New Release at Sami Stamps!

Hi guys!
The wonderful Sami is having the last release for 2013 at Sami Stamps. As you see, the release is SO cute, I bet you can't resist those owls! I had super fun making this card -first coloring the image and then stamping some snowflakes to embellish the card. I added a ribbon and some gems too -I must say I quite like how this turned out!

Unfortunately, this will be my last DT make for Sami Stamps -at least for now. I've really enjoyed working with Sami's images and I've learned a lot about both working with digis and about coloring. I want to thank Sami for the opportunity to be in her DT and also wish her and the DT girls a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the future! I know I'll be having an eye on Sami Stamps blog so this is not a goodbye. Thanks for popping by and have a lovely weekend preparing for the Holidays!

Hello friends,
it's a release day at Sami Stamps and since it's also the first Friday of the month, we are starting a new challenge! The theme is to use a Sami Stamps image and add some red and green. My simple card features one of the new Christmas Joy digis. I've colored the image with Copics and added some green Stickles to the tree too. The image is pretty large so I didn't want to clutter the card too much. My card base is 5 x 7.

New Release at Sami Stamps: Christmas Paws and Christmas Ornaments!

Hi guys!
Here's my card with one of the new images from Sami Stamps Christmas Release. My coloring is done with Copics and I added some of my favorite embellies to this simple card. Birthday Animals at Sami Stamps!

Hi guys!
Yesterday was a release day at Sami Stamps and I'm sure you'll agree Sami's new Birthday Animals are hilarious! The blog is filled with DT inspiration so head on over there. While you are there browsing, don't forget to check out our November challenge CAS with Sami Stamps image.

My card is inspired by this card by Kristina Werner. I've seen her use narrow strips of patterned papers and tag-type of focal points in her cards several times -I love watching her youtube channel. I made some coloring boo boos with my frog (I couldn't decide where my shades were and I ended up shading here and there -did not work!) and ended up covering the whole poor guy with Stickles. He looks quite funny in real life but rather hidious in the photo I think! I really liked the tag I created but the card does look a bit bland -I think I should have done something for the background but this time that was the best I came up with.

Anything Goes at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Hi friends!
Our challenge this week at Addicted to Stamps and More is everyone's favorite: Anything Goes! I chose to make a very straightforward card with colored in image and cute patterned papers -the sentiment is Finnish and means "For Mum". The only embellishments in my card are the little pearls in the flowers that the sweet boy is holding -I was almost adding some paper flowers but hubby thought the card looked more fresh and young without them and after he said that, I totally agreed!

My image is by Sami Siemers Ratliff from Sami Stamps. Sami Stamps Shop is full of beautiful digi stamps and Sami releases new images every second week. She also has a Freebies page that she updates regularly -it's worth keeping an eye on that space. :) Sami is sponsoring this Anything Goes challenge at ATSM, thank you Sami!

White on White at Inkspirational!

Hello friends,
two weeks have gone by and we have a new fab challenge for you at Inkspirational Challenges. It's a color classic: White on White. I've been a somewhat naughty DT member and used pale pinks and some beiges in my focal image but our lovely leader Marina promised me I won't get sacked. ;) The image is a Sami Stamps digi and you can find it here. For my background I've used some embossed card and a doily + embellished my card with punched leaves and flowers -I quite like them in white! Fall Acorns at Sami Stamps

Good morning dear friends in blogland!
I have a card from you with one of the new Fall Acorn images from Sami Stamps. Sami released these images last Friday and we also begun with a new monthly challenge: CAS with Sami Stamps image. There's really cute DT cards with these Fall Acorn images in the challenge post here -do check them out and join us in the CAS fun! One of my favorite images from this release, Little Acorn Bird, is a current freebie at Stamp Shop, don't miss it!

The main inspiration for my card came from Casology cue word "Brown". I think keeping coloring quite monochrome using shades from same color group helps keeping the look more CAS. I chose warm browns which suited this little Indian girl perfectly! I used kraft card as my background and stamped some leaves from Fresh Squeezed Stamps to embellish. I'm unsure of the layout of the card, what do you guys think? I've been discussing CAS design and "trapped white space" with my blogging buddy Sandie lately and this card is maybe on the edge of looking a bit cramped! :)

Fashionable Halloween at Sami Stamps!

Hi guys!
Time for a new release at Sami Stamps! It's called "Fashionable Halloween And Witches and Whiskers" and you can have a better look at all the images at Sami Stamps Shop. When Sami showed these witchy beauties to us DT girls last weekend I instantly knew what I wanted to make: I had just seen Less Is More was having a one layer week with a witch theme and today I finally get to enter! I colored the image with Copics and stamped my sentiment. I didn't have a stamp that would say "You Are Special" but I combined words from 3 different stamps to make it. When inking the stamps I covered the words I didn't need with low-tack tape so I was sure not to get any ink on them. It worked out fine! To finish off the card, I added Stickles and tiny pearls to my witch's web veil so that it would really be the focal point of the card. I hope I didn't over embellish for LIM! :) Thanks for popping by and have a great weekend!

