Use Markers/Pencils at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
I've had the privilege to choose the challenge theme for the current Inkspirational Challenge and I chose "Use Markers/Pencils". There's many cool techniques you can use markers or pencils for but my favorite is the old-fashioned coloring in... I love my Copics and I wish I had more time to play with them. Always, after a break, it seems to take more tries to get the images to look the way you want... Even the cutest ones like Henry the Mouse from WOJ! Henry is one of my favorite cute images and WOJ has many Henry themed stamps suitable for adults which I find especially fun. I used this particular Henry for creating a tag for wine bottle. The background is recycled paper from a wine gift bag -it has a photo of wine corks in it. The corks inspired me to go with a monochrome brown color palette with a hint of yellow. I framed Henry with stamps from Papertrey Ink. Not much else was needed for the tag: a doily, some ribbon and pearls were all I added. This will be a fun gift I think!

Color Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!

Time for a new Inkspirational Challenge! We have a color challenge for you:

 Pink and Green

 You may use all the shades of pink and green + neutrals and realistic colors for hair/fur.

Since I've had the luxury of spending a bit more time for crafting lately I chose to color in a detailed image for a Mother's Day card: "Äidille" is Finnish for "For Mother". The beautiful girl stamp comes from Whiff of Joy and I colored it with Copics. I wanted to keep the layout really simple and added only a doily as a backdrop for the image. I've got the patterned paper as a gift from a good stamping friend, either from Sandie or Milla -both girls have given me pretty papers and they are now in the same pile. :)

Time for Dinner!

It's the 5th Monday of the month so in the House of Cards Challenge we have a photo inspiration for you. This week you don't have to follow a specified card making style, your card can represent what ever style you wish, any card making style will do! Normally we give you a style to follow every week: Fun & Cute, Clean & Simple, Classic & Elegant or Vintage& Shabby. But as this is the 5th week of the month, you can choose your favorite style, yay!

Me, being in the Fun & Cute DT, have made my card to represent that style. At first I had hard time figuring out how to turn this photo of a classy dining room into something funny, but then it hit me... Dining room needs dinner and my Henry the Mouse from WOJ has just done some grocery shopping! This is my favorite Henry stamp -I just love that look on his face. I colored the image with Copics and searched for cute papers with orange hues. The sketch is an old sketch from Deconsturcted Sketches, I really love it. There will be new DT inspiration every day this week at House of Cards, I hope you'll visit the blog and join us in the challenge! Happy crafting!

Photo Inspiration Challenge at Addicted To Stamps And More

Heippa kaverit!
Uusi haaste on taas pyörähtänyt käyntiin Addicted To Stamps And More- haasteblogissa ja tällä kertaa inspiroidutaan tuosta ihanasta, suorastaan tropiikkisesta rantsukuvasta! Kun sitä vertaa minun korttiini, voi ajatella, että mites nuo liittyvät yhteen... Mutta antakaas kun selitän. :)

Nähtyäni inspiskuvan lautatuoleineen muistin hiljattain ladanneeni ilmaisia "lankkudigipapereita" Far Far Hill- sivustolta ja päätin ottaa ne käyttöön. Halusin käyttää myös ruskeaa ja veden sävyjä.

Inpiraatiokuvasta pomppaa silmään myös tuo herkullisen näköinen drinksu... Varmasti aivan ihana juoma, mutta itse olen enempi punaviinin lipittäjä -nappasin WOJ:n viime syksyn kokoelmasta Henryn viiniä siemailemaan ja kortti alkoikin olla sitten siinä! Olipas aika haasteellinen väritettävä tämä -pikkuriikkisiä yksityiskohtia, huh. :)  Lisäsin kakkupaperin tuomaan lisää valkoista korttiini ja kekkailin The Twineryn leipurinnyöristä ja parista haaraniitistä pienen rustiikkisen lisäkoristuksen. Siinä se!

ATSM DT on tehnyt jälleen kerran upeita kortteja joten klikkailepas itsesi haasteblogin puolelle. Toivottavasti inspiroidut tuosta ihanasta kuvasta ja liityt joukkoomme. Askartelun iloa!

We have such a fun week ahead of us at  Addicted To Stamps And More... Some time ago our lovely challenge blog owner Kylie revamped the challenges and we now have some new regular themes, photo inspiration challenge being one of them. I really love this photo she has chosen, I wish it was summer already... When you look at my card you might think it has nothing to do with this beachy picture but let me explain! :)

The wooden chair in the inspiration picture made me think about some free wooden background papers from Far Far Hill that I recently downloaded. The one I chose to use has some oceanic colors too so it seemed to fit even better! 

