New Challenge at TIME OUT!

Hi friends!

TIME OUT Challenges is turning 2 years today! Congratulations to us! :) We are celebrating with a theme challenge

Easter and/or Spring with the optional technique twist of masking.

My card was a quick make. I stamped a large Stampendous lily stamp on watercolor paper with black Versafine ink and water colored it with ZIG Clean Color Brush Pens. Those of you who know me are now like "Whaaaaaat?!? Nonni uses water coloring?!?" But that's the truth... ACTUAL WATER has been used in making of this card. ;) I'm usually terrified of using water (I'm too much of a control freak...) but these pens have completely changed my opinion on water coloring. I used only 20 minutes in coloring this image and although it's not perfect, I think it looks rather nice. I looooove these pens. I think I own some stamps that will work a lot better with these pens than with my Copics. And I usually love my Copics... But these pens are so easy to use and they blend like a dream and leave no streaks to the paper... I need more colors, I only have 12! :) I had to take the pic in unnatural light -in nature the blending looks a lot smoother. The sentiment is "Happy Easter" in Finnish and I also used a brick wall stencil for inking the background. I don't actually love the retroish color palette of this card but well, as I said... It was a quickie! Quick decisions were made! :)

Christmas in July...

Hi friends!

Here's a simple Christmas card I made with cute angels from Stampendous. I've colored them with Copics and added white details with gel pen. I also added shine to the stars, wings and " the caps" the angels are wearing. This card turned out quite cute I think -I do regret I didn't heat emboss the sentiment with gold for example, it looks a bit plain just stamped! I haven't made DT cards lately due to work issues but I'm popping by to share a quick card that works as a DT card for the current TIME OUT Challenges:

My card is very simple: just a big Stampendous flower colored in with Copic's, matted on kraft card and attached to a card base. Marika gave me the idea for how to color this flower: this was my first attempt on this kind of coloring and the blending is definitely not perfect but I'm happy with some of the petals. :) Äidille is Finnish for "For Mum".

New Challenge at One Layer Christmas Cards!

My DT card is sort of vintagey. I sponged 4 shades of brown DI:s to my card base and gave it a spritz of water for extra distressing. After that was dry I heat embossed the Christmassy Stampendous stamp with gold powder and was satisfied with the card -I think it didn't need a sentiment or anything. Dancing in the Rain Reminder!

Good morning guys!
Just a quick post before heading to work... I'd like to remind you of our current TIME OUT Challenge with the inspiration phrase "Dancing in the Rain". You may interpret this how you want! My take on the inspiration phrase this time is a bit out there, I know... But I've used a color scheme with spring colors -it rains a lot during spring, doesn't it! The blue especially makes me think of rain. As you know, word inspiration challenges don't have to be so literal -let your creativity flow! :)

I've used vellum and Copics for the background of my card. This is one of the techniques I've been learning in Online Card Classes Clean and Simple 3. I stamped the cute birds for interest and added an Easter greeting in Finnish. Super simple! Thanks for popping by... And don't forget to take TIME OUT and join us here!

Addicted to CAS!

Hi guys!
We have a new challenge for you at Addicted to Stamps and More, it's the favorite of many, CAS! Our design team is full of experienced CAS makers so if you are looking for inspiration, head to the challenge blog. You'll find all the challenge details there too -Melonheadz is continuing as our generous July sponsor.

My card is so simple that in my opinion, it's a bit boring! :) Maybe the main reason why I don't like it is the messed up text -I highlighted both the swirl and sentiment with white gel pen but messed up the sentiment, buhuu... I didn't have time to make a new card but I think I'll some day make a remake with maybe two swirls and sentiment without highlighting. Better luck next time!

Sorry for the short post, I'm writing this in the middle of my summer holiday travels and have a get-together in five minutes... So happy crafting for you all, see you again next time!

Faux Linen And Glossy Resist

Vielä on pari Tekniikkakympin korttia bloggaamatta, tässä niistä kaksi, Faux Linen (ohje täällä) ja Glossy Resist (ohje täällä). Etenkin tuo Glossy Resist oli minusta ihana tekniikka ja aion ehdottomasti käyttää sitä pian uudestaan! Faux Linen-tekniikkaa taidan kokeilla seuraavaksi ihan ilman leimakuvaa, vaikka tuo Impression Obsessionin sudenkorento-leimasin kaunis onkin. Kiemurat meni vähän överiksi tässä... Glossy Resist-korttiin olen aika tyytyväinen, siitä tuli mukavan simppeli ja söpökin. :) Mukavaa toukokuista viikonloppua ystävät ja kiitos kun piipahdit!

Those of you who visit me more regularly have seen cards made for "TechniqueTen", it's a really cool technique challenge that has been running for the month of April at Finnish card making site Koukussa Kortteihin. I still have a couple of cards that I haven't posted and the ones that you see here now are made for "Faux Linen"- (tutorial here) and Glossy Resist (tutorial here) challenges. These were both fun techniques, my Faux Linen card is not my favorite (I went a bit crazy with those swirls...) but I loved the effect of Glossy Resist -I'm definitely going to be using that technique soon again. Tänään näytille kolmas Tekniikkakympin kortti, tätä tekniikkaa olen käyttänyt ennenkin joten oli vähän helpompi haaste tämä -tappelen esim. yhä sen "ressatun akryylimaali"-haasteen kanssa -ilmeisesti monille muillekin juuri se tuottaa vaikeuksia! Tämän kortin keskiössä on elegantti nainen (Craft Stamper kylkiäisenä tullut leimasin), kiemuraleimailut on Stampendousin kiemuroita, setti hommattu Tiimarin alelaarista. Teksti Chocolate Baroquen. Olen ihan tyytyväinen ideaani käyttää päällimmäisessä kerroksessa valkeaa kartonkia ja välikerroksissa tuota ruskeaa, joka pääsi myös rouvani hattuun. :) Alun perin minulla oli kukka myös oikeassa alakulmassa, mutta otin sen lopulta pois -yksi tuntui riittävän!

