CASEing Yvonne!

Hi friends! We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational Challenges and it's a CASE -your task is to go to the blog of wonderful Yvonne, choose a card and CASE it. If you are new to CASEing, we have instructions in the challenge blog.  Yvonne has several cards with sewing theme in her blog and I was inspired by the card below this text. I used a mannequin doll die cut I've got as a gift from Sandie (thanks hun!) and chose vintage style embellies and papers to go with it. Yvonne's style is vintagy and layered so that was the look I was after. My own twist is that I didn't distress the paper edges by tearing or using distress tool-for some reason I never do this although I do make vintage cards! Maybe I love the papers too much to tear them... Who knows what's the reason! :) Yvonne's post with the details of her card is here, I hope you'll visit her and leave her some love. Anything Goes at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Hi friends! Time for everyone's favorite, Anything Goes, at Addicted to Stamps and More! We are glad to have Nicecrane Designs sponsoring us again and I've used an adorable image from Nicecrane collage sheet called Born to Be Wild. These images are so cute... And loved by adults and kids, I've tested! :) My card is pretty much a straightforward vintage card -the colors are not very muted though and maybe the twine adds a bit funkier touch than a traditional ribbon would have added. I try to avoid my vintage cards looking too much "grandma style"... But my faves -doilies and lace- are present of course. :)

Dreamy Blues

Time for Addicted to Stamps and More! We are continuing our August challenges with a twist, there's 3 ways to play along. This is how you can enter:
1) enter a card inspired by a photo

2) enter by using a product from Nicecrane Designs
3) combine both ways: use a Nicecrane product and use the photo as your inspiration!

I chose alternative nr 2 and used this cute vintage girl from the Charming Children Illustrations by Nicecrane Designs. I did not want to use designer paper for a change and did my own background by embossing an Impression Obsession background stamp with clear powder and spraying the background with blue Stardust mist. It turned out beautiful! I tried to keep my design simple and let the background be seen so all the other elements are in the center of the card. The little flowers are punched with a Fiskars punch -I like them, they look a bit like starfish to me!

Vintage at Digi Sketch

Good morning friends!
I'm hosting the challenge this fortnight at Digi Sketch Challenge and I have chosen the theme "vintage". I've also made a simple sketch (which I didn't follow myself, oops!), it's below this text. As always, there's 3 ways to enter the challenge: use our theme, use our sketch or use them both!

We are glad to have LEJ Designs sponsoring us again and our DT had great fun working with their vintage images. Please use the link above for checking out all the gorgeous DT cards! My card is a pretty traditional vintage card with many layers but I didn't embellish too much, I used only those miniature pearls in the center of the card. The paper with writing adds a bit more modern touch too since the font is not that old-fashioned. There's a lot of Stickles on the bride's outfit and some Copic shading under it (E40 if I remember right)... The groom is not glittery, he is just normally colored with Copics. :)

Sadly, this will be my last card as a Digi Sketch DT member. I'll just play along now on, when ever I have the chance! I want to thank team leader Kelly and all the DT girls for the fun crafting company. I had a super good time in the team!!

CAS/Anything Goes with Nicecrane Designs at Addictd to Stamps and More!

Hi guys!
Another fun week at Addicted to Stamps and More! As last week we have a twist this week too, there's 3 ways to enter:

1) Make a CAS (Clean and Simple) card/project
2) Make a card/project using products from Nicecrane
3) Make a card/project that is CAS and uses products from Nicecrane.

Wonderful design team of ATSM has made inspirational pieces from all the alternatives, do check them out!

I chose the second alternative, I'm sure you'll agree that these cards have never seen CAS! I made these fun and colorful vintage cards with my mum when she was visiting a couple of weeks ago. We used Charming Children Illustration from Nicecrane. Mum helped me punching squares out of scrap papers and we formed them into two cards -mum's is the first and mine is the second. I must say I like mum's colors better, well done mum! :) It's a fun and cheerful card and I helped only with choosing embellishments. I was very happy that mum liked our little crafting session and loved the cards so much that she sent them to friends right away.

