If Music be the food of love, Play on!

Hi everyone!
We have a new fun challenge for you at TIME OUT Challenges. It's time for Inspired by Words again and here is the sentiment: "If Music be the food of love, Play on". My DT card focuses on the word "music" and is a vintage inspired CAS card. The script background is made with a stencil and the stamp is by Chocolate Baroque. The Finnish sentiment comes from Vilda Stamps. Some sponging, pearls and lace... Sweet and simple. The placement of the ribbon is not my favorite thing about this card but it hides an ink smudge... :)

Photo Inkspiration at Inkspirational Challenges!

Hi guys!
Time flies... Another fortnight has gone by and it's time for a new challenge at Inkspirational Challenges: a very fun inspiration photo! I  had to settle for a quick-make this time but it ended up being a quite cute card. I created the background with neon colored washi tape and heat embossed the floral image with white powder on top of the washi -I wanted to experiment if this would work and it did -no fire or anything! ;) My starting points were obviously the neon colors but also friendship (those sheep look like a friendly bunch!) and nature. Gold Rush... And a DT Call Reminder

When Sandie pointed out there's a Doilies Challenge at Crazy for CAS I knew I had to play along -I love doilies! I decided to use a special one for the challenge... Yep, a golden doily! To make things all golden I heat embossed my sentiment (Chocolate Baroque) and butterflies (Marianne Designs) with gold powder. The card has a lot of dimension and texture, I quite like it!

I'd also want to remind you that that the DT Call at TIME OUT Challenges closes tonight at midnight (GMT). Still about 15 hours to go! :)

Anything Inkspirational Goes!

Hi guys!
It's time for the new and improved Inkspirational Challenge! I told you last week that on Saturday the 12th of October we will begin our bi-weekly challenge rota and here we are, the day has come! :) We start with a nice and easy theme: Anything Goes. There's a fantastic Christmas-themed craft supplies set for crabs -click your way to the challenge blog to find out all about it. There's fabulous DT inspiration for you too.

In my DT card I used a beautiful stamp from Chocolate Baroque. It's a bit weird choice considering the current season but the stamp popped to my mind after seeing Shery's fab sketch at Stamplorations. The papers I used are really lovely too, they are from Little Darlings and I once won them in Emily's blog candy. Some of you might think what the doily is doing there, lurking behind the image... But I have a serious addiction to doilies! I'm telling you, the only way I won't add a doily to my card is to decide that I'll make a pure CAS card. :) Anyways... My coloring is done with Copics and "Kiitos" is Finnish for Thank You. Kiitos for visiting my blog and I hope to see you all joining our Anything Goes Challenge!

Tänään näytille kolmas Tekniikkakympin kortti, tätä tekniikkaa olen käyttänyt ennenkin joten oli vähän helpompi haaste tämä -tappelen esim. yhä sen "ressatun akryylimaali"-haasteen kanssa -ilmeisesti monille muillekin juuri se tuottaa vaikeuksia! Tämän kortin keskiössä on elegantti nainen (Craft Stamper kylkiäisenä tullut leimasin), kiemuraleimailut on Stampendousin kiemuroita, setti hommattu Tiimarin alelaarista. Teksti Chocolate Baroquen. Olen ihan tyytyväinen ideaani käyttää päällimmäisessä kerroksessa valkeaa kartonkia ja välikerroksissa tuota ruskeaa, joka pääsi myös rouvani hattuun. :) Alun perin minulla oli kukka myös oikeassa alakulmassa, mutta otin sen lopulta pois -yksi tuntui riittävän!

We are enjoying of April showers here -I love the rain, it makes the snow melt faster!
My card is for the "TechniqueTen" at Finnish card making site Koukussa Kortteihin, this is the third card of ten cards total. I was familiar with this technique, triple stamping, before, I really like the effect and am quite pleased with this particular card if I may say so myself! The elegant lady is a Rogue Redhead Designs stamp, the swirls are from Stampendous and the sentiment is from a Chocolate Baroque set. I paper pieced my lady's hat with the same brown paper I used in my middle layers. If you want to see all my "TechniqueTen"-cards, they are labeled as "Tekniikkakymppi/TechniqueTen. Tämän kortin kuva on ollut luonnoksissani jo iät ja ajat, suunnittelin tätä miespuoliselle työkaverille, mutta lopulta kortista ei tullutkaan kovin maskuliininen. Kauniita unia kaverit ja palataan tähän bloglovin-asiaan tuonnempana...

just a super quick post, I needed something to post for claiming my blog for Bloglovin -let's see if I was able to do it and let's talk more about it later. :) This card was originally intended for my male colleague at work but in the end it wasn't masculine enough... It was fun to make anyway! Good night for now!