We are enjoying of April showers here -I love the rain, it makes the snow melt faster!
My card is for the "TechniqueTen" at Finnish card making site Koukussa Kortteihin, this is the third card of ten cards total. I was familiar with this technique, triple stamping, before, I really like the effect and am quite pleased with this particular card if I may say so myself! The elegant lady is a Rogue Redhead Designs stamp, the swirls are from Stampendous and the sentiment is from a Chocolate Baroque set. I paper pieced my lady's hat with the same brown paper I used in my middle layers. If you want to see all my "TechniqueTen"-cards, they are labeled as "Tekniikkakymppi/TechniqueTen. Veden Sävyissä / Colors Of The Mediterranean

Eilen en saanut mentyä nukkumaan ja teinkin sitten kortin Muse Card Clubiin, yhteen suosikkihaasteistani. Muusana eli inspiraation tarjoana toimi tällä kertaa Marion Vagg, klikkaamalla hänen nimeään näet inspiskortin. Omassani hyödynsin jämälaatikon papereita sekä Tiimarin alekorista parilla eurolla napattua Stampendousin leimasinta. Teksti on Woodwaren setistä ja kuten kuvakin, embossattu valkoisella. Jos paikkakunnallasi on Tiimari, kannattaa nyt käväistä -monissa Tiimareissa on paljon oikein hyvää askartelutarviketta -70 prosentin alennuksella, muokkaavat valikoimaansa. Mukavaa torstaita ja hyvää viikonlopun odotusta!

Here's a card I made yesterday for Muse Card Club, one of my favorite challenges! This week's muse is Marion Vagg -click on her name for the beautiful inspiration card. The elements from her card that I wanted to use in mine were the colors, white embossing and layout (leaving some white to the other end of the card). I used Stampendous stamp for image, the sentiment is from a Woodware set and green pieces of card are from my scraps box, they have a beautiful shine. After embossing I finished off my image with some turquoise gems. Thanks for popping by, have a great day!

Leimasin tekstin siten, että Magnolian kastelukannu-ympyrä oli kiinnitetty korttipohjaan irrottettavilla liimapisteillä -leimailun jälkeen korotin ympyrän 3d-tarroilla korttipohjasta ylös. Kastelukannu on väritetty Copiceilla. Käythän haasteblogissa kurkkaamassa muiden DT-leidien työt -tässä porukassa tehdään upeita CAS-kortteja. Toivottavasti sinäkin innostut! Askartelun iloa. :)

My card is inspired by my wonderful DT-mate Danielle and her card from last week, you'll find it here. Thanks Danielle for letting me to use your idea! For stamping my text (Good Spring Wishes in Finnish) I attached the circle to the base card with re-attachable glue dots. After stamping I raised the circle with 3d-sticky fixers. The watering can is Magnolia's image and colored with Copics.  Please use the link above for admiring the work of the rest of the DT, they all make amazing CAS cards. Deanne Jean is behind the inspiration of my card, she is this week's Muse at Muse Card Club. Click her name to see the amazing card she made! I focused on the colors, making a border and having flowers in the corner. I stamped a swirly flower image from Stampendous with Distress Ink and embossed with clear powder. I paper pieced the flower part, paper pierced the border with the help of a ruler and added the sentiment. Hyvää Kevättä is Finnish language and means "Good Spring Wishes".  I'd also like to enter:

Huomentapäivää! Joululomalla sattui niin hassusti, että hain aika moneen DT-pestiin -lomalla taisi olla liikaa aikaa roikkua netissä. :) Nyt näette ensimmäisen DT-työni amerikkalaisessa Tuesday Throwdown haasteessa. Hi friends in blogland! I had quite a lot of time on Christmas holiday and I ended up applying for more than one challenge DT:s... :)  Here you see my first card for Tuesday Throwdown design team. I wanted to apply for new DT:s since I want to get better at card making and also make new crafty friends -I think I've already developed my skills since I was chosen to my first international DT, Addicted to Stamps and More, last fall. Card making just gets more and more fun all the time and I'm loving to be part of all of the DT:s!

So, now it's time for Tuesday Throwdown and the challenge is a favorite for many of us: Bling It On! Merry Monday Challenge

Modernilla joulukortilla Merry Monday-haasteeseen... Tässä haasteessa on aina ihania, simppeleitä luonnoksia, joilla joulukortit syntyvät kuin itsestään! Vielä kun kuvaus-olosuhteet olisivat vähemmän pimeät ja sateiset... Luonnossa kortin sävymaailma (oliivinvihreä ja lilan eri sävyt) on mielestäni aika herkullinen, tässä näyttää lähinnä laimealta. :( Leimasin peuran Rangerin Perfect Mediumilla ja töpöttelin päälle lilaa Perfect Pearlsia. Mustat aluskartongit lisäsin, jotta sai korttiin pientä särmää. Tällaista tällä kertaa! Kiitos vierailustasi ja kommentoi ehtiessäsi kaatosateisen päiväni iloksi!

I'll take part in the Merry Monday Challenge with this contemporary christmas card. I really like Merry Monday -they always have great sketches, your cards come together easy peasy! It was really dark and rainy when I took this picture, it's a shame since in real life the olive green and different shades of lilac look really nice at least to my eye. :) I added some black cardstock for extra impact and stamped the deer with Ranger's Perfect Medium and lilac Perfect Pearls.
