Challenge.
I hope you like them both as much as I do.

Sketch Saturday with new Sugar Nellie

Sorry, really quick post today as I am off to Aberdeen to deliver the kids Christmas presents and should have left 15 minutes ago.

Another great sketch this week and I have taken the opportunity to use one of the fabulous new Elizabeth Bell images from Sugar Nellie which are now in stock along with the fantastic new designs from Leanne Ellis. DP is Basic Grey Euphoria and other bits and pieces from my stash.

Have a great Sunday.

Thanks for looking.

Sketch Saturday #27

This is my entry for this weeks Sketch Saturday which is another great one. I have used A Partridge in a Pear Tree by Sugar Nellie and I think that she looks lovely all dressed up in her pretty party dress.

DP by Basic Grey Dasher and the sentiment is also Sugar Nellie. Ribbon, jewels and blooms from my stash.

I woke up to lots of lovely snow this morning in Elgin, but by the time that I got to Inverness for work this morning there was nothing here at all. Not sure what the forecast is for the rest of the day.

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #26

I am going off on holiday on 13th December, so am frantically trying to get all my Christmas cards and shopping sorted out prior to this. I am heading off to Dubai for 5 days with my sister. I get back on the evening of 19th December and then my husband and I are off to our place in Spain on 20th December for Christmas and New Year. I thought that I was quite organised this year, but now it all seems like a bit of a panic. I have my aunt and uncle still here from California and they don't leave until this Saturday - so not much getting done at the moment, but it has been really good to spend time with them.

I have taken the opportunity to use this weeks sketch on Sketch Saturday to get another Christmas card done. Image by Magnolia, sentiment by Woodware, DP is basic grey Wassail and ribbon, jewels and flowers from my stash.

All our snow has now gone, but it is really cold here today.

Thanks for looking.

Cute Card Thursday with Sketch from Sketch Saturday

Here is my card for Cute Card Thursday which is angels and fairies this week. I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday which is a great one and a fairly simple on, but looks great when finished.

I have used Basic Grey Dasher again - I just love these traditional colours. Magnolia stamp is one of the New Christmas ones and at long last I have managed to track down some nice Christmas Flowers. I went to the local Garden Centre at the weekend and managed to find a poinsetta garland thing which I have now taken apart. Took me ages as there must be about 60 flowers and leaves on it. This should keep me going as I also managed to find a couple of other stems which I still need to dismantle. This garland was a snip at £5 which I thought was excellent for the number of flowers I will get from it.

I returned to work last Thursday and had forgotten how difficult it is to keep up to date with blogging while trying to fit work in. So, I apologise for not being up to date with my blog - I know that a couple of people have sent awards to me and also someone has tagged me - I promise I will get round to it over the next couple of days.

I have also just finished a commission for a local flower shop for some Christmas Cards. My husband has gone to drop them off today so I hope they are happy with them and hopefully more orders will follow from this initial one. Their theme for their beautiful windows and displays is traditional red, green and gold so I really enjoyed this one and have only made one of each design for them so as to keep them special.

I would also like to thank everyone who left lovely comments on my blog while I have been off work - they were very much appreciated.

Over and out!!

Sketch Saturday #23

The sketch this week was the first one from Coco and it is a great one to follow. I have used Braveheart who is one of the new Soft Centre range from Sugar Nellie. I have used basic grey Urban Prairie and coloured this cute little cat with promarkers and flowers are prima, brads are doodlebug.

This sketch was a bit more work than usual due to the circles one of which I wanted to be a bit bigger that my biggest nestability die, but I think the finished card was well worth the work. The sketch has two ribbon elements on it and I think you can just about see the second one which is under the flowers at the bottom of the card.

Thanks for looking.

Sketch Saturday #21

Here is my card for Sketch Saturday this week. I am just loving this image which my daughter Stephanie kindly gave to me. I think it is a whippersnapper and if you are looking at this post Stephanie can you please bring it with you when you come to visit next week. The papers are Doodlebug and I have added some stickles to the red one to give it a bit of bling. Flowers are prima as usual.

It took me ages to make this card as I have run out of double sided tape and had to use glue and wait for it to dry between each layer - and I had forgotten how messy it is working with glue!. I can't drive for 2 weeks after having had my op so will have to hope that I can persuade my husband to run me over to Papercrafts Boutique at lunch-time otherwise I think I may go crazy!.

Thanks for looking.

Sketch Saturday and Our Creative Corner

I have followed the sketch by Gill over on Sketch Saturday for this card which also fits in with the challenge on Our Creative Corner which is bling on the bling.

These are not the colours I would usually use but I was struggling to know what to use with this new Sugar Nellie snow couple stamp.

All these new Sugar Nellie Christmas stamps are now available on the Funky Kits website (link on the right).

I think they look really cute and the paper looks snowy I think.

It has been a really cold day here today, so I have spent most of it inside sorting out my craft stuff and having a play around with papers and layouts. My husband has been working today, so I have had lots of time to myself which has been lovely.

Sketch Saturday & Cute Card Thursday

I have made this card which fits 2 challenges. I struggled a bit with the sketch on Sketch Saturday as I did not have a stamp the right size and ended up having to turn the sketch through 180 degrees so that the sentiment runs down the right hand side rather than along the bottom.
The challenge on Cute Card Thursday is to make an animal Christmas Card and I have used another of these cute Forever Friends stamps, this one being part of the Christmas 3 piece set, The small presents are also one of the Forever Friends range of stamps and I have masked off part of another one of these stamps to get the sentiment. I think the papers are doodlebug, but I may be wrong with the striped one.
