Halloween ATC

There's a reason there's a "T" on this Halloween ATC. And that's because it's made specifically for Tim Holtz who will be our teacher on the cruise next month. How daunting is that, making something for Tim Holtz himself? All in all though, I'm happy with it.

Arty Girlz Challenge

I'm into making Valentines this year with hearts and lace and that kind of stuff. Reminds me of when we were kids and used to cut out hearts and use doilies to make our Valentines. I've not grown up that much I guess..lol.

The challenge at Arty Girlz blog today is to create an ATC which is simple enough. I used that challenge to create two valentine ATC's which I could then turn into cards.

The images I've used are from CollageVisions.

December Calendar

I fell in love with these mini calendars by Jenny Bowlin so decided to make a yearly arty calendar for myself. I've done November and now this is December.
When I've made all twelve I will mount them on chipboard and bind them with two metal rings at the top.
Some years, some months the dates will actually align:).
This seems to fit within today's challenge at Arty Girlz to make art to decorate your home.
I actually have seen this Christmas that more and more of the decorations around my home are made by me.

Arty Girlz Challenge

Arty Girlz challenged us this week to find inspiration from someone's blog. I immediately thought of Heather's blog. When I went to her blog, I smiled when I saw her lovely winter card.

I love snow, I love winter, I love winter cards. So I was inspired to make a card of my own using these fabulous winter stamps from Oxford Impressions.

Arty Girl Challenge

This is the top of a box I altered. Unfortunately, there's not enough light to photograph the whole thing this morning, but I can scan the top of it. This is for today's Arty Girlz challenge to create something using numbers. Which I have done on my measuring tape and on my clock.

The collage stamp is by Paperbag Studios -- one of my favorite "male" stamps.

Arty Girlz Challenge

The challenge at Arty Girlz today is to create using clip art. I've had these two pieces I've been meaning to post. On both of them I used what I hope is considered clip art.......This first one is a vintage booklet that has two envelopes inside with tags that can be used for greetings or photos.

This second piece is a chipboard photo holder.

Happy Birthday

I realized this morning when I woke up that I need to make two birthday cards to go in the mail today!
This quick card was inspired by Arty Girlz Challenge to use shapes. I think I've accomplished that with triangles, circles, rectangles, squares.
One more card to go.....

I created this birthday card this weekend for DH's co-worker. It's very hard to make a card for someone you know nothing about I think. But I had decided to do a bit of naked stamping for this card's background. I also made a postage inchie in the same way. I added an image from Crafty Secrets for the greeting.

Coincidentally, the challenge today at Arty Girlz is to use no store bought patterned paper!

Stamps used: Paperbag Studios, Hero Arts, Paper Inspirations, Hampton Arts, Making Memories.

Arty Girlz Challenge

When I saw the challenge this week at Arty Girlz was to create something "vintage," I knew Id be joining in right away. I created this card using an image from my friend, Sarah. I also did some stitching which should make Jacqueline smile as I vehemently told her I would never use an iron or sewing machine for cardmaking. I did do the sewing by hand, however, just a couple stitches.

Arty GirlZ Challenge

I used a stamp from River City Rubber Works to create this "male" card which is the theme from Arty Girlz Challenge Blog today. I thought the cork and metal worked well with a male theme as well.
You can check out the submissions here: http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/.

Arty Girlz Challenge

Minus the flowers, I made this card last night. When I checked the challenge for Arty Girlz this morning, I was amazed. They have a sketch challenge this week (a great sketch), and it looks like I made my card from it.

I think the card can go with or without the flowers, but I really like that sketch and think I'll fool around with it some more.

Stamps by Paperbag Studios. Paper is by Making Memories.

A Touch of Pink

In some cases, maybe more than just a touch:) Nonetheless, I have always loved pink and black together. Here are some mini notes I created which fit the "Touch of Pink" challenge from Arty Girlz this week. Embellishments from Heidi Swapp. Stamps from Studio G/Hampton Arts.

Arty Girlz Challenge

"Faces" is the theme that was set this week at Arty Girlz challenge blog. I love the face from this newly acquired collage stamp from Inkadinkado. I cut her out and added her to a masterboard I had previously created (see below for more about that).
...and another sneak peek!
Yes, another card made from the masterboard I created for the big stamping weekend coming up at 2 Peas in a Bucket, June 14th-June 21st. You can see my challenge here. Please come over and check out all the different challenges (many including RAK prizes.) That always gets my attention! Right now there are over 30 challenges posted.

Something Pretty

There is an "open theme" at the Arty Girlz Challenge blog this week, so my desire was to just make a pretty card. I ended up stamping this image by Stamp Francisco with Brilliance Pearlescent Purple onto Memory Box paper. It really just shimmers on the page. I added assorted ephemera, including stamped images by Hero Arts, Technique Tuesday, and Studio G.

Bookmark

I love creating stamped backgrounds -- which just happens to be a challenge this week at the Arty Girlz challenge blog. Lots of beautiful creations to see there.

I made these bookmarks for the women in my Bible study group. The background was created by applying gold brilliance ink to my paper as well as brown chalk ink around the edges. I then stamped my bookmark with stamps from Paper Inspirations (diamond pattern, flowers), Hero Arts (French script), and Art Impressions (Scripture verse).
