Viimeinen hassutusaloitus on viimevuotiseen tapaan Halloween-aiheinen. Tästä eteenpäin hassutus jatkuu modifioidussa muodossa, eli loppukuun ajan jatkan vanhoja, ennen 2012 aloitettuja keskeneräisiä töitä. Niitä kyllä riittää (listaa löytyy sivupalkista tai WIPocalypsen sivulta)...

The last of this years Challenge starts is, like last year, Halloween themed. Now my Challenge will change into a modified one, meaning that during the rest of the month I'll be stitching old wips, projects started before 2012. There's plenty of them (a list can be found on the sidebar or on WIPocalypse page)...

Seuraavina aloituksina ovatkin eläimet, koira ja hevonen. Koiran pistely sujunee hyvin, mutta hevonen hieman jännittää. Malli on tehty valokuvasta, joten lopputulos voi olla ihan mikä tahansa :-) Hyvältä tuo kuitenkin tuossa mallina näyttää.

The next new starts were animals, a dog and a horse. There should be no problems stitching the dog, but I'm a bit worried about the horse. The chart is made from a photo, so the end result could be just about anything :-) But it does look good as a chart anyway.

Eilen en jaksanut pistellä kuin ihan muutaman piston iltamyöhällä, enkä sitten jaksanut enää blogata siitäkään vähästä. Tänään vuorossa siis kahden aloituksen esittely, kuvat alla.

Väsymyksen taustaksi: Aapolla on purentavika, ja sen vuoksi pari hammasta on pari vuotta sitten pätkäisty; ne vaativat vuosittaiset kuvauksen, jotta nähdään, että kaikki on kunnossa. Samalla kuvattiin joulun alla venähtänyt tassu, jota pitää vielä välillä vähän ontua. Siitä paljastui lievä jännevamma, joka kyllä paranee ajan kanssa. Koira veteli sikeitä koko prosessin ajan, emäntä ei, mutta molemmat olivat uupuneita kotiin päästyään...

I was so tired yesterday that I only managed to stitch a couple of stitches, and was way too tired to blog about them. So here's yesterday's and today's starts (photos below). 

This is why: Aapo has an overbite (or something like that, I'm not sure of the term), due to which couple of his teeth have been "flattened" a bit. They have to be x-rayed yearly to make sure that they are still doing well. Before Christmas he injured one of his paws, just slightly, but he still limps every now and then. So also the paw was x-rayed, showing a tiny injury in a tendon (correct word I hope), which will heal in time. The dog was asleep during the whole procedure, I wasn't, but we were both very tired once we returned home...

Tämänpäiväistä aloitusta ei millään olisi laskenut käsistään, melkein jäi blogipäivityskin tekemättä :-) Ihana Isa Vautierin malli...

I hardly managed to put today's start down to take a photo and make a blog entry :-) Such a lovely Isa Vautier design...

Yhdeksäs hassutusaloitus on toinen tuoksupussi, Victorian Lavender. Tunnin verran pistelyä on takana tässä kuvassa. Jos oikein tarkasti katsotte suurennosta, näette ehkä muutaman valkoisenkin piston :-)

The ninth start in the January Challenge was another lavender sachet, Victorian Lavender. This amounts to about an hour of stitching. If you look closely at the enlarged picture, you might see some of the white stitches :-)

Meillä muuten asuu pieni sohvaperuna ;-)

Did you know that there lives a small couch potato in our home ;-)

WIPocalypse, report #1

Tänään on täysikuu, joten on aika raportoida WIPocalypsen edistymisestä. Mikä on WIPocalypse? Lue lisää  täältä.

Alkuvuodesta olen urakoinut lisää WIPpejä, eli keskeneräisiä töitä, jotta olisi mitä saada valmiiksi loppuvuoden aikana :-) Ensimmäinen raporttini kattaa siis tähänastiset hassutusaloitukset, joista kolme on valmistunut. Eli voisiko sanoa, että WIPocalypse tuottaa tulosta ;-)

As I've been participating in the Crazy January Challenge, the number of my wips has only risen :-) So my first report covers the starts in the Challenge so far. But three of those have already been finished; so could it be said that WIPocalypse is giving results already ;-)

Myös tämänpäiväinen aloitus valmistui, ihan valmiiksi asti! Tuo kuvassa oleva nauha on tosin liian lyhyt, joten vaihdan sen tilalle myöhemmin nahkaisen. Ja tämän kaveriksi mietin jo sormusta, Kirsin ja Sarin esimerkkien mukaisesti...