Halloween Kittens!

It's Friday and the joys of weekend are near, yay! I'm here with a Halloween card with a cute cat from Sami Stamps Halloween Kittens Release. Our monthly challenge at Sami Stamps is "Use Halloween Colors" and I hope you'll join us! I colored my image with Copics and used some Halloween papers I had in my stash. The black spider's web is actually a coaster made out of felt so there's quite a lot of dimension in this card! I'm thinking I would give this as a birthday card for my nephew but what do you guys think, is it boyish enough? Thanks for popping by and have a lovely weekend! Time for Bubble Bath!

Hello friends!
A couple of weeks have gone by again and that means Sami is releasing new images at Sami Stamps. The new release is called Bubble Bath Fairies and I'm sure you'll agree these images are really special! This is the first week with our brand new, huge DT with 6 new designers (+me and Anat as oldies!) and I'm blown away with the cards and projects they have done with these images. Do head on over to Sami Stamps so you'll see who the new designers are and what they made!

I'm using the Flower Bath Fairy and I've colored it with Copics. I didn't have quite pale enough blues for the bubbles so I just gave them a small shadow with B10 and covered them with Stickles. There's some glitter in my background paper too so the whole card is pretty glittery and shiny! I stamped the sentiment with pale blue -it looks fine IRL but doesn't show well in the photo, it says "You're the wind beneath my wings".

Princess Play at Sami Stamps

Hi friends!
Sami has an adorable new release at Sami Stamps called Princess Play. I chose an image called "My Sister Is a Princess" and loved it so much that I wanted it to have all the attention -my card is really focusing on the image. I colored it with Copics and added a sentiment from Fresh Squeezed Stamps. Anat made a fab card with the little prince -do head on over to Sami Stamps for checking out her creation -you'll also find big images of all of these new cute digi stamps there!

Since it's the beginning of the month, it's also a challenge time at Sami Stamps. This time we would like to see you use die cuts or punches. Warning! This Card Might Give You Headache! :)

Hello friends!
Time for a new release at Sami Stamps! The release is called "Back to School Apples" and the images are great for fall and school-themed cards. My card has one of the new images as focal point and I enjoyed coloring it with my Copics. Unfortunately my paper choices are a bit wild in this one... I hope you don't get an awful headache! I kind of do but after everything was taped and glued there was nothing to be done. :) I started with a sketch from Retro Sketches but in the end I noticed I did it tiny bit wrong... I hope that's fine!

I wanted to make a CAS card for a change and was inspired by CAS layout I saw at the latest Craft Stamper Magazine. I just love that mag and always wait anxiously for the newest publication! I was also inspired by the numbers challenge at CAS-ual Fridays -it made me remember the "measuring washi tape" I have. I'll take part in some other fantastic challenges too -please see the whole list in the end of this post!

Curious Things!

Time for new release at Sami Stamps! Since it's the first Friday of month, there's a challenge to go with the release -this time it's a super cool one: "Add Something Curious" to your project. This can be interpreted in many different ways - You can add an out of place color, a pop up, a fun embellishment or object, etc. I'm working with Sami's new image called Curious Butterfly -it's part of the new release and an Alice in Wonderland-themed image. I have two curious things in my card: the clock as an embellishment -that refers to the story- and the hidden greeting tag. The sentiment in my tag says: "We are all stories, unfolding day by day -enjoy your next chapter, happy birthday!". Check out what Chaitali and Anat from the DT have made -you'll love their projects! Tänään Sami julkaisi yllä olevat uudet Summer Veggie Fairies digikuvat Sami Stamps blogissaan! Blogista ja Samin nettikaupasta löytyy myös freebie-kuvia, kannattaa ehdottomasti tsekata. Minun vihanneskeijuni on oikeasti retiisikeiju, mutta eipäs minulla ollut retiisin sävyisiä Copiceja joten porkkanakeijuksi muuttui hän! My Veggie Fairy is called Radish Fairy but since I didn't have Copics in those colors she turned into a Carrot Fairy instead! :) I'm writing this not in my home town but in Helsinki -Helsinki is Finland's capital, I used to study here and all my closest girl friends live here so you can believe how much I'm enjoying my time here! I'm visiting the city for 5 days and I also plan to go to all the craft shops and buy new Copics -maybe I can color her in her real colors when I go back home again! Värittelin suloisen Snuggle Bugs julkaisun keijukuvan tuttuun tapaan Copiceilla ja leimailin vähän tekstileimalla kuvan ympärille. Pikkuisen koristeluja ja kortti olikin sitten  siinä. Sami from Sami Stamps released new digis today! They are called "Snuggle Bugs" and you'll find them all here at Sami Stamps blog. There's also a new section for freebies, they are all amazing and you'll find them here! I colored the Protective Fairy image from the new release with Copics and did some stamping with a script stamp for framing.
