Summer Sunshine

Monday, March 27, 2017

I had the day off today.  I was alone and the house was quiet.  You know what that means...crafting!  I was really in the mood to color.  I pulled out this set by Paper Smooches called Summer Lovin' because I wanted to daydream about warm weather.

I colored all of these images with Copics and cut them out, with scissors! How long has it been since I've done that.  Everything has coordinating dies these days we don't often have the opportunity to 'fussy' cut.  It was actually relaxing!

Each piece got a coating of clear Wink Of Stella glitter.  I set the scenes on a backdrop of ink blended color.  I mixed Peacock Feathers and Broken China Distress Ink.  Each card has a little surprise image on the inside too.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Brighten Your Day

Sunday, November 8, 2015

Good Morning!
I was inspired by Jennifer's confetti stamping for this one.  I stamped the various sized hearts as well as the sentiment in versamark ink and embossed them in white on watercolor paper.  I started by stamping the sentiment and adding embossing powder.  Without heating it, I stamped several hearts, added powder, stamped more hearts, added powder, etc until I was satisfied with the stamping.  Then, I heated everything at once

Once everything was embossed, I added three colors of distress ink with water, from red to pink. Once the watercolor was dry, I used the LF circle dies to cut my focal point circles.  I added a few black hearts in and around the circles.  I die cut the word love several times and stacked them up to create a sturdier embellishment.

I hope you have a great day!

Paper Smooches August 2015 Guest Designer

Hello Sunshine!
I'm back again with another Paper Smooches project using some of  their newest release products.

I started by creating a circle mask to sponge on some color to ground my focal point.  I created a potted plant by die cutting the Ice Cream Cone Die base in brown cardstock and adding some details with brown copic markers.

I then stamped the hibiscus image from Summer Lovin' three times, colored them with copics, and fussy cut them out.

I arranged the flowers in the pot and adhered it to the sponged circle.  I added a sentiment from the same stamp set on a flag cut piece of cardstock.

A few enamel dots add the finishing detail.  Thanks so much for visiting.  I have one more post to share with you next Wednesday.   See you then!