As my regular visitors and followers maybe remember, I recently started in a design team of House of Cards. HOC is a very fun and a bit different challenge, this is what the blog owners tell us about the concept:

Here is how our challenge blog works--we will have a monthly color palette or sketch and then each week we'd like to see a different card making style using those parameters.  If there is a 5th Monday in the month, we will have a photo inspiration and you can create using any card making style you'd like!  We'll also have a super fun photo inspiration challenge/blog hop that will happen at the beginning of December 2013.  The challenge will run from December 1st through December 15th and will also be a blog hop with a chance to win a prize package.  If at that point you feel so inclined, we'd love to have you enter our DT call that will be running at the same time!

The different card making styles are Fun & Cute (my DT group!), Clean & Simple, Classic and Elegant + this weeks style, Vintage & Shabby. The inspiration photo is seen below my card -I used two reds, the greyish white + blue as my accent color. The sweet vintage image is from Nicecrane -if I remember right, the collage sheet set is called "Born To Be Wild". Totally cute!

My sketch inspiration comes from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge -I altered it a bit so I totally understand if I'm removed from the linky -I just had to leave the whole doily to the card, I couldn't cut part of it off! :) That's it from me now, I hope you enjoyed my card and thanks for popping by!

Make Your Mark at Addicted To Stamps And More!

I just loved working with these images and I hope you'll like my card as much as I do! The quality in these images is awesome and they are really easy to print out and use. This week we have a photo inspiration challenge for you at Addicted To Stamps And More. Photo inspiration challenges are so fun, one can interpret the picture as one wants, the possibilities are endless! I was inspired by the colors and nature in our photo and decided to use this lovely girl in her swing from our sponsor Whoopsi Daisy. I think she has been playing a bit in the mud before starting to swing -that's what you get when you try to be overly artistic with your shading! :) There's not much more to say about my simple card... Here's my card for couple of challenges that I like: Color Throwdown is a quite recent find, at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge I've played along many times and Sweet Sketch Wednesday is a sketch challenge blog that I find really helpful. Sometimes when in need for inspiration it's fun to combine great challenges and see what you end up with! :) My colors are a bit more soft and pastel-like than in the Color Throwdown inspiration photo, I hope that's fine. The biggest struggle was to include white to the color combo, it looked a bit too stark at first with the kraft-tones but now my eye has gotten used to it. :) "Onnea" is Finnish language and means "Congratulations", I think this could be a nice, feminine birthday card. Toinen Tekniikkakympin kortti esittelyvuoroon. Jos olet Koukussakorttilainen, kannattaa kyllä osallistua tähän hauskaan haasteeseen, huippukivaa puuhailua! Taustapaperini on tehty tämän videon ohjeilla sillä erotuksella, että kohokuviointivälineeni on Fiskarsin kohokuviolevy ja kohokuviontikahva -hyvin toimi. Kultaisen embossausaineen lisäksi sotkin joukkoon myös vähän DI Walnut Stain embossausjauhetta, kivasti sopi kullan seuraan. :) Minusta lopputuloksesta tuli aika hyvä, näyttää vähän käärmeennahalta! Värimaailma raikastui mukavasti tuolla vaaleansinisellä kehyksellä ja sainpas mukaan muutaman pienen kukankin. Mukavaa viikonlopun jatkoa sinulle!

Yesterday I posted my first card for the "TechniqueTen" challenge that's running on Finnish card making site Koukussa Kortteihin for the month of April. I wasn't too happy about yesterday's card but this one I like! The technique is called "Faux Patina" and you can find the tutorial video here. My dry embossing is done by hand on a Fiskars embossing tool and embossing plate -I think it worked out fine. In addition to the gold embossing powder suggested on the video, I also added some DI Walnut Stain embossing powder with the gold, I quite like the result and it looks a bit like snakeskin to me! :) Thanks for popping by and I hope you are all having the most lovely weekend!