Rustic vs. Shiny!

Two cards two show you this evening, they differ quite a lot from each other. The first card, with stamped dragonflies and chipboard butterflies, is for C.R.A.F.T. Challenge, I've followed their recipe of 2 squares (well, my base card is also a square but I hope the base doesn't count!), one circle, one sentiment and use ribbon. My dragonflies come from Impression Obsession and the text is Chocolate Baroque's. I've created the colors myself with Stardust mists -the shine of the card is beautiful IRL. The paper is mulberry paper so it has a pretty texture too. 

My second card is for CAS-ual Fridays where the theme is to use silver. I've stamped my Hero Arts chandelier with silver Embrace Ink and embossed with clear powder. There's more silver in the glittery matting card. I embellished with small half pearls, they have a slight purple tone in them, quite pretty actually! Hip hip hurraa is "hip hip hurrah" in Finnish -pretty close to English. :)

toivottavasti suomen kieltä etsivät rullasivat sivun tänne tarpeeksi alas! Muutaman kortin tein eilen yömyöhällä, haastekortteja totta kai, addikti mikä addikti. :) Ensimmäisessä kortissa olen luonnut kuviopaperit itse: pohjana on mulperipaperi, päälle on suihkittu Stardust-misteillä ja leimattu Inpression Obsessionin taustaleimasimella sudenkorentoja. Teksti on Chocolate Baroquen ja siivekkään tyylin viimeistelin chipboard-perhosilla. Toinen kortti on enemmän CAS-linjoilla: leimasin Heron kynttiläkruunun hopealle Embrace musteella ja embossasin värittömällä jauheella. Hiukan kauniin liilan sävyisiä puolihelmiä ja teksti, siinä se! Toivottavasti tykkäät ja kiitos kun käväisit, mukavaa viikon jatkoa sinulle!

Digi Sketch Challenge #2!

Aika uuden Digi Sketch haasteen! Tämän kertaisen luonnoksen näet tuolla käännöksen jälkeen ja teemana on "Dear Friend". Osallistuaksesi haasteeseemme voit käyttää joko luonnosta, tehdä ystävyys-aiheisen kortin tai käyttää molempia, kolme eri vaihtoehtoa siis. :)  Sponsorimme on upea Bugaboo Stamps, voittaja saa valita 7 digikuvaa, minä ainakin olen ihan lovena Bugaboon kuviin! Design Teamimme sai valita Bugaboolta haluamansa kuvat, käythän haasteblogin sivuilla kurkkaamassa, miten hauskoja ja hienoja kortteja syntyi. Itse ihastuin tähän kukkaiskuvaan, saatavana täällä, koristelin kuvaani vain hieman puolihelmillä, huippuhelppo kortti. Alareunoihin olen embossannut Chocolate Baroquen kauniit kulma-ornamentit ja tuon stanssatun kiekuran olen saanut joskus salaisissa toiveissa Koukussa Kortteihin-sivustolla. Haaste kestää 2 viikkoa eli 10.3. asti, toivottavasti tulet mukaan, askartelun iloa!

Time for new Digi Sketch Challenge, yay! The sketch for our second challenge is below this text and the theme is "Dear Friend". To enter the challenge your choices are to follow the sketch, the theme, or both -3 different possibilities! Yksinkertaisella Linjoilla / Feeling Simple

Heippa! Tässä postauksessa on esillä kaksi CAS-luonnoshaasteisiin tekemääni korttia. Olen tosi innostunut tästä CAS-suuntauksesta tällä hetkellä: on hauskaa mietiskellä, miten kortista saisi mahdollisimman mielenkiintoisen mahdollisimman vähillä lisäyksillä. Toivottavasti tykkäät korteistani ja leppoisaa sunnuntaita sinulle! 

