TIME OUT Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current challenge at TIME OUT Challenges. You still have about one week time to enter our challenge

Easter and/or Spring with the optional technique twist of masking.

In my card I've used a Hero Arts flower bg stamp and colored it in with Zig Clean Color watercolor markers. The sentiment is Finnish for "Happy Easter" and I've heat embossed it on vellum. The card base is embossed with a "zebra" folder. First time I'm using it... Looks lovely I think!

Do enter our challenge if you haven't already: there are great prizes for grabs by STAMPlorations and the DT samples along with the gallery look amazing! Join in the fun!

TIME OUT Reminder!

Hi friends!
If you haven't joined our current challenge at TIME OUT Challenges you still have about one week to join us! We are CASEing a beautiful CAS card by Karen... This is how it looks like:

Beautiful, right! I decided I wanted to go less CAS and came up with this:

I chose a Hero Arts stamp that could be a stencil (or it reminded me of a stencil!) and stamped it with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with white powder twice: once on white card and once on green card, following Karen's color palette. I then "matched" the pattern when putting my card together. Kiitos means Thank You in Finnish. I recently moved house and a lady next door has been really welcoming and helpful -I think I'll buy her some chocolate and attach this simple card to her gift!

I'd really like to see your take on Karen's awesome design at TIME OUT. Please join us!

CASEing Darnell

My card

Darnell's card

Hi friends!
Some time ago Darnell from djkardkreations posted the fantastic card you see above -click here for the direct link to the card in question. For her background Darnell used a "smooshing technique" -she smooshed different colors of ink onto her paper with a small acrylic block before stamping the floral image with black ink. I asked Darnell's permission to CASE her wonderful card and she said yes... So yesterday I took my smallest acrylic block and started smooshing! Well... My smooshing looked TERRIBLE! It was a disaster, believe me. :) I think I should have used pastel colors like Darnell did or use less pressure in my smooshing or something... But anyway, the end result was a mess. I ended up taking my mini ink-blending tool and smooshing 3 colors of ink with that tool instead of the acrylic block. I didn't blend the inks together but just smooshed ink circles onto my paper. The end result is quite pretty I think -I heat embossed the large Hero Arts flower stamp on top of the smooshed bg with black ink and glossy, transparent embossing powder so the card has a lot of shine and texture. The sentiment is Finnish for Best Wishes.

Thank you Darnell for the inspiration! You rocked your smooshed bg! :)

Saying Thanks with Flowers

Hi friends!
Just a quick post to share a simple CAS card I made for a couple of challenges. So nice to have summer holiday and time to craft just for fun!

The flower stamp, colored with Copics and white gel pen, comes from Hero Arts. I added just some silver card and a piece of ribbon to embellish the card. Super simple!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi guys!
My good friend Sandie, a fellow team member at Inkspirational has chosen this theme for the next challenge: Grunge! Sandie makes amazing grunge CAS cards but for me, grunge is very terrifying... Luckily this time the card came together quite easily! If you are unsure how to bring grunge into your crafty projects, check out the challenge blog: there's a very helpful definition of the style. You'll also find inspiring projects from Ink Design Team and our very talented guest designer Ashwini.

My card is created with some STAMPlorations stamps, a small square stamp by Hero Arts, Memento inks and a couple of enamel dots. A very simple one layer. Hope you like! I hope to see you playing along and wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Summer Theme With Optional Twist of Flowers at TIME OUT!

Time for a new TIME OUT Challenge! We have a theme challenge for you: summer with the optional twist of "flowers". Very current, fun and easy, I hope to see you joining us! The challenge blog  is filled with inspiring DT samples -do check them out. Our guest designer this time is the talented Bobby, and her beautiful card is filled with floral summer feeling!

My summer flower comes from Hero Arts -I stamped and colored it one evening last week at Sandie's in London. Sandie had a wonderful Sakura glitter pen in her stash and I used if for highlights in the flower. I must get one of those!! The leaf die cut comes also from Sandie -back at home I gave it some color with blue and green gelato and water. I decided to give this as a birthday card for my MIL -she loves turqouise- so I added femine touches with lace, ribbon, some bling and pretty floral paper.  I hope you like! :)

As always, our winner at  TIME OUT  is invited as guest designer but this time we have a prize too: We are sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and everyone choosing the optional twist "flowers" enters a draw for a 25 $ gift voucher to CAS-ual Fridays store. Amazing, right! I'd definitely twist if I could enter. :) Time to take TIME OUT and craft, friends!