Yllä eka tuotokseni Koukussa Kortteihin tekniikkakymppiin. Tausta on leimattu Impression Obsessionin taustaleimasimella ja leikkasin siitä simppelit ympyrät on Fiskarsin Shape Cutterilla. Kortissa käytetty tutoriaali löytyypi täältä. Itse "imin" vielä embossausaineet pois silitysrautaa käyttäen ja korttiin tuli mielestäni ihan söötti vintage-look. Vuoden eka joulukortti, jei! Ihan satasella en ole tähän tyytyväinen, mutta kiva oli kokeilla uutta tekniikkaa. Mukavaa viikonloppua teille kaikille ja kiitos kun piipahditte! :)

Finnish card making site Koukussa Kortteihin organizes a "TechniqueTen" competition/challenge where you make 10 cards using different techniques during the month of April. This is my first make and the tutorial for the technique can be found here. In addition to the tutorial I used hot iron and some baking paper to "suck out" my embossing, this gave the card a nice vintagy look. The beautiful background stamp is from Impression Obsession. This is my first Christmas card for the year 2013, yay! :) I'm not 100 % happy with this card but trying a new technique was really fun, it's great to learn new things. Fantasiakortti Jämistä/ Fantasy Card Out Of Scraps

Eemelin 8 viikkoa kestänyt megarinki on tullut päätökseen, mutta vielä askarrellaan jämistä! Minun ylijäämäni koostuivat paperista ja koristeista, yhtään leimakuvaa ei jäänyt -vaikka kaikissa lähetyksissä taisi olla kaksi kuvaa, olen aina harjoitellut/testaillut värejä toiseen joten niitä ei enää ole, harmistus! Uskon saavani jämistä tämän kortin lisäksi vielä muutaman tehtyä, jee! :) Käytin siis omia leimasimia tähän korttiin, siipiä lukuunottamatta kaikki leimat ovat Kanbanin -siivet olivat ilmaislahja Craft Stamper-lehden kylkiäisenä. Papereita taitaa olla kolmesta tai ehkä neljästäkin lähetyksestä ja kaikki koristeet ovat ringin peruja myös. Tätä fantasiakorttia oli ihana tehdä, olen tosi ihastunut tähän leimaan, onneksi hommasin kerralla kaksi samantyyppistä settiä (tämä on Vivienne-setistä, toisen nimi on Jasper) niin saan leikkiä fantasiaa oikein urakalla... Mannekiini on puettu paper piecing-tekniikalla ja siivet on embossattu kultakimalteisella jauheella. Mukavaa alkavaa viikonloppua sinulle, itsellä on tiedossa hiihtoa ja sukulaisvierailuja.

This fantasy card is made entirely from paper scraps and extra embellishments from a swap. The wings came as a free gift with Craft Stamper Magazine but all the other stamps are from Kanban. I'm happy that I bought two sets of these Kanban Stamps (this stamp is from a set called Vivienne and the other one I got is called Jasper) because I loved making this and am looking forward to trying out all those new stamps! I paper pieced the image and the wings are embossed with gold glitter powder. Have a nice weekend and thanks for visiting me! :)

tiedossa on, että tykkään tehdä monen tyylisiä kortteja -välillä taas vähän vintagea. :) Upea neitoseni on päässyt korttiin Addicted To Stamps And More haasteen luonnoksen mukaisesti -luonnos nähtävillä käännöksen jälkeen. Simppeli, kiva, muuntautuu moneen! Klikkaidupas haasteblogiin katsastamaan muiden DT-ladyjen inspiroivat työt, et pety. :) Päällystin 5x7 korttipohjan DCVW:n samettitekstuuri-pintaisella kartongilla, valmiskuvan lisäksi vain Stardust suihkeilla värjäilty kakkupaperi, yksi kukka ja muutama helmi -taustakartonki on niin upea, että halusin antaa sille tilaa. Mukavaa viikon jatkoa sinulle ja toivottavasti osallistut haasteeseemme! Viime viikkoina osallistujamäärät ovat olleet hurjassa nousussa ja on ollut tosi kiva vierailla erilaisissa blogeissa, mielelläni vierailisin juuri sinun luonasi. :)

