Heart{Felt} Handmade

Wednesday, January 6, 2016

Hello!
I have a card to share today for the PTI Make It Monday Challenge.  The first MIM challenge of the year is to choose any past challenge from 2015.  I chose the Embellishing With Felt Challenge.  Are you participating? Which challenge did you choose?

I started by die cutting the medium heart, from the Heart Prints Dies, from three colors of felt.  Each heart was die cut again using the Simon Says Stamp Banded Tree Die.  I took a few pieces from each color and pieced together one heart.  Using a negative die cut of the same heart temporarily adhered to the card front, I glued in the heart strips.  Once all of the felt pieces were in place, I removed the negative die cut.  I embellished the front with flourishes from the Fancy Flourishes stamp set.  I added a sentiment from Love Lives Here on a banner die cut.  A few more felt hearts finish it off!

A Winter Menagerie

Thursday, November 19, 2015

This week's PTI Make It Monday is Motif Building!  I love it and had to join.  I used this adorable Warmest Wishes stamp set to stamp my menagerie of winter animals!

I decided to just add shadow to the animals with a grey copic and add pops of color with their accessories.  I added rhinestones to each snowflake for some sparkle.   My sentiments  are stamped on fun banners and a little black cardstock peeks out from behind for some contrast.

 Thanks for coming by today!

Stamping Focal Clusters

Friday, October 23, 2015

This week's Make It Monday is stamping focal clusters.  This was the perfect opportunity to create simple and easy birthday cards to build up  my stash.

I created two in the pink/red color scheme for a more feminine look.

Then I created two similar cards in a blue/red masculine color combo.  They all came together really quickly after work today.

 Have a great weekend!
Check out all of the great additions to the

Just getting a project in under the wire for several challenges. {linked below}  I've been working on the new release for WPlus9 that will be available for purchase on October 5th!  Great holiday sets that I'm sure you'll love. Peeks start October 1st.  As always, though, Instagram is a great way to get a look before the official release week begins.  Dawn has done some amazing water coloring with some of the new stamps!  I also have a fun post coming up on the first with a special collaboration project with...
You'll have to wait and see!

I hope you're having a great weekend.

Anything Is Possible

Tuesday, August 18, 2015

Hello again!
I finally had time to get into my craft room today.  It felt good after having about a week off. I decided to join Papertrey Ink for their Make It Monday: Masked SentimentsI created a mask with a circle die and used the new ink colors from WPlus9 to stamp my images.  I used Daydreamer, an all time favorite PTI set. OK, time to start dinner.  Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolor Over Die Cuts

Tuesday, July 21, 2015

Today I'm joining Papertrey Ink for their weekly
Make It Monday Challenge: Watercolor with Die Cut Stencils.

I used a die, called Text Black Party,  to create my stencil.  I die cut it from a sheet of masking paper.  I placed the stencil, or mask, onto white cardstock and burnished it with my bone folder.  I used dye ink as my watercolor.  I swiped several ink pads onto my craft mat and spritzed them with water.  I then dipped the cardstock into the colors, letting them drip and pool.  I allowed it to dry before adding more colors.  At the end, I added splatters of color using a paintbrush loaded with ink tapped against my bone folder.

My second card started out the same way, but rather than smoosh the cardstock into the dye ink watercolor, I brushed each color on in horizontal stripes.

I added the same splatters as before and then allowed them both to dry completely before removing the mask.   Once the masks were removed I was able to do some stamping and embellishing.

I used Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal and Ocean Tides ink to create my watercolors.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Colored Cover Plates

Monday, June 29, 2015

More diagonal stripes.....  I just love how they look as a backdrop.  This card was inspired by Laura's Make It Monday: Adding Color To Cover Plates.  For my card I used a cover plate from WP9 called Birds and Branches.  I die cut it from white paper and colored it with Copic Markers.  I decided to trim off the border around it and adhere it to a piece of cardstock that had been stenciled and then die cut with SSS Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I added some stamped details using a sentiment and images from PTI Beautiful Butterflies stamp set.  One of my all time favorites!

Inside Out

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

I had so much fun making this one.  Layering up all of the elements, blending the ink for the sky, matching up the inside and outside, and creating two scenes using the same background.  This week's Make It Monday is about bringing the inside of the card out.

One of my grey copics needs refilling and I don't have the refill so I had to make do.  Guess I need to place an order for crafty stuff...darn! ;)

This is one of my all-time favorite PTI sets.  I just love it.

Thanks so much for stopping by again today.
See you later!

Relax!

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

Happy Hump Day!
I created this Copic background in a color combination that I love;  mostly grey and yellow with a little bit of blue.  I pretty much love grey with anything.

I'm looking forward to this Memorial Day weekend.  I have a half day on Friday and no school on Monday!  There are so many great festivals going on: craft, food, antiques, music.  Hopefully we'll get to one.  I'd love to do a little hiking with Piper, too.  The weather is supposed to be beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by.
Any good weekend plans?

White On White With A Pop Of Color

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Hello! Happy Wednesday.  A big rain storm is on it's way. Our grass is a beautiful bright green so these April showers are worth it.

I absolutely loved Lexi's Make It Monday this week.  Her samples were beautiful and I couldn't wait to look through my dies and choose something for this white on white design. After adhering several die cuts to my panel, I die cut the whole thing with the Love Mom Layers die from WPlus9.

Hope you're having a great week!
