New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational. This time it's the wonderful photo inspiration you see above. I chose to be inspired of earthy colors, word love and flowers. I made a smooshed DI background and used a Penny Black stamp which I heat embossed with white powder. The sentiment is stamped with Versafine and heat embossed with clear powder for glossy finish -it helps bringing the sentiment up from the dark bg. The sentiment is from a wonderful Simon Says Stamp set I received for Christmas from my fellow Ink DT member Pia! Thanks Pia! :)

Our guest designer this time is Kristina. Play along and you could guest design for us too! :) Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you at Inkspirational!

Happy Day

Hi friends!
I'm sharing a card I made for a couple of challenges in mind.

Crafty Individuals has a Face Value Challenge. It's just closing but I'm happy I had time to make a card with this gorgeous Crafty Individuals lady! I created a fun headpiece for her using a Penny Black die (this is actually a leaf) and some sequins and rhinestones. I colored the pretty lady with Copics and added Wink of Stella glitter brush pen to the background.

Mod Squad Challenge is Anything Goes with dies  so I'll enter this simple CAS card there too. The sponsor is OneHappyCut.com -they have awesome dies, wish me luck! :)

Shine at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational! It's "Shine", a very cool word prompt! "Shine" is perfect for Christmas cards or feminine birthday cards isn't it... So do play along! If you need more inspiration, check out the wonderful DT cards in the challenge blog. Our guest designer this time is Rocky and I'm sure she'd love you to pop by at her blog too!

My card is stamped with a beautiful Peny Black stamp I got to try out from Milla when we met IRL a couple of weeks ago. She challenged me to go all wild with Stickles... This to me means using the Stickles straight from the bottle and not over-cautiously applying it with a brush or a needle... And that's what I've done here with red Stickles. :) The silver matting card adds a bit more shine to the card. The sentiment is Finnish and means "Christmas Peace". The Stickles has a beautiful, glittering shine... It's a shame these things are so hard to photograph!

Have a fun weekend everyone and I hope to see you playing along at Inkspirational.

Autumn Leaves

Hi friends!
The bad news are that I've caught a cold... The good news are that if I can't work or do sports, I can craft, yay! So that's what I've been doing the whole afternoon. :) There's many great challenges with autumn themes at the moment and I'm entering my card to CASology (Autumn) and CASual Fridays (Fall colors and leafs). I was also inspired by the colors of the beautiful inspiration picture at The Shabby Tea Room (Splendor of Fall) but let's see what they think of my pretty clean and simple (and appleless card, I wasn't sure if it was a requirement!) card -I do think it has a shabby feel though!

I began making this card by misting some Stardust mists to my background. I punched two leaves and inked their edges for softer look. I then decided something horizontal was needed and added some cute washi with retro feel. After stamping my sentiment I felt something was still needed so I added some tiny tiny white pearls to my washi -they are a bit hard to see but there's 5 of them on the right side of the leaves. I adhered my piece to the base card and voila -my fall card was done. :)

My good blogging friend (you know who you are!) is going for a lovely trip tomorrow. Enjoy! Life is beautiful! xx

Inkspirational Vintage Card

Hi guys!
I wrote last week that I plan to enter all the Inkspirational Challenges in August and this is my second card out of the 4 challenges. I used the same stamp that I used in my first Inkspirational card here -I was even selected to top 5 with that one, yayyyy! This week I stamped and embossed the image with DI Walnut Stain. My card is based on an inspiration photo of a beautiful, vintage school-poster (in the end of this post), I had several ideas but in the end I went for a quite traditional vintage card. My background paper is very inspired by the inspiration photo... And so is the color scheme of the card. I think when you look quickly at the inspiration pic, orange pops out so I chose orange to brighten up the otherwise all brown look. I love my washi-tape with orange "drops" -so retro and fun! I was even able to sneak in a doily -my all time favorite vintage-style embellishment ... Or maybe lace is my favorite? Or pearls? Hard to decide. :) Thanks for visiting!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Inkspirational...

Hi friends!
This card is for Inkspirational challenge blog. I've been following this blog since the challenges started but haven't had chance to participate too often. There's always a monthly rota in the challenges of Inkpirational and I'm determined I'll make a card for all August challenges -so if the Inkspirational DT members visit, watch out, you'll meet me every week for 4 weeks now on! :)

I'm loving this week's Inkspirational color challenge with pink and green -I din't have an exact match but I hope I'm close enough with my colors. I've sponged my inks through and oval stencil and stamped some script through it too. My main image is a beautiful flower from Penny Black, I'm using it first time now. Little gems finish off the card. Hope you like! Thanks for popping by!

