Best Wishes...

Hi everyone

I am popping in today to share my latest card created using some Darkroom Door Stamps and a Stencil that I have had in my stash for a while.

For my card I firstly taped my Bristol Board card base to my stencil and then taped this to my glass mat.  I applied Kitsch Flamingo and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide through the stencil and then using my Blossom stamp, inked it with Morning Mist Versa Clair,  stamped through the stencil before removing it from my mat.

I then stamped my Robin onto some Bristol Board and cut out using a stitched circle die and applied to the front of my card with foam tape to create some dimension, then applied my sentitment to finish.  I love the colours and final finish.

Carved Leaves....

Today I am dropping in to share some inspiration and have chosen to use Distress oxides and a stencil from Darkroom Door to create my background for my masculine card.

Firstly I applied in patches Dried Marigold, Wild Honey, Rustic Wilderness & Salvaged Patina, then smooshed Walnut Stain and Salvaged Patina.  When my background was completely dry I sponged Clear Versamark through the stencil and applied Clear Embossing Powder.  After embossing I then inked the entire background with Archival Black Soot and then wiped over the embossed areas to remove the ink.  To seal my background I then applied Distress Glaze.

The birthday words were applied with clear embossing powder then reinked and lightly sprinkled with a gold embossing powder.

Lots of inky fun, I was inspired by a Simon Hurley video recently viewed, Josephs Coat colouring technique and you can find the link to youtube here.

Supplies used:

Lawn Fawn Die - Large Stitched Rectangles

Paper Rose Die - Stitched Rectangles

Darkroom Door Stencil -  Carved Leaves DDSS0026

Darkroom Door Stamp - Happy Birthday DDSE001

Distress Oxides

Wild Honey, Dried Marigold, Rustic Wilderness, Savaged Patina & Walnut Stain

Tim Holtz Distress Glaze

Clear & Ancient Gold Embossing Powder

Trees...

Hi popping in today to share a new card.

I have been mulling this idea around for some time on how I would use the Tim Holtz thinlits dies - Stacked Hexagons that I have in my stash.  The card didn't turn out quite like I anticipated, but I was happy with the result.

After stamping out the trees on my inked background I cut them out with the Hexagon dies and then edged them with the Finnabair Aged Brass wax.  This made the image pop.

Supplies used:

Darkroom Door Stamp DDRS018 - Trees
Sizzix Tim Holtz  Thinlit dies - Stacked Tiles Hexagons
(Not listed but can be ordered if available)
Creative Expressions Die Mini Expressions - Belated Birthday Wishes
(not listed but can be ordered if available)
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads - Carved Pumpkin, Peacock Feathers & Chipped Sapphire
Finnabair alchemy waxes - Aged Brass

Butterfly Wishes....

Hi everyone, dropping in today to share my latest creation.

I have been playing with Tim Holtz Distress Paints, I placed small dots of Kitsch Flamingo and  Carved Pumpkin onto my slip mat and then spritzed  with water.  I then dabbed my watercolour paper onto the paint until I had the desired look.  After drying with my heat tool I added splatters of Salvaged Patina, spritzed lightly and then dried, before stamping on my Butterflies.  Very happy with how my card turned out.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versamark and then applied White Embossing Powder.

Gerbera Daisy Greetings....

 Hi - Hello.

I have been doing some repotting of my plants prior to any rain and wind from cyclone Seroja which has created devestation in our Mid North West last night and pulled a muscle in my side and just couldn't craft for the last few days.   So after feeling much better this morning I finished off my card  and  I am popping in now to share it with you all.

I have been playing with masking paper and copics and a stamp set from Darkroom Doors release last year.  To help me do the background I stamped two gerberas onto masking paper and used these to help me set out my design.  After colouring all the gerberas I coloured with background with Copic black 100.

I created a frame in the centre which I popped up onto foam tape to create dimension and a faux aperture/window and then stamped and embossed my sentiment into the window on my background.

Darkroom Door Stamp - Gerbera Daisy DDRS213

Teacups....

 Hi everyone.

Dropping in  today to share my new card.   I have been having a play with emboss resist.  This is another old technique but have seen a few cards lately using the technique, so thought I would give it a go.

Firstly I used Distress Oxides in pinks from darkest to lightest,  then when dry brushed over the entire card with my embossing buddy.  I  used a background stamp with Versamark and clear embossing powder over the top of the Distress Oxides.  When dry I buffed up the embossing lines to make it a more shiny.

My teacups were also first stamped in Memento Black and then re stamped with clear embossing powder to match the background.  The teacups were then coloured with copic markers.  Unfortunately the pink background behind my teacups has photograph quite peachy but is pink in real life.

 Supplies used:

Darkroom Door Stamp - Teacups DDPS046

Darkroom Door Background Stamp - Scratches DDBS012

Avery Elle die - Wonky Stitches

(very similary to the new MFT Die - Wonky Stitched Rectangles)

Penny Black Die - Hello

Distress Oxides - Kitsch Flamingo, Worn Lipstick & Spun Sugar

Copic Markers

Thanks for looking.

We hope that you can join us at Bizzy Becs for this months Anything Goes Challenge - we love seeing your creations.

Cherish....

For my inspiration today I have been wanting to get back into the mixed media for while, and having spent the weekend watching lots of different artists, it has inspired me to get back into it.  I have thoroughly enjoyed completing my mixed media art tag.

I have used some old inks, gesso, 3rd texture beads, patterned paper, a feather, heshion, some sewing and stamps from Darkroom Door to complete my tag, which is on corrugated cardboard.

There are so many things to cherish and be grateful for, now more than ever, so  when I found this very old chipboard title I knew that I had to use it on my tag.

Darkroom Door Stamp - Hearts
Darkroom Door Stamp - French Script
Darkroom Door Stamp - Robin
Ranger Archival Ink Pad - Jet Black
Ayeeda mists - Pastel Turquoise &  Pearl Turquoise & Patina Bronze

Until next time - Happy Crafting