Today's start was also today's finish, I even finalized it! The ribbon in the photo is too short, so I'm going to replace it with a leather ribbon. And I'm planning to stitch a ring to accompany this necklace, following the example of Kirsi and Sari.

Tämänpäiväinen aloitus valmistui jo! Ihana La-D-Dan ilmaismalli oli ehdolla jo viime vuoden hassutukseen. Linkkiä tähän malliin en löytänytkään enää. Tämä päätynee kehyksiin jossain vaiheessa. Ja nyt Gorjussin seuraan...

Today's start is also today's finish! A loovely La-D-Da's freebie was nearly a start in last year's Challenge, but got postponed. Sorry, I couldn't find a link to the design. I think I will buy a frame for this one. And now I'll continue Gorjuss...

RPH /CJC #4 & #5

Eilen en käynytkään koneella, joten jäi päivän aloitus esittelemättä. Aloitin Dinky-Dyes Designsin Motif Designs -sarjan kolmatta mallia (yhden sain pisteltyä viime vuoden hassutuksessa, toinen on ollut valmiina jo pidempään). Minulla on mielestäni vielä neljäskin, joten näiden viimeistely saa odottaa ensi vuoteen (sillä kai siitä neljännestä mallista täytyy tehdä myös hassutusaloitus; juu, kyllä tässä suunnitelmat pyörivät jo ensi vuodellekin ;-) Tästä tulee tahattomasti personoitu, sekoitin kaksi väriä keskenään, tai en siis tajunnut että fuksia olikin fuksia kun en huomannut, että siellä on "oikeakin" violetti... Niin tai tajusin, mutta niin myöhäisessä vaiheessa, että en enää viitsinyt lähteä purkamaan. Mutta vaihdan siis nuo kaksi väriä päikseen, tarkkaillen vain sen verran, että lanka varmasti riittää.

I didn't open the laptop yesterday so I didn't get to report the start of the day. Yesterday I started Village Garden from Dinky-Dyes Designs' Motif Designs series. I think I have also the fourth in the series, so I have to wait until next year to finalize this one as well as the two previously finished designs (I guess the fourth design will be a start in next year's Challenge, yep, I'm already planning next year ;-) This will be personalized, by mistake. I mixed two colours, violet and fuchsia, or rather I didn't realize that fuchsia was fuchsia, 'cos I didn't see the violet floss. Or I did realize, but at such a late point that I didn't want to start frogging.  So I will replace these colours with each other, hoping there's enough of each colour to stitch the required parts.

Tämänpäiväinen aloitus on suloinen Gorjuss. Kun en näytä saavan aikaiseksi aloittaa isoa HAED:in prinsessa ja jääkarhu -mallia, johon olisi kyllä kaikki tarpeellinen valmiina, niin aloitetaan sitten ainakin pikkuprinsessa jääkarhun kera :-) Vaihdoin paketissa olleen aidan tilalle pellavan, löysinkin aika samansävyisen. Tämä vielä etenee tänään, ihana pistely...

Today's start is a lovely Gorjuss :-) As I don't seem to be able to start HAED's design that has a princess and a polar bear (even though it's fully kitted), then at least I can start a design with a little princess and a polar bear :-) I changed the aida from the kit to linen, I found one with almost the same colour. This will get more stitches this evening, it's such a lovely design...

Kolmas aloitus hassutuksessa oli mediumkokoinen maatuska. Pieni maatuskahan valmistui viimevuotisessa hassutuksessa. Ensi vuonna lienee sitten sen suurimman vuoro :-)

The third start in the Challenge was a medium-sized baboushka. I finished a small baboushka in last year's challenge, so next year I'll take the largest one on the Challenge list, I think :-)

Tänään oli vuorossa lintupistely, joulukuussa valmistunut kirjanmerkki saa seuraa. Pistelykassissa on ihana tuoksu, tämän mukana on laventelia.

Ja eilinen pistely valmistui, kaverukset pääsivät yhteen :-)

Today was time for a bird stitching, this will be companion to the bookmark I stitched last month. There's a wonderful scent in my project bag as the kit includes lavender.

And the first start is now the first finish, the friends are together :-)

Pikapostaus päivän päätteeksi :-) Ristipistohassutus pääsi hyvään alkuun, kaveruksista vain perhonen jäi tekemättä. Se vaatii hieman purkamista, muutama pisto ei ole kohdallaan... Mutta ehkäpä voisin joku päivä pistellä sen valmiiksi.

A quick post before calling it a day :-) This years' Crazy January Challenge got a great start. The butterfly will need a bit frogging, but maybe I could finish it one day soon.
