Photo Inkspiration at Inkspirational!

Hello friends!

We have a fun new photo inspiration challenge for you at Inkspirational! Owls are very special birds aren't they and there's so many fun owl stamps around that would be perfect for our photo inspiration... But remember you could also be inspired by the colors and/or the shapes in the photo, you don't have to use an owl -or any bird -in your card. I love the creative freedom photo inspirations give! I hope you'll check out the fun cards by our DT and the talented guest designer Maura from the challenge blog.

My tag is not at all CAS this time, there's a lot going on and to be honest I'm not sure if I like it... But I'll give it to some of my nieces with their Christmas present and maybe they will like the cuteness of it. I do love Walter the Owl from Willow Designs -unfortunately not available anymore. I colored him with Copics and added golden Stickles to the "fluffy" parts of his hat + gave his eyes a glossy treatment. :) "Hyvää Joulua" is Merry Christmas in Finnish and the blue snowflakes are stamped with Hero Arts Neon Blue ink I got some days ago -LOVE those inks, want more!! How many ink pads can one own?!? You who are wiser than me, let me know. :)

Owl Christmas

Hi!
Here's my card for this week's Less is More Challenge: Christmas card with birds. I colored the cute cute cute owl from Willow Designs in with Copics -unfortunately this stamp company does not exist anymore. It's also unfortunate that the photo does no justice to the colors of the card: the weather is very gloomy in here and although I took the photo outside in a place with most light (what light?!?) this is the outcome. :( You'll just have to take my word for it that Walter the owl has beautiful aqua, turquoise and mint green tones in his hat! edit: you are looking at the second photo of the card now, the colors are a tiny bit better! :)

Willow:n Suloiset Siilit/ The Cute Hedgehogs of Willow Designs

cute Willow Designs hedgehogs are on a walk on stripes in my card... Unfortunately, as you may have heard already, Willow Designs is closing down -there's a closing sale in the store, click here for grabbing the bargains. The postage is free worldwide. It's sad to see Willow Designs closing, but I'm sure we will still see Sharon Armstrong in the world of crafts and can read her articles in craft magazines. I wish you the best of luck, Sharon!

Due to these changes, Willow Sketchie is renewed as well. We are starting as a monthly challenge blog called Digi Sketch Challenge next Monday 4th of February. Onnittelukukkaset/ Bringing You Flowers

Niin se torstai taas tulla tupsahti ja uusi Willow Sketchie haaste uunista ulos! Tämänviikkoinen teema on "Hyvää Syntymäpäivää" ja luonnos on tämän postauksen lopussa. Kuten aina, korttisi voi noudattaa joko teemaa tai luonnosta tai halutessasi molempia -oma onnittelukorttini on tehty luonnoksen mukaan joten molemmat aiheet, check! :) Kuva on Willow Designin uusia digikuvia, tutustupas ihanaan valikoimaan kaupassa, paljon kaikkea söpöä ja hauskaa, niin digejä kuin perinteisiä leimasimiakin. Lähetyskuluja ei ole, uskomatonta, mutta totta se on! Valmiin luonnoksen mukaan on kyllä hauska tehdä kortteja -saa oikein ajan kanssa pyöritellä ihania kuviopapereita ja pohdiskella, mitkä parhaiten sopisivat leimakuvaan... Kiemurakoriste ja aita ovat lahja askartelukaverilta, ihanat, kukat napsuttelin Fiskarsin leikkurilla. Thursday again, new Willow Sketchie Challenge fresh from the oven! :) Our theme this week is "Happy Birthday" and the sketch is below this text. As always, you can choose theme or sketch or both like I did! My image is one of the new digis that came out a couple of weeks ago -visit the Willow Designs Shop to see all the cute and fun stuff that there is, both digis and rubber stamps. By the way, the postage is free worldwide -unbelievable, but true! It' so much fun to make cards with a ready sketch -you can use all your time going through your designer papers and find your favorite ones to fit the sketch. What else to tell you about my card... Torstai on toivoa täynnä... Ja on uuden Willow Sketchie haasteen aika. Haasteessa voit valita joko luonnoksen tai teeman -tällä viikolla teema on cute eli söpöt jutut- tai tehdä kortin noudattaen molempia. Luonnoksen näet käännöksen jälkeen. Here it is, my first ever DT-card for Willow Sketchie Challenge! I'm really excited about this since I really like the cute and often humoristic Willow images. In Willow Sketchie you can always choose to use the sketch, follow the theme or do both. Suklaata Ystävälle/ Chocolate For A Friend

