Friendship Is Like a Sheltering Tree

Hi friends!
Here's my card for this week's Less Is More Challenge -trees. October is breast cancer awareness month so I chose pink as my accent color for the sentiment from Gelatins. I stamped the sentiment first, masked it, and stamped the tree from Kanban. I embellished the tree with three gems and finished the card off with pierced border. I pierced some crafting table too... :) The front panel is popped up with dimensionals for added interest. Thanks for popping by and for all the sweet comments I get from you all!

African Violet

Here it is! My final card for Jackie's Pantone Color Challenges, it is for African Violet. I paper pieced her dress and used Copics for the little coloring I've done here -I did her shopping bags and hair. The stamps are from Kanban.  I hope you like it, I think it's quite fun and girly! One Layer Wednesday

Hi friends!
I've been working with one particular card for several days now... I've thrown 5 versions to trash already and today when I came from work and looked at the mess in my craft space my inspiration was zero or maybe -5. Anyways, then I saw the challenge at One Layer Wednesday, it's here in Heather's wonderful blog. I think this might be my first time entering this challenge but I'm very familiar to it, I try to visit OLW blogs weekly nowadays and know what the ladies there are working with. :) This time there's a recipe: one ink color, one image, one sentiment. I started to go through my stamps and yayy, fun was back! These are maybe nothing that wouldn't have been seen before but I had a great time. Now I can clean the table and start again with that monster card I have on my list.... Maybe not before tomorrow. :)

First, a simple wedding invitation. The color is sort of plum/burgundy, I thought that could easily be someone's theme color for wedding. Mine was lime! The sentiment is a bit non-CAS but it was the only one I had that fit.

Vintage feeling, kraft card, brown ink. I love English language for the ability for these kind of sayings... Finnish can't be played with like that!

Happy yellow for new baby! Could work for both sexes I think.

Black and white for last: classic color combo for this chick lady in her classical outfit. The stamping came out really heavily on the bottom of her dress but it was a good accident -gives her great curves!

Runaway Inspired

Let me start with thanking all of you who have left brilliant photographing tips to my yesterday's post/sent your ideas by email! No card stand today either so I'm trying - not perfect yet but getting there, I have to search for the best place to take the pictures (considering light) and still study my camera a bit. :)

This card is for the Runaway Inspired Challenges, new challenge just went live and I was really waiting for it. :) I found this challenge site two weeks ago and wow I just love those inspiration pictures! This week's image is below this text, it's a dress by Peter Pilotto. I loved the patterned fabric, I knew I had no paper in my stash to imitate it so I made my own paper with Stardust Mists, I tried to imitate the pattern and texture of the fabric. I stamped the Kanban trees for a stylish, yet calm impression -this is birthday card for my friend who has been a bit poorly lately so I didn't want to make anything "anxious" -though I think that's quite seldom anybody's goal in card making lol! I left all embellishments out also and I quite like that decision. Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you again!

In my simple card I used Kanban stamps, I think this is such a funny set... The photo is a bit blurry (sorry!) but the sentiment says "These Boots Were Made For Shopping" lol! I did my very little coloring with Copics but I must mention I also colored the pearls -they were the wrong shade of green and it worked surprisingly well to alter them with markers, I never tried that before! I'll keep this short since I'm off to bed -when ATSM challenge goes live it's 2 am my time and I always schedule my posts -today I however forgot to do it during the day and now it's already past midnight... :) So now my friends, good night!

Vielä on julkaisematta muutama Tekniikkakymppikortti, tässä kollaasileimaus-aiheinen työ. Leimasimet ovat Kanbanilta sekä askartelulehden kylkiäisenä tulleita. Kollaasileimaus olikin yksi haasteen suosikkitöistäni ja olen sitä käyttänyt jo uudelleenkin, täällä. Taustan leimailut on tehty Versafinellä ja Distress-musteilla, mannekiinin hattu on väritetty Copiceilla, mekko paper piecing-tekniikalla. Hyvää viikonloppua!