Then... The yummy looking drink in the inspiration picture really catches the eye, doesn't it? :) It looks amazing but I'm more of a wine girl myself so I chose Henry The Mouse from WOJ, he also seems to be enjoying his glass of red. :) The image is colored with Copics and there's also a little bit of brown chalk on the ground. Coloring was quite tricky because the details in this are tiny! I wanted to have more white in my card so I added a doily, after that it still seemed to need something so I chose two brads and some baker's twine from The Twinery for my (hopefully!) rustic looking embellishments.

Lempileimasin / My Favorite Stamp

Moikka! Tässä DT- korttini uusimpaan Koukussa Kortteihin haasteeseen, jonka aihe on kiva: lempileimasin. Valinta oli toki hirmuisen vaikea, mutta valitsin lopuksi tämän hiirulin: hän on ensinnäkin ylimuikea, ja lisäksi nämä WOJ:n hiiret innostivat minut tarttumaan tusseihin ja Copic-tusseja hommattuani on värittäminen alkanut olla hurjan kivaa. Leimailin muutamia tähtiä Kanbanin setistä ja teskti on Finnstamperilta -kortti on aika simppeli eikä suurempia esittelyjä kaipaa. Ai niin, luonnos on tavallaan vanha Sketch Saturday- luonnos, nauhan paikka vain on eri. Hip hip!

Hiya! This is my DT-card for the newest Hooked On Cards challenge. The topic is a fun one: your favorite stamp. It was really difficult to choose but this mouse won in the end: After seeing some WOJ mice colored with Copics last fall I bought some Copics myself and really started to enjoy coloring. I also love his face, he looks so pleased with himself! My sketch is a modification of a previous sketch from Sketch Saturday, I just changed the place of the ribbon. I added some starts stamped with a Kanban stamp and the text is from Finnstamper. It's Finnish but maybe understandable for English speakers also? Hip hip hurraa! :)

Black And White at Addicted To Stamps And More

Moikka! Värihaasteen aika Addicted To Stamps And More haasteessa. Mustavalkoinen on ihana ja tyylikäs väriyhdistelmä, vaikka helposti synkkä -alunperin tarkoitukseni oli laittaa kullanhohtoinen nauha, mutta onnistuin pilaamaan sen rusettia solmiessa. :) Kortin kaunistus on stanssattu kiekura, jonka olen saanut joskus kortteiluringissä, on jäänyt silloisista askarteluista yli. Mitäs mieltä muuten olette, kun olen kuvannut korttini värillistä taustaa vasten? Onko häiritsevä vai ihan kiva? Sain idean täältä. Minusta toimii aika hyvin! Hi guys! It's time for a color challenge at Addicted To Stamps And More and as you can see from my card, it's black and white! I was first planning to add a golden ribbon to cheer it up a bit but I ended up destroying it in the process, so completely black and white it was then. :) I took the photo against a colored paper -what do you think, does it give a nice touch or should the background always be white? I got my idea from here. I quite like the look! Well, back to the challenge... My card is so simple this time that there's not much to say about it -the swirl is a gift from a stamping friend and the text stamp is WOJ's. Eilisen kortin kanssa olin yksinkertaisen eleganteissa tunnelmissa, tänään mennään hiirimäisessä vintage-hengessä. :) Minulla on ollut ihanan paljon aikaa tehdä kortteja viime aikoina, pitää nyt takoa, kun on mahdollisuus ja intoakin piisaa! Tämän tyylisen värimaailman kimppuun olen halunnut jo pitkään, yhtäkkiä löysin nämä paperit silppulaatikosta ja sain mielestäni söötin kortin aikaiseksi. Mitäköhän hiiritypy tuossa juhlistelee -ehkä kyseessä on vain tyttöjen ilta, kaveri on ottanut tämän  "valokuvan" eikä ole siksi näkymässä mukana. :) Leimat ovat WOJ:n. Väritykset Copiceilla ja pientä varjostusta vielä Inktense-kynien ja öljyn kanssa. Paperina on kiiltäväpintainen Fabriano "tekninen" piirustuspaperi -se ei ole tussien kanssa ihan ideaalia (väri tuppaa leviämään jos laittaa monta kerrosta, pientä harjoitusta vaatii), mutta näiden kynien yhteiskäyttöön se sopii mainiosti, öljytty stumppi liukuu tällä kestävällä paperilla nätisti. Kiva kun karkuroit tänne, hyvää viikonloppua!