Maanantai, yksi viikko jouluaattoon!
Yllä on DT-työni Koukussa Kortteihin haasteeseen, jossa viikon aiheena on makeinen ja Japp-patukka se siellä laatikon sisuksissa näkyykin olevan! Kortti on tehty tuikkukortin ohjeella, tutoriaaleja löytyy ympäri nettiä useita vähän erilaisia. Kortissa käyttämäni kukat ja nauha ovat osa Carolalta voittamaani palkintoa -jos hänen bloginsa ei ole vielä tuttu, käyhän kurkkaamassa -ihania töitä! Laitoin lumihiutaleet kukkien keskelle -saavat olla jääkukkia sillä kylmähän se on vielä ystävänpäivänä 14.2. Voi tosin olla että tuo suklaapatukka ei enää silloin ole tuo täsmälleen sama vaan joku, kuka lie, on käynyt sen syömässä parempiin suihin ja joutuu sitten hankkimaan tilalle toisen... :) Kivaa päivää sinulle, kiitos kun vierailit blogissani!

Monday, one week to Christmas Eve!
Above is my DT-card for Hooked on Cards Challenge. This week's theme is candy and as you probably see, there's a chocolate bar in the box. The card follows a tutorial of a votive candle card -there's many different ones in the web if you google. The flowers and ribbon that I've used here are part of a prize that I won from Carola -if you haven't seen her blog, go and check it out, she is an amazing crafter! I placed bendable metal snowflakes to the middle of the flowers -I plan to give this as Valentine's day card and it's still snow in February, seemed appropriate! I do think though that this particular Japp bar won't be in place in February... Someone (who ever?!?) might have to eat it and then replace it with some other chocolate bar... Tässä kortissa hyödynsin kaunista kuviopaperia, koristeena vain vähän nauhaa, lumitiutaletarra ja pari puolihelmeä. Kortti osallistuu Merry Monday-haasteeseen, yksi suosikkihaasteitani!

In the first card I used the beautiful paper as the focal point and added just some ribbon, snowflake-stickers and pearls. I'll take part in the Merry Monday Challenge, one of my favourite challenges!

Tässä toisessa kortissa paperit ovat samasta paperikosta ja nyt pääsivät haaraniititkin käyttöön. Aina yhtä hurmaavan Walterin hattu on tehty "paper piecing"-tekniikalla ja tupsuissa on runsaasti Stickles-kimalleliimaa. Walter on väritetty Copiceilla. Tällä kortilla useisiin haasteisiin, jotka löydät käännöksen lopusta. Kiitos kun vieraiit, toivottavasti tykkäsit näistä joulukorteista ja ihanaa sunnuntaita!

In the second card the papers are from the same paper pad and now I used the brads also. Always equally charming Walter is colored with Copics, I have paper pieced his hat and used a lot of Stickels in the fluffy parts of the hat. :) I will take part in several challenges, listed below. Syksyisellä kortilla taas mennään, päivän säätilaan tämä sopii mitä parhaiten... Itsellekin alkaa pyöräillessä jo korvanlämmittimet tulla tarpeeseen! Winnie on toinen Willow Sketchie- haasteesta voittamistani söpöläisistä, mukava väritellä ja monen ikäiselle sopiva. Aikuiselle humortistinen, teinille Angry Birds- henkinen ja pienelle lapselle selkeä ja söötti. :) Osallistun kasaan haasteita, jotka käännöksen lopussa. Näin pimeänä päivänä valokuvaus oli haasteellista, mutta minkäs teet! Kiva kun kävit, mukavaa päivää!

Another fall-themed card, it really matches the weather conditions today... Those ear warmers would come in handy here also, at least when bicycling, grrggg!! Winnie is another challenge win stamp from Willow Sketchie Challenge, she is adorable and nice to colour. I find her very suitable for everybody: she is humoristic for adults, a bit like "Angry Birds" for teenagers and for small children; cute, uncluttered and clear. Photographing was tricky today, it's so dark... But what can you do! :) I'll take part in following challenges:

Suloinen Walter/ A Cute Walter

Lauantainen huomen!
Näytille eilen tekemäni kortti söööööötistä Walterista, joka on Willow Sketch Challengen haastevoitto. Niin suloinen! Värittelin hänet Distress Inkien leimasintyynyillä ja myös paperit ja lehdet saivat osansa Tea Dye-musteesta, jolla tykkään suttailla paperien reunoja. Sillä sävyllä tulee minusta sellainen hillitty distress-vaikutelma, joka luo kolmiuloitteisuutta. Korttini luonnos on Crafty Ribbons- haasteesta, tällä kortilla myös muihin haasteisiin, jotka löydät käännöksen lopusta... Iloista päivää ja kiitos käynnistäsi!

Good morning, it's Saturday!
This is my card featuring the cuuuuute Walter, I won the stamp at Willow Sketch Challenge. He is adorable! I coloured him with Distress Ink pads and also stained the paper edges with Tea Dye-Ink. I like to use that particular color for distressing the edges, it gives a subtle 3d-effect and adds depth to the papers.