Make Your Mark at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Hi guys!
Here's my DT card for Addicted to Stamps and More -we are having one of our very fun and popular Make Your Mark challenges. Usually at Make Your Mark you'd see me coloring in a stamped image with my beloved Copics but this time I made something different -my "marker" is a white crayon. To create my patterned panel I first stamped the flowers with Stazon to Glossy cardstock. When the stamping had dried I used my crayon to draw highlights to my flowers and then it was time to sponge some Distress Inks -the crayon resists the inks and stays white. I added borders from dotty patterned paper and attached the panel to an embossed card base - a gift from a stamping friend Tuula. This was a quick and easy make!

The design team of ATSM is offering this week's Top Addict a very special prize: our winner gets fantastic two image sheets from Nicecrane:  The Roosevelt Bears 1 and Roosevelt Bears 2. That's 8 amazing digi stamps! So, take out your markers or some other coloring medium, make a project and play along, I can't wait to visit your blogs! You'll find more DT inspiration and all the challenge details in the challenge blog. Happy crafting!

Two Butterfly Cards for Jackie Rockwell's Challenges

Jackie Rockwell from Rockwell Designs is having a really fun color challenge -or 10 color challenges actually! Jackie has posted 3 of them so far and I believe she will post a new challenge every week from now on. All the challenges run until 22nd of September. Click here for all the challenge rules and details and learn more about the prize -it's a free blog header! I would soooo want to win that so fingers crossed! :) I'll try to make a card to all of the challenges and here are my two first cards.

The card above is for the Nectarine Challenge. I stamped the image (Stamp it Australia) directly on design paper and used kraft card base and some black gems. I'm quite pleased with how pretty this looks and with so little effort! I'd like to enter this card also to:
http://craftsandmechallenges.blogspot.fi/ Anything Goes
http://onestitchatatimechallenge.blogspot.fi/ Use a favorite (collage style stamps)

The card below is for Jackie's Tender Shoots Challenge. My card base is again kraft, I used grey as my accent color (neutrals are allowed) and a die-cut butterfly as my focal point. The sentiment is from a Penny Black set. This was another super easy card but I used more time figuring out my layout. I'd like to enter this card also to:

That's all from me for now, thanks for popping by!

Make Your Mark At Addicted To Stamps And More!

Tällä viikolla Addicted To Stamps And More haasteessa väritellään leimakuvia tai käytetään miten vain kyniä/tusseja/liituja! Tämä onkin yksi suosituimmista haasteistamme, itse värittelin DT-kortissani olevat Penny Blackin kukat Copiceilla. Korttipohja ja pinkki paperi on leimailtu -ympyräleimasin on tehty itse softiksesta ja päälle leimailin Gelatinsin pilkku-ympyräleimasimella. Tein kortin ystäväni tyttärelle, joka on taiteellinen, boheemi ja kaikin puolin hauska mimmi -koitin saada hänen luonteeseensa sopivan korttia aikaiseksi. :)  Sponsorinamme ATSM:ssa jatkaa  Whoopsi Daisy joten nyt kaikki joukolla osallistumaan! Askartelun iloa!

psst...
ATSM Blog Hop on vielä muutaman päivän käynnissä, tarjolla on 8 Nicecrane- palkintoa. Tsekkaapas linkki!

Hi friends!
We had an amazing response to our Anything Goes Challenge at Addicted To Stamps And More, thanks so much all of you who participated! This week we have another popular theme: Make Your Mark  - Anything Goes as long as you use any markers, pencils, crayons or other coloring mediums in your project. In my DT card I used Copics to color my Penny Black flowers. The background and the pink paper are hand stamped with a home-made solid circle stamp (made out of foam) and Gelatins spotty circle stamp. The sentiment "Ylioppilaalle" is made with computer and means "For A Graduate" -this card goes to my colleague's daughter who is very artsy, modern, bohemian and fun -I had her in my mind while I tried to create something less traditional for her graduation card. I hope you'll now head on over to our challenge blog for more DT inspiration and all the challenge details -Whoopsi Daisy is continuing as our generous sponsor. Happy crafting!

psst... There's still a couple of days for participating the first ever ATSM Blog Hop. There's 8 Nicecrane products for crabs!

Keeping It CAS

Here's my card for the latest Less Is More Challenge (sketch), The Dynamic Duos Challenge (colors), Perfect Sentiments Challenge (feminine) and Simon Says Stamp Challenge (Happy Mail). I've been quite busy lately and you've been seeing only my DT cards here -it was fun to pair up some challenges now and create just for fun, I've had a free morning, yay! I masked the center section, sponged the frame with Distress Inks and stamped small flowers with the same inks for tone on tone look. The sentiment is from a Penny Black set, it's raised a bit with 3d foam. A button with twine finishes of my card. Thanks for popping by, I hope you like this little card of mine!