many of you know that I like to play around with different styles -vintage being one of them! This card follows the sketch at Addicted To Stamps And More, in my DT-card I added a circle to the sketch for extra fun. :) I think that layers and embellishments go well with vintage -mine is really simple though, I wanted to give some room for the velvet-finished cardstock I covered my 5X7 card base with. The doily is sprayed with some Stardust mists to fit the color scheme and that's mainly it, not much more to tell about my card! I hope you'll join us this week: the sketch is simple and fits many styles. You'll find inspiring DT cards and all the challenge info you need in the challenge blog. The stamp I've used for my focal image is by Crafty Individuals, I think those girls are so beautiful. I made the yellow-orange cardstock myself by having fun with Stardust mists -the card has a beautiful shine IRL, it's a shame it doesn't show in the photo. I did some background stamping with a text stamp from La Blance and added lace and ribbon to finish off the card -not too many embellishments but I think the card looks pretty full anyway. I hope you'll join our Stamps Challenge, I love visiting everybody's blogs, happy crafting!

Kaksi hyvin erilaista korttia / Two Very Different Cards

Hi! I've made maaaany cards this week and it looks like these will be the final two for two different challenges. I have formed an obsession to certain challenges -the ones that I really really like I would not want to miss... I missed last week's challenge at Muse Card Club and I'm happy I now had time to take part again -t's so much fun! This week's muse is Marion Vagg with her colorful card with washi tape. I loved the colors and horizontal stripes but decided to go to for different style, I tried to create a more vintage look. Somebody could say that vintage and bright colors can't go together but I wanted to try anyway! Here's the card:

"Ystävälle" is Finnish language and means "For A Friend". The ballerinas look a bit weird floating there but my original plan, putting flowers in the corner, didn't work any better, I couldn't find flowers that I liked... Well, you can't get it right always can you. :) I'm not super happy with the card but I do like the stripes a lot, thanks Marion for inspiration!

My second card is for Less Is More Challenge, the theme for this week is "Up In The Air". I think the balloon fits to that category... And the bunny looks like he is jumping up to the air as well! I paper pieced the balloon with the same paper that I used for matting. The image is colored with Copics and I also used some white gel pen for the icing of the cake + glitter glue for the cake's wrapping and the flame of the candle.

Time for Addicted To Stamps And More! Our new theme is one of my favorites, vintage! I love vintage images, vintage colors, lace... You name it! I chose a lilac color scheme and am pretty happy how it turned out. The lace was so beautiful that I didn't want to cover it up too much -I just added one big Penny Black flower, embossed with white on the dotty paper that I've used behind the image as well. Pastelli Kollaasikortti/ Pastel Greetings

Moikka! Tämän kortin idea lähti Outlawz-sivuston maanantaihaasteesta, jossa piti CASEta (copy and share everything) DT-jäsenen työ, minun ispiraationi takana on Melissa kortillaan, joka löytyy täältä. Osallistun tällä muutamaan muuhunkin haasteeseen. Kukkaleima on Kanbanin, paperit silppulaatikosta, muutama koriste lisänä, näillä mennään. :) Kuvaus näiden vaaleiden värien kanssa oli vähän hankalaa, mutta saa siitä lähes selvää! Leppoisaa viikonlopun aloitusta!

Hiya! The idea for this card came from Monday Challenge at Outlawz: we were asked to CASE a DT card. I chose Melissa with her card here. I just adored her card and wanted to try similar style -I chose a pastel color scheme because I wanted to use some scraps I had lying around. :) The flower stamp is from Kanban and the text, Onnea, is Finnish language for Congratulations. The picture is not perfect -it was quite difficult with a card with so pale colors, in the end the dark background helped a bit. Have a great weekend and thanks for popping by!

Söpöä Pinksua/ Pretty In Pink

Uulalaa, mikä vaaleanpunainen unelma! Kyseessä on Eemelin megaringin neljäs kortti ja eikös ole harvinaisen hempeää? Vaikka en ole mikäään hempeilyn super-ystävä, olen korttiin tyytyväinen - anoppikin ihastui korttiin niin, että lähti huushollista tämä kortti kassissaan. :) Nyt kohti unten maita, hauskaa viikon alkua kaikille!

Hi friends, I hope you'll like this pink vintage card of mine! It's the fourth card at Eemeli's "mega project" and I quite like how it turned out: I was out of my comfort zone but was able to create something that looked a bit like me after all. My mother-in-law actually liked the card so much that I don't possess it anymore. :) That's all from me now, just a quick post, sleep tight and have a fun beginning of the week!