Yesterday my card was simple and I was going for an elegant look -today I'm on mousy vintage mood as you can see. :) I've been wanting to make a card with colors like this for months -after suddenly finding these papers from my scraps box I'm quite pleased with the result! Stamps are from WOJ and I've colored my mouse with Copics + shaded a bit with Inktense pencils and oil. The paper I've used is Fabriano technical drawing paper -it's not ideal for markers (it has a tendency to bleed if you add too much color, it needs a bit of practice) but for the combination of Copics and Inktenses it's ideal. The paper stump, dipped in oil, slides beautifully on the smooth paper. I wonder what the mouse girl is celebrating... Maybe she is having a night out with her friend who took this shoot of her posing so cutely. :) Thanks for your visit, have a nice weekend!

Ihan aluksi pahoittelut blogini tapahtumattomuudesta viime viikolla, teidän muidenkaan töitä en ole juuri ehtinyt katselemaan, tylsä homma! Linjoilla ollaan kuitenkin yhä, on vain pitänyt töissä tosi kiirettä ja viikonloppu meni kulttuurimatkailun merkeissä, kävin kuuntelemassa upeita konsertteja Tampereella ja Helsingissä. Nyt jaksaa taas arkea!

Amour-korttini on DT-työni tämän viikkoiseen Koukussa-kortteihin haasteeseen. Tällä viikolla bingoilemme, minun rivini on "vintage, ympyrä, 3 kuviopaperia". Tämä on ehkä aika kirkkaan värinen vintageksi, mutta jotain kivan vanhahtavaakin fiilistä korttiin onneksi sain. Kolmas kuviopaperi löytyy noista pikkuisista Fiskars-leikkurilla leikatuista kukista. Yritin olla boheemi ja jätin pitsin vapautuneesti reunojen ulkopuolelle... Yleensä kun tuppaan laittamaan kaiken suoraan ja topakasti järjestykseen, ilman roikkuvia osuuksia. :) Nää hiiret on vaan niin minun suosikkejani, tulen aina näistä hyvälle tuulelle!! Pystyin vastustamaan WOJ:n talvista Secret Stamp Kitiä, mutta olen jo päättänyt, että kevään paketin kyllä taas tilaan... Hauskaa päivää sinulle ja kiitos kun karkuroit tänne luokseni. Toivotaan, että blogini päivitystahti muuttuu pian itselle vähän mieluisammaksi ja että ehtisin vierailla paremmin luonanne. Heippa hei!

Good morning!
At first I want to apologize for my blog's boring state last week: I was too busy to post anything after Wednesday and then I was travelling for the weekend. I went to listen to  some amazing concerts in Tampere and Helsinki -something like that really spices up your everyday life! I hope that this week I have more time for crafting and for visiting all of you. 

The Amour-card is my DT-piece for Hooken On Cards Challenge where we play bingo this week. I chose "vintage, circle and 3 designer papers". The colors might be a bit on the bright side for vintage, but I think there's still a bit old-fashioned feel to the card. My 3rd patterned paper is used in the small flowers I punched out with my Fiskars punch. I also tried to be a bit bohemian with leaving my lace hanging "wild" outside the card... I usually always tend to make everything really square and neat so this was a triumph for me! :) The too cute to be true WOJ mice always make on such a good mood. I resisted the WOJ Winter Secret Stamp Kit  but I know already that I have to go for the Spring Kit... :) Thank you for visiting me! Have a great day!

Ranskalainen hiirulainen/ French Vintage Mousy

hiirulini taitaa unelmoida romanttisista päivällistreffeistä, niin on muikea ilme! Tein tämän kortin Make My Monday- haasteeseen, jossa aiheena on ranskalainen vintage. En lähtenyt tekemään eleganttia, parfyymintuoksuista työtä vaan päädyin rustiikkiseen hiirimeininkiin. Tämä saattaa olla jopa suosikkini WOJ:n syksyn Secret Stamp Kitistä, on niin suloinen kuva! Luonnos on Seems A Little Sketchy- haasteesta. Laventelinsävyistä kartonki ja vanhahtava kuviopaperi veivät minut mielessäni ranskalaisille maalaismarkkinoille... Oi, Provence! Pääsisipä sinne! :) Pari haastetta edellä mainittujen lisäksi, listattuna käännöksen jälkeen. Kohta on viikonloppu, ihanaa.. Sitä ennen minua odottaa todella haastava ilta töissä -taidan mennä vähän askartelupöydän ääreen rentoutumaan, jospa sitten pärjäilisin!