Elegantti Meininki/ One Elegant Lady

Moi!
Yllä DT-korttini uunituoreeseen Koukussa Korttehin haasteeseen, haasteen aiheena on väricombo puna-musta-valkoinen ja tällainen on minun tulkintani. I-ha-na neitoseni on Day For Daisiesin digikuva ja on kyllä upea! Kellopaperi on taustaleimasimella leimattu ja joskus salaiselta ystävältä saatu, upea sekin. Teksti Penny Black, kukat Fiskarsin leikkurilla, väritys Copiceilla, siinäpä kaikki yksityiskohdat tuli käsiteltyä! :)

Tutustuin Day For Daisies- kuviin Digi Sketch DT-hommien kautta ja olen sittemmin ostanut niitä sievoisen pinon... Löytäessäni sivuston joitain viikkoja sitten, oli siellä parhaillaan menossa DT-haku Sami Stamps digikuville. Ilmeisesti satuin oikeaan paikkaan oikeaan aikaan, sillä pari päivää sitten sain kuulla, että minut oli valittu porukkaan, jeiii!! Sami Stamps kuvia voi hankkia tuon suoran linkin kautta, Day For Daisies-kaupan kautta tai Etsystä.

Hi!
Above is my DT-card for this week's challenge at Finnish card making site Koukussa Korttehin (in Finnish only, needs registration). Our theme this time is "red, black and white" and this is how I chose to use the colors. This amazing digistamp is from A Day For Daisies -I colored the image with Copics and added some flowers, cut with a Fiskars punch, to embellish her dress. I can't tell you how much I love this image! The sentiment is from a Penny Black set.

I found A Day For Daisies some weeks ago through DT work at Digi Sketch Challenge and through ADFD I found that Sami Stamps was having a DT call. I seemed to have been in a right place at a right time because I was selected to this very talented group, wow!!! Sami Stamps are available through Sami Stamps blogDay For Daisies and Etsy. I'm really excited about being chosen to this group -the images have this simple, tender beauty that I love. I hope you'll go and check them out!

That's it from me now, I hope you are all well and have had a relaxing weekend. Thanks for popping by!

Vintage Theme at Addicted To Stamps And More!

Addicted To Stamps And More haastaa jälleen! Tällä kertaa teemanamme on vintage, minulle tosi mieluisa aihe, ovathan vintagekuvat yksiä suosikkejani korttien teossa. Sponsorimme on upea Inspired by Stamping. Askartelun iloa!

Time for Addicted To Stamps And More! Our new theme is one of my favorites, vintage! I love vintage images, vintage colors, lace... You name it! I chose a lilac color scheme and am pretty happy how it turned out. The lace was so beautiful that I didn't want to cover it up too much -I just added one big Penny Black flower, embossed with white on the dotty paper that I've used behind the image as well. For more DT-inspiration and all the challenge details, click here. We are proud to have Inspired by Stamping sponsoring us this week, I hope you'll join us! Happy crafting!

Musiikkia! / Less Is More - Music

Heipsun hei,
yllä oleva korttini on Less Is More haasteen one layer-viikon työ... Aiheena on musiikki. Ups. Mutta tulipahan harjoiteltua!

Hiya,
above is my card for the one layer week at Less Is More. I've been practicing my CAS skills for several months now but I'm still quite new to one layers -if the LIM designers/other people with CAS-wisdom  pop by here, could you tell me if I've over-embellished the card with my three blings? In the rules it says "minimal embellishing" and I of course agree to that, but those swirls around the violin were screaming for something! :) I think these one layer cards are pretty demanding -stamping has to be smudge-free, sentiment straight, positioning of the elements just perfect... When the look is simple, all the "faults" are easy to notice. This was my 4th attempt on this card design -I tried 3 different kinds with different stamps but this is the only one I wanted to post! lol. Oh well, I anyways enjoyed this "CAS exercising" a lot. :) Thanks for popping by!

Muse Card Club

Hi friends,
this is a quick post -I should soooo be sleeping already. I found a great challenge blog some days ago, it's a bit different and really inspiring, Muse Card Club. The first muse was Amy and this is my take on her lovely card. I  concentrated on the technique she used for the flowers (loved it!), the stripes and small pearls (they are in the first letters of the text, not too well visible in the photo). The text is Finnish language and means Happy Easter. This is it for now, I have to work tomorrow morning, I'm off to bed! :)

Ruusut/ Roses

:) Teksti on Penny Blackin setistä. Taaimmainen ruusu on leimattu ensin, mutta se on ns. toinen leimauskerta -ensimmäisen kerran leimasin suttupaperille saadakseni mustetta vähemmäksi. Päällimmäinen ruusu on leimattu sitten ihan normaalisti haalean kuvan päälle. Hyvää viikonloppua, kiitos kun piipahdit!