There's still some TechniqueTen cards that I haven't posted... Here's one with "collage stamping". This was one of my favorite techniques in the challenge and I've used it again too, here. I've done my background stamping with Versafine and Distress Inks, there's some Copic coloring in the hat and the dress is paper pieced. My stamps are a combination of Kanban and freebies. Poltettu patiikki / Burned Batik

KK-Tekniikkakympin korteilla jatketaan, tässä kortissa käytetty tekniikka on nimeltään "poltettu batiikki", ohjeen löydät täältä. Väritön embossausjauhe ylikuumennetaan, efekti on aivan eri kuin tavallisessa resist-embossauksessa. Tykkäsin tästä tekniikasta todella paljon! Puu on Kanbanin leimasinsetistä ja reunoilla olevat tekstit Priman pikkuisella script-leimalla leimailtu. Kortti on käsitelty DI mustein, hain sellaista liukuvärjäys-meininkiä ja ei se ihan pieleen mennyt! :) Vasempaan kulmaan leimaamani teksti sen sijaan meni ihan päin pyllyä ja se pitkin sitten peittää erillisellä kartongin palalla. Muutama ärripurri pääsi... Mutta nyt on silmä jo vähän tottunut. Mukavaa viikonloppua kaikille!

More cards for the TechniqueTen Challenge I've been telling you about lately -you'll find all the cards labeled with "Tekniikkakymppi/TehcniqueTen". This challenge was all about learning "Burned Batik", you can find the tutorial here. I loved this technique: you overheat clear embossing powder and the result is completely different than in regular resist embossing. Wow! The tree stamp comes from Kanban, the script on the edges is a Prima stamp and I've used DI inks to give color to my card. I originally stamped my sentiment directly on the card with the tree -as you can already guess, it smudged... So I had to cover it. You can believe I was a bit %(/&%¤%&/ for some minutes but I'm over it now. :) I hope you like my card and thanks for popping by... Have a wonderful weekend!

Color Challenge At Addicted To Stamps And More!

Addicted To Stamps And More haastaa tällä viikolla kivalla väritriolla. Nämä kolme väriä tulisivat olla pääosassa työssäsi, lisäksi voit käyttää neutraaleja eli mustaa ja valkoista. Minä päädyin leimailemaan jälleen kerran paper piecing-tekniikkaa käyttäen, mekko ja henkari ovat Kanbanin setistä ja muut leimasimet ovat askartelulehden kylkiäisenä tulleen ompelu-aiheisen setin leimoja. we have a beautiful color trio for you this week at Addicted To Stamps And More! These three colors have to be the main colors of your card -you can also you neutrals such as white and black. I ended up stamping using paper piecing- technique, one of my favorite techniques! The dress and the clothes hanger come from Kanban, rest of the stamps are from a set that came with Cards and Papercraft some months ago. The twine I've used is from The Twinery. I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had so much time for card making as I would want to... During busy times ready-made sketches help and for this card I used the currant sketch at Retro Sketches, I think it's a really cute one! Fairytale or Fantasy at Digi Sketch Challenge

Fantasiakortti Jämistä/ Fantasy Card Out Of Scraps

Eemelin 8 viikkoa kestänyt megarinki on tullut päätökseen, mutta vielä askarrellaan jämistä! Minun ylijäämäni koostuivat paperista ja koristeista, yhtään leimakuvaa ei jäänyt -vaikka kaikissa lähetyksissä taisi olla kaksi kuvaa, olen aina harjoitellut/testaillut värejä toiseen joten niitä ei enää ole, harmistus! Uskon saavani jämistä tämän kortin lisäksi vielä muutaman tehtyä, jee! :) Käytin siis omia leimasimia tähän korttiin, siipiä lukuunottamatta kaikki leimat ovat Kanbanin -siivet olivat ilmaislahja Craft Stamper-lehden kylkiäisenä. Papereita taitaa olla kolmesta tai ehkä neljästäkin lähetyksestä ja kaikki koristeet ovat ringin peruja myös. Tätä fantasiakorttia oli ihana tehdä, olen tosi ihastunut tähän leimaan, onneksi hommasin kerralla kaksi samantyyppistä settiä (tämä on Vivienne-setistä, toisen nimi on Jasper) niin saan leikkiä fantasiaa oikein urakalla... Mannekiini on puettu paper piecing-tekniikalla ja siivet on embossattu kultakimalteisella jauheella. Mukavaa alkavaa viikonloppua sinulle, itsellä on tiedossa hiihtoa ja sukulaisvierailuja.