Hi! Here's two cards  that I made yesterday for sketch challenges : the first one is for CAS Colours and Sketches and the second one, with the rooster, for CASE this Sketch. I'm really into CAS at the moment, I like to think about how to make the card interesting without adding too much. I hope you like them! So, the first sketch and my first card:

I've used my favorite solid flower stamp to represent the circles of the sketch. I added couple of butterflies (Kanban Stamps) heat embossed with Ranger's powder that leaves a rough, textured surface. Some stones and a sentiment from Chocolate Baroque. That's that! :) The second sketch and my second card:

I took some liberties with the sketch... I have two sentiments, the other one represents the vertical line in the sketch and well, I can't say my rooster looks a lot like the banner of the sketch! But he looks quite funny in his party hat, don't you think? :) The rooster comes from a set of stamps by Crafty Secrets and the birthday-text is from Kanban. Musiikkia! / Less Is More - Music

yllä oleva korttini on Less Is More haasteen one layer-viikon työ... Aiheena on musiikki. Tuo suoraan korttipohjaan tekeminen on minulle toistaiseksi aika haastavaa ja hermoja raastavaa, mutta haluan oppia joten osallistun haasteisiin minkä kerkiän. :)  Tämä on yksi kolmesta eri yrityksestä ja tästäkin muistaakseni neljäs versio! Leimailujälki ja asettelu tuntuu olevan mielettömän tärkeä homma tällaisessa yksinkertaisessa kortissa -sutut eivät tule kysymykseen ja vinot tekstitkään ei näytä kovin kivoilta! Tällä kuitenkin mennään -ja muuten riskillä, sillä liimasin kolme koristetta -taitaa mennä ohi sääntöjen. Ups. Mutta tulipahan harjoiteltua!

above is my card for the one layer week at Less Is More. I've been practicing my CAS skills for several months now but I'm still quite new to one layers -if the LIM designers/other people with CAS-wisdom  pop by here, could you tell me if I've over-embellished the card with my three blings? In the rules it says "minimal embellishing" and I of course agree to that, but those swirls around the violin were screaming for something! :) I think these one layer cards are pretty demanding -stamping has to be smudge-free, sentiment straight, positioning of the elements just perfect... When the look is simple, all the "faults" are easy to notice. This was my 4th attempt on this card design -I tried 3 different kinds with different stamps but this is the only one I wanted to post! lol. Oh well, I anyways enjoyed this "CAS exercising" a lot. :) Thanks for popping by!

Sinistä/ Feeling Blue

En ole muuutamaan viikkoon ehtinyt osallistua CAS Colours and Sketches haasteeseen, nyt ehdin mukaan, jee! Tällä kertaa tarjolla oli sekä luonnos, että värit, ihan eivät siniseni täsmää annettuihin väreihin, mutta on ainakin kolme eri sävyä. :) Embossasin gramofonin valkoisella, koristeena kukat, ei kummempia, leima on ihanasta Chocolate Baroquen setistä. Mukavaa viikonlopun jatkoa!

It's been a couple of weeks that I haven't had a chance to play along at CAS Colours and Sketches -now I had time and it was twice as fun since they provided both colors and a sketch!  There's place for text in the left down corner -I'll stamp it when I know who gets this and for what. :) The gramophone is embossed with white embossing powder, the image is from a set of lovely music themed Chocolate Baroque stamps, I'm using it first time here. Have a nice rest of the weekend!

Ystävyys Antaa Siivet / Friendship Gives Wings...

Oi kun olen nauttinut kortteilusta tänään ja eilen -oli niin helpotus saada Sinellin kisatyöt valmiiksi parin  viikon pähkäilyn päätteeksi. :) Tämä korttini on tehty muutamaa haastetta silmällä pitäen, haasteet näet käännöksen lopussa. Ispiksen tähän korttiin tarjosi Niinu kortillaan täällä, kiitos Niinu! Hoksasin omistavani saman tyyppisen leimasimen ja siitä se sitten lähti. Tytön siivet ovat todellisuudessa kankaisia lehtiä ja kukkiin laitoin kultaista Sticklesiä. Oikein ihanaa viikonloppua kaikille ja kiitos kauniista, kannustavista kommenteistanne, joita minulle ahkerasti jätätte!

I want to tell you how much I've enjoyed card making yesterday and today after finishing my cards for the 2nd round of Sinelli DT Competition... Tons of creative space from my brain became unoccupied. :) I made this card for couple of challenges, please check the list under this text. I was inspired by Niinu and her card here. I realized I had a similar stamp and off I went stamping, thanks Niinu! The wings I've attached for my girl are actually fabric leaves but they look a bit like wings, don't they? I also added some golden Stickels to the flowers. Have a very nice weekend and I want to thank all of you who so often make my day with your lovely, supportive comments. "See" you soon again! :)