Hiya, friends!
These roses were originally stamped only for practice cut since they turned out nicely, I made a card. :) The image is from a new stamp set I received as a gift from my friend -unfortunately I was unwrapping so eagerly that I threw away the package and can't tell you the maker of the stamp... The text is from Penny Black. The rose further back was stamped first but it's a "second go" - I stamped first on a scrap paper to remove some ink. The darker rose is stamped normally on top of the lighter rose.  Have a nice weekend, thanks for popping by!

Korttikeräys TAYS:n keskosille / Hedgehogs for babies

Moikka,
siilikortin siivin uuteen vuoteen. :)  Jonsu järjestää blogissaan onnittelukorttikeräyksen TAYS:n keskosvauvoille, klikkaa tästä niin sinäkin pääset osallistumaan! Mielessäni on muutamakin söpöstelykortti, jolla aion tähän keräykseen osallistua. :) Mahtavaa alkanutta vuotta sinulle.

Hi!
I begin the new year with this hedgehog card. It's made for Jonsu's cardraising of congratulations cards for prematurely born children in a special ward at Tampere hosptital. If you'd like to delight some Finnish families with preemies, click here for Jonsu's blog. You would think that this simple card came together in no time at all but I was actually working on it on many occasions yesterday... The image is so super cute that everything seemed too much: floral papers were overly cute, baby-embellishments were too much... So this is how it turned out in the end. I guess I accidentally formed my design philosophy: let's not overdo it! :)

I'd like to try my luck in these challenges:

I'd like to wish you a great start of the year 2013!

Sano Se Kukkasin / Say It With Flowers

Tämän viikon KK-haasteessa on tarjolla luonnos, yllä DT-korttini. Käytin toteutukseen Penny Blackin leimasinsettiä ja koristeita aika maltillisesti, hyvin simppeli kortti tuli tästä. Osallistuhan haasteeseen, hienot sponsorit huolehtivat palkitsemisesta jälleen kerran. :)  Tämän kortin myötä toivottelen hyvää uutta vuotta 2013!

Hooked on Cards Challenge provides a sketch this week and above is my take on it. I decided to use Penny Black's flower stamp set to decorate the papers and added some minor embellishments, a really simple card. With these flowers I wish you all a happy new year 2013!

Melkein Valmista/ Almost There!

Huomenta!

Nyt tulossa esittelyyn vuoden viimeiset joulukortit. Jihuu!!! Teen kaksi eri postausta, jotta haasteet eivät mene sekaisin... Ensin siis tämä Penny Black-leimakuvalla varustettu, kimmeltävä kortti. Korttipohja on hopeista helmiäiskartonkia, johon olen hopeisella musteella leimannut lumihiutaleita. :)

Good morning!
The last Christmas cards for this year, wuhuu!! I'll make two separate posts, I don't want  to mix up the challenges. First this shiny card with Penny Black's image. The card base is silver, pearlescent cardstock and I stamped snowflakes to it with silver ink. The light brown card is also pearlescent, the added snowflakes glimmer beautifully and I even added some glitter to the image. Shiny shiny! :)

Make Your Mark Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Heippa hei,
Addicted to Stamps and More haastaa nyt tussien käyttöön! :) All That Scraps toimii haasteen sponsorina.

Hi you all,
Addicted to Stamps and More challenges you to use your markers this time! No matter what brand they are as long as they are used. :) Head over to the challenge blog for details and to check out the beautiful creations of other DT-ladies. All That Scraps sponsors the challenge.

I used Copics to color in a stamped image from my new Penny Black- flower stamp set. To create the cover I cut a 5x7 card base to half and punched the decorative corners and borders with my Fiskars punch. I then glued the cover to red-colored cardstock to show off the decorative design better. I left the red cardstock a bit bigger so that I could score a  "hinge" and attach it to the back cover of the card base- now it opens like a normal card again. Some designer paper and pearls and I announced it ready! :) I look forward seeing what you'll create with your markers.  Happy crafting!

Joulusiilit / Christmas Hedgehogs

kuva on tarkempi isommaksi klikattuna/ click pic for sharper look
Hip hei!
Ulkona on harvinainen valoilmiö... Aurinko!

Hi!
The hedgehogs singing some carols in my card are too cute to be true! I have got this stamped image as a gift from "Secret Wishes" in a Finnish card-making site Hooked on Cards and I really like it -It's Penny black's right? I've done some more modern Christmas cards too but there is something lovely in the traditional green and red combination, it gives you a true Christmas feeling! At the moment I'm seeing outside something that we haven't seen too much lately -The Sun is Shining! Yippee! I had to pause my writing for some minutes and head to take photos of the cards I've made, the light makes it  A LOT easier. :) Have a nice day and thanks for visiting me here!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