I wonder what that little mousy is dreaming, he looks pretty pleased in himself! Maybe he has a romantic dinner in mind? I made this card for  Make My Monday Challenge, the theme is French Vintage. I didn't go for sophisticated, parfym-scented look, I opted for rustic, mousy feeling! This stamp might be my favorite from WOJ's Fall Secret Stamp Kit, he is so adorable. The sketch of the card comes from Seems A Little Sketchy Challenge. The lavender cardstock and old-fashioned patterned paper make me think of French countryside, maybe an old marketplace there... Oh, Provence! I want to travel there! :) Instead, I'm having a very challenging evening at work ahead, I hope everything will go fine... I have a couple of hours to relax before so I'm off to my craft room. Have a nice day!

Vihdoin... Hiirirouva hienona / Finally, the lady mouse!

Valitettavasti piti kuvata keinovalossa / Unfortunately I had to take the pic in unnatural light :(

Otsikko alkaa sanalla vihdoin, sillä olen värittänyt tätä kuvaa ehkä jo kymmenesti ja tuotos on aina lentänyt lopuksi roskiin... Vieläkään en ihan tyytyväinen ole, mutta korttiin asti hän jo pääsi! Eikös olekin hiirirouva hurmaava nautiskellessaan punaviiniä viehättävällä terassilla? Juuri kun pari korttia sitten kehuskelin, että pastelliväreihin en enää koske, täältä sitä vaaleanpunaista taas löytyy. :) Pyrkimyksenäni on saada silppulaatikkoa pienemmäksi, ja sieltä kaivelin nämä paperit, sävyt määräytyivät keskellä olevan pallopaperin mukaan.

Sain hiirulaisen elokuussa WOJ:n syksyisen Secret Stamp Kitin mukana ja tämä on ensimmäinen hiirikorttini, pari kuukautta meni väritystä opetellessa... Halusin väkisin oppia värittämään hiiren tusseilla ja pikkuhiljaa alkaa tusseilu tuntua jo tutummalta, siihen kyllä ihastuu, miten eri tummuusasteet blendautuvat kun onnistuu.  Pian toivottavasti muutkin viinimaailmassa hyppelevät hiirulaiset pääsevät tänne blogiin! Mitenköhän käy, pystynkö olemaan tilaamatta talven Secret Stamp Kitin... Se olisi nyt ennakkomyynnissä... Hmmm... Osallistun tällä pariin haasteeseen, löytyvät käännöksen lopusta. Hyvää viikonloppua, kommentoi ehtiessäsi, piristät päivääni!

Finally... Is the word of the day because I've been coloring this cute madam mouse for 10 times or something and have always ended up throwing her to the bin... I'm still not completely happy but at least she made her way to this card now! Isn't she lovely, enjoying her wine on a beautiful terrace? I was solemnly swearing some cards ago that I'll not use pastel colors anymore -and here the baby pink is again. :) My goal is to empty my scrap box and all these papers are 0,5-1,5 years old. 

The stamp is from WOJ's Secret Stamp Fall kit which I received already in August but this is my first card with those stamps. I was determined to learn to color the mice with Copics and it's taken time to get used to them -I have still a lot to learn but I'm starting to fall in love with them. The blending is like magic! I hope all the mice from the Fall Kit will find their way to my blog soon. The Secret Winter Kit is out now, I'm trying to resist it... I wonder how long I can say no to the temptation... The mice are toooo cute! I will take part in the following challenges:

Ihanainen Willow/ Kneeling Willow

Leppoisaa lauantaita!
Parin päivän kyläilyreissujen jälkeen taas kortteilun äärellä. Löysin netistä muutamankin kivan haasteen, joihin osallistua -myös luonnos löytyy haasteista. Kauniin Willow-leimasimen olen ostanut Koukussa Kortteihin-yhteisön kirppikseltä, ja vaikka kuva olikin haastava värittää, tykkään siitä kovasti. Olemme yhä maalla enkä saanut "suttailtua" papereiden reunoja, ei ollut levitysvälineitä matkassa. Harmi, vaan ei vakavaa! Ihanaa viikonloppua sinulle

Hi guys!
After a couple of days of visiting friends, now back on making cards! Was super nice to craft today since I found so fun challenges to participate and take inspiration from. The beautiful Willow felt a bit difficult to colour, but I love the image anyway, she is so pretty! We are still on the countryside and I couldn't distress the edges of the papers -would have wanted, but no sponges here. :) I don't love those white edges of paper, the look would have been more complete with some distressing. Oh well, doesn't matter!
