Vintage art journal page

Hello everyone,

Its time for new challenge over at "More than words

Word inspiration : Family
Creative inspiration : Numbers

I made a vintage art journal page about "Cousins"using a image from Finnabair ephemera pack .Its been a long time since i made a journal page.I dint have any idea while starting this,i just took a water color paper and started off with stencils, modelling paste and some sprays, used some left over die cuts and scrap pieces of pattern papers and finished off with some metal embellishments.Everything came together in just 45 mins,i love the tension free creative freedom it gives.thats the best thing about art journal right? For the creative challenge part i used some number stickers on my background

Hope you will join us.

Art journal page for colourarte

Hello!!
Its new year and its time to start with a new art journal.I love art journaling,it allows me to create without any restriction and go with the flow. For my first page i tried something new(for me),this page is created with stamping as focus with minimal coloring.

"The beauty of the art lies the negative space which
balances the whole composition"

I made this page for "Colourarte" and i have a quick tutorial on how to make this, believe me you can make this in very few steps.
I used very few supplies,no embellishments or layers are added but still it has lots of depth n textures. Sometimes less is more(yeah only sometimes though, haha) and i  love how it turned out
I have used radiant rain sprays from colourarte, the intensity of these colors are fabulous, just a little goes a long way.And when i say i tried something new you got to believe, because see i used a dragonfly this time instead of butterflies, hehe;).
Some more close ups

Supplies used:
Paper:Watercolor paper
Coloring medium:colourarte radiant rain sprays
Dies:Timholtz
Stamps:49Amarket,Prima,kaisercraft
Embellishments:Stickers from 7 dots studios

Art journal page

Hello everyone,
Today i am sharing a couple of projects over at "Mudra blog" using the new release stamp"Grunge effects".I made two contrast projects with the same stamp set just to show the versatility of the stamps.
My first project is a art journal page inspired by Lindy stamps gang color challenge for september.I sometimes go wild with my imagination, hehe and what a better way to showcase them than a art journal page??I totally went grungy in terms of colors n shapes on this one,for more details about how i did visit Mudra blog.

Lindys sprays used:

I made this tag with same stamp set, showing the lighter side of the stamp.I used my favourite yellow/green color combo at the moment.

I have used autumn colors for this, though the season is over i love the rich tones of yellow's and orange with earthy brown,so thought of using it now. With amazing colourarte products it was super easy n fun.I have also used amazing Deco art mediums-Modelling paste and crackle paste.Do check out the colourarte blog for the tutorial and let me know your feed back.

Art journal cover

Hello all,
today i wanted to share my art journal cover i made.My first attempt was a total disaster, that was two months back.So i really lost interest n put in the corner. After using black gesso recently, i thought i would give it another try.Oh how i love black gesso, perfect for hiding all those mistakes,*winks*.So i coated the whole thing with black gesso n added lots of clay n metal embellishments.I added loads of texture with Prima crackle paste, graphite texture paste and art ingredients. For a change this time after adding black gesso for the whole thing,i sprayed a coat of distress stain silver(brushed pewter) and  then added the colors.I have used Mica powders and iridescent  silks blue n green.

I am becoming more  n more interested in mixed media these days so thought of having an art journal to experiment more with different techniques and mediums.Making a canvas or layout every time is not possible n expensive. So now i can experiment more without fear of spoiling the project, there is really no rules n restrictions when it comes to art journal right?

This is how it looks in real now, though i added lots of color, finally while adding white gesso to highlight only silver shows of more.It almost looks like black  n white.

But while editing the pictures, i tried color enhancement and surprisingly  it shows the color i added, aww i really like this effect more,i guess i will go and add some more colors now.So which one do you like more, first one or second?do let me know:).