This fantasy card is made entirely from paper scraps and extra embellishments from a swap. The wings came as a free gift with Craft Stamper Magazine but all the other stamps are from Kanban. I'm happy that I bought two sets of these Kanban Stamps (this stamp is from a set called Vivienne and the other one I got is called Jasper) because I loved making this and am looking forward to trying out all those new stamps! Yksinkertaisella Linjoilla / Feeling Simple

Heippa! Tässä postauksessa on esillä kaksi CAS-luonnoshaasteisiin tekemääni korttia. Olen tosi innostunut tästä CAS-suuntauksesta tällä hetkellä: on hauskaa mietiskellä, miten kortista saisi mahdollisimman mielenkiintoisen mahdollisimman vähillä lisäyksillä. Toivottavasti tykkäät korteistani ja leppoisaa sunnuntaita sinulle! 

Hi! Here's two cards  that I made yesterday for sketch challenges : the first one is for CAS Colours and Sketches and the second one, with the rooster, for CASE this Sketch. I'm really into CAS at the moment, I like to think about how to make the card interesting without adding too much. I hope you like them! So, the first sketch and my first card:

I've used my favorite solid flower stamp to represent the circles of the sketch. I added couple of butterflies (Kanban Stamps) heat embossed with Ranger's powder that leaves a rough, textured surface. Some stones and a sentiment from Chocolate Baroque. That's that! :) The second sketch and my second card:

I took some liberties with the sketch... I have two sentiments, the other one represents the vertical line in the sketch and well, I can't say my rooster looks a lot like the banner of the sketch! But he looks quite funny in his party hat, don't you think? :) The rooster comes from a set of stamps by Crafty Secrets and the birthday-text is from Kanban. Pastelli Kollaasikortti/ Pastel Greetings

Moikka! Tämän kortin idea lähti Outlawz-sivuston maanantaihaasteesta, jossa piti CASEta (copy and share everything) DT-jäsenen työ, minun ispiraationi takana on Melissa kortillaan, joka löytyy täältä. Osallistun tällä muutamaan muuhunkin haasteeseen. Kukkaleima on Kanbanin, paperit silppulaatikosta, muutama koriste lisänä, näillä mennään. :) Kuvaus näiden vaaleiden värien kanssa oli vähän hankalaa, mutta saa siitä lähes selvää! Leppoisaa viikonlopun aloitusta!

Hiya! The idea for this card came from Monday Challenge at Outlawz: we were asked to CASE a DT card. I chose Melissa with her card here. I just adored her card and wanted to try similar style -I chose a pastel color scheme because I wanted to use some scraps I had lying around. :) The flower stamp is from Kanban and the text, Onnea, is Finnish language for Congratulations. The picture is not perfect -it was quite difficult with a card with so pale colors, in the end the dark background helped a bit. Have a great weekend and thanks for popping by!

Lempileimasin / My Favorite Stamp

Moikka! Tässä DT- korttini uusimpaan Koukussa Kortteihin haasteeseen, jonka aihe on kiva: lempileimasin. Valinta oli toki hirmuisen vaikea, mutta valitsin lopuksi tämän hiirulin: hän on ensinnäkin ylimuikea, ja lisäksi nämä WOJ:n hiiret innostivat minut tarttumaan tusseihin ja Copic-tusseja hommattuani on värittäminen alkanut olla hurjan kivaa. Leimailin muutamia tähtiä Kanbanin setistä ja teskti on Finnstamperilta -kortti on aika simppeli eikä suurempia esittelyjä kaipaa. Ai niin, luonnos on tavallaan vanha Sketch Saturday- luonnos, nauhan paikka vain on eri. Hip hip!

Hiya! This is my DT-card for the newest Hooked On Cards challenge. The topic is a fun one: your favorite stamp. It was really difficult to choose but this mouse won in the end: After seeing some WOJ mice colored with Copics last fall I bought some Copics myself and really started to enjoy coloring. I also love his face, he looks so pleased with himself! My sketch is a modification of a previous sketch from Sketch Saturday, I just changed the place of the ribbon. I added some starts stamped with a Kanban stamp and the text is from Finnstamper. It's Finnish but maybe understandable for English speakers also? Hip hip hurraa! :)
