I am piecing two lengths of the same fabric together for a queen quilt back, and would like the print to match. Not just kinda-sorta, but perfectly. Partly because I'm a little OCD, partly because the person I'm giving it to shares some of my DNA and is just as OCD as I am, and partly because I just think it would be cool to not be able to see it.
Any recommendations on how to match it successfully? All input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Did you miss the part about matching plaids in home ec at Covington?
You need to look at the print and find the repeat, designate some part the "start" - easiest to choose the part of the design at the top of your fabric - measure down the length you need for the back (e.g. 60 inches) and cut. Then on your second piece, you find the beginning of the repeat again (you may wind up wasting a few inches of fabric) and line that up with the top of your first piece. To get the match exactly right, you lay the second piece face down on the first, poke pins through in areas to be sure the design is lining up and pin in place before you sew them together.
It is easier to make sure the horizontal lines match without matching the entire design and would work just as well with such a small scale print. Just use pins the way you would when sewing rows of a quilt together, to be sure the motifs are lined up.
This probably sounds like gibberish. You might be able to find a video on YouTube that shows you how to do it.
On one piece, press the edge under 1/4 inch. Pin and stitch it on the right side, either in matching thread, or contrast for a designer look.
Or pick a defining spot in the pattern, put a pin through the same spot on both pieces, every 8 inches or so.
I take a photo from about 6 ft. away to see if there is something unnoticeable to the naked eye, like a diagonal pattern. I found that recently in a fabric I used for a backing. Folding one edge under and pressing and matching it up to the other piece is good advice.
Oh fransson has an explanation on how to match fabric in on of her quilt tutorials. It might be helpful.