Let Your Light Shine Through...

Hi guys!
I don't have anything new to show you but here's an old card I made in the summer. As you can see it's watermarked to be a House of Cards DT card but I ended up using something else at the time... But this is a quite pretty card too so I thought it was time to post it!

I've embossed the black chandelier with sticky embossing powder and fine, black glitter. The glittery effect is quite effective IRL -the only downside is that you end up having the glitter everywhere. :)  The two different orange papers are home made too -I've sprayed and sponged them with mists. The square piece is mulberry paper and that responded especially well to spraying the mists, the texture of the paper gives a beautiful finish. I should have embossed the sentiment -it looks too pale compared with the shiny, very black chandelier and black ribbon... Well, next time! :) Thanks for popping by and have a lovely rest of the day!

Anything Goes at Addicted to Stamps and More!

Anything Goes, everyone's favorite, that's our theme this week at Addicted to Stamps and More! I decided to practice on my CAS skills since I think that's my weakest style in card making -mainly because I keep adding stuff and there goes the CAS style! :) ATSM has a sister blog, Addicted to CAS, their theme this week is glitter so I decided that glitter is what I need!

I started with masking the square with post-its, sponging the area with two shades of Distress Inks and giving it a mist of Fuzzy Navel Peach Stardust spray. I keep forgetting that I have these sprays and it's a pity -they give a really beautiful shine! After my square was dry I removed the post-its and stamped the Hero Arts chandelier with black Versafine, embossed it with sticky embossing powder and poured black glitter on top of it when the powder was hot. I think the chandelier looks stunning and the glittery effect is amazing but I can also tell you that I had to vacuum my craft-room afterwards... I ended up having the black glitter everywhere! It was also quite difficult to get the excess glitter out of the card although I had used an embossing buddy before starting, just to warn you off if you want to try the technique. :) To finish off the card I stamped the LOTV sentiment with my two DI:s -it's not completely straight but I decided not to mind. I'm trying to learn how to be merciful with small mistakes. :)

I hope I'll see you at ATSM Anything Goes Challenge! As always, there's plenty of DT inspiration  in the challenge blog and you'll find all the challenge rules and details there too. MelonHeadz sponsors the challenge. Happy crafting!

Rustic vs. Shiny!

Hiya!
Two cards two show you this evening, they differ quite a lot from each other. The first card, with stamped dragonflies and chipboard butterflies, is for C.R.A.F.T. Challenge, I've followed their recipe of 2 squares (well, my base card is also a square but I hope the base doesn't count!), one circle, one sentiment and use ribbon. My dragonflies come from Impression Obsession and the text is Chocolate Baroque's. I've created the colors myself with Stardust mists -the shine of the card is beautiful IRL. The paper is mulberry paper so it has a pretty texture too.

My second card is for CAS-ual Fridays where the theme is to use silver. I've stamped my Hero Arts chandelier with silver Embrace Ink and embossed with clear powder. There's more silver in the glittery matting card. I embellished with small half pearls, they have a slight purple tone in them, quite pretty actually! Hip hip hurraa is "hip hip hurrah" in Finnish -pretty close to English. :)

That's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with my DT card for the new Addicted To Stamps And More Challenge, we are going to have a great theme, I hope you'll come and check it out! Thanks for popping by.

Heissun hei,

Welcome Friday, welcome weekend, jabadabaduu! I'm going to celebrate this weekend, my good friend has her bachelorette party, will be fun! Today's card is also really festive. The chandelier is from Hero Arts, papers are from DCWV and unfortunately I can't remember the maker of the sentiment stamp. I'm happy that I for once found places for many embellishments in my card, I think the rich and blingy look goes well with the ornamental paper that has a slight oriental feel to it. I will take part in following challenges:
