Happy Day

Hi friends!
I'm sharing a card I made for a couple of challenges in mind.

Crafty Individuals has a Face Value Challenge. It's just closing but I'm happy I had time to make a card with this gorgeous Crafty Individuals lady! I created a fun headpiece for her using a Penny Black die (this is actually a leaf) and some sequins and rhinestones. I colored the pretty lady with Copics and added Wink of Stella glitter brush pen to the background.

Mod Squad Challenge is Anything Goes with dies  so I'll enter this simple CAS card there too. The sponsor is OneHappyCut.com -they have awesome dies, wish me luck! :)

New Challenge at TIME OUT!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at TIME OUT Challenges! We want you to be inspired of the fun photo you see above. I was inspired of "blocks of color" and the overall color scheme. I've used a PTI stamp for the background and stamped an Altenew flower on top of it. I colored half of the flower with Copics and added some Wink of Stella on it too. My card is a very simple one layer but it did take some time for me to find it's form -this was my second attempt, the first want went to the bin and there was a lot of head scratching happening in the middle of the versions! :)

I hope I've been able to inspire you to take part in our challenge. Please see what the rest of the design team and guest designer Sue from Foleysfriend have made by clicking here. You'll have a fortnight to play along. Take some TIME OUT and craft! ;)

I'd like to enter these challenges:

Reminder card for the current TIME OUT Challenge!

Hi friends!

Just a quick post to remind you of our current challenge at TIME OUT where we are CASEing Deepti from Dee's Art Utopia. Please click here for all the details -there's a prize to be won too! :)

Here's Deepti's card:

I chose to be inspired of the floral theme, Deepti's use of black color + the layout of the card. My own twist is that this is a one layer! :) Hope you like!

Stamps by STAMPlorations (the sentiments, the set is called Trendy Butterflies) and W+9 (thank you dear Milla for borrowing these to me!)

Hi guys!
We have a new challenge for you at One Layer Christmas Cards. The challenge post is filled with inspirational one layer DT cards... Don't miss it! Our challenges are always anything one layer X mas goes but if you want a chance in the prize draw, don't forget the optional twist!

I made my card using a stamp by STAMPlorations: Christmas Flower. I stamped it with Memento and colored it with Copics. The background is made with two shades of brown Distress Inks. Sentiment is Finnish for "Peaceful Christmas".

I hope you like and see you at One Layer Christmas Cards!

Happy Birthday Sandie!!

Hi friends...
...and one friend especially! Happy birthday my dear Sandie -not only a fun blogger buddy but a great, great friend in real life too! We'll meet again in just about a month -I'm visiting Sandie in London for the second time. That's not all -Sandie and her husband Callum will spend the next Christmas in Finland at my place! So as you see guys... Sandie is a GOOD friend. Always there for me, helping me during difficult times... And always available for more lighter, crafty chats as well! I hope you'll all join Sandie's Birthday linky party here . If you don't know Sandie yet, please visit her blog London Days : you'll be very inspired of her CAS designs.

My card photo is awful but I couldn't re-do it -the card was already on it's way towards London! IRL the card is quite pretty: I've made a clean and simple design using a large flower stencil with inks and Wink of Stella. The sentiment is heat embossed and the designer paper has a lovely ombre look. Fingers crossed the postman has done his job and Sandie has received her card on time!

Happy Birthday Sandie! Love you. xxx

New Challenge at TIME OUT!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at TIME OUT! It's

Grunge with the optional twist of Embossing

You can use any kind of embossing that you want.

What does 'Grunge' mean for us papercrafters??

Grunge is characterized by distressed, worn-out elements and the use of subtle
or earthy colours. Think torn edges, textured backgrounds, 'dirty' appearance, splatters, stains, even hand-drawn lines. That said, grunge doesn't always mean
"dirty" or subdued colours. A card can have subtle grunge elements in light or soft ink
and yet still look clean and simple. Just think of grunge as the
opposite of "polished".

We are sponsored by STAMPlorations:

There's two 10 $ coupons on offer.

This time our Guest Designer is Ksenija. I hope you'll check out her project and the cards of our regular DT members from the challenge blog

In my card I've used stamps by STAMPlorations:

My card consists of simple stamping, a strip of designer paper and some twine. Hope you like and see you at  TIME OUT!

New Challenge at One Layer Christmas Card Challenges!

Hi guys!
Yesterday I returned to blogland after a two months break and today I'm here again! :) Above is my DT card for One Layer Christmas Card Challenge 9 which has just begun. Our challenges are anything one layer goes, but if you want to have a chance to win a prize, do use the twist: Angels. Plenty of DT inspiration in the challenge blog!

I went through my Christmas stamps and found 2 stamps with angels... But when I tried to make a card with them the results were not pretty! I decided to abandon the twist then and took out one of my favorite sets from last Christmas. My card is super simple: some two-tone stamping, little inking on the edges, a Finnish Christmas sentiment and Wink of Stella on all the leaves.

Please click here for all the challenge details and prize info. I hope to see you playing along!

CAS at TIME OUT!

Hi friends!
I haven't made DT cards lately due to work issues but I'm popping by to share a quick card that works as a DT card for the current TIME OUT Challenges

CAS with optional twist of Black and white with a splash of one colour

If you choose the twist you could win a

$20 gift voucher to  CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

For DT inspiration from our DT members and guest designer Susanne, please click here.

My card is very simple: just a big Stampendous flower colored in with Copic's, matted on kraft card and attached to a card base. Marika gave me the idea for how to color this flower: this was my first attempt on this kind of coloring and the blending is definitely not perfect but I'm happy with some of the petals. :) Äidille is Finnish for "For Mum".

I hope to see you playing along at  TIME OUT Challenges!

She Art at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new, very interesting challenge for you at Inkspirational: She Art. Here's some more info about the challenge:

"If you’re not familiar with She Art it’s worth doing a Google Image search – some fabulous artwork out there. However, as we want to encourage people with different styles, we welcome a wide interpretation of the theme -  maybe an element of She Art eg. an uplifting sentiment or mixed media background  or just any female image in your design. "

As always the Inks DT hasn't failed in providing fantastic inspiration. Please click here for all the DT cards, I'm sure you'll love them!

In my card I've used a die-cut silhouette of a girl I've once won from some challenge. I've made it a bit more interesting with heat embossing STAMPlorations Distressed Floral Swirls onto it. The sentiment is from a set called TYPOGRAFIA: Encouragement. The bg is simply sponged with some distress inks. Hope you like!

For Mum

Hi friends!
Here's a CAS card I made using a rose stamp from a new STAMPlorations set Blossom Overture and a Finnsih sentiment stamp "for mum". The flower is colored with Copics and the sentiment is heat embossed with white powder. I added some wink of stella to the leaves of the flower but the camera didn't catch it. I hope you like!

Altenew Flower with Copics

Hi guys!
My good crafty friend Marika was here on Monday and shared me some of her coloring wisdom with colored pencils. It was great fun to color in with someone and I learned a lot from Marika who is super super talented. If you don't know her blog, click here. Marika hinted me of Altenew Monthly Challenges and this card is my entry for the March Challenge. I don't have colored pencils in my own stash so this flower is colored in with my beloved Copics... How I've missed them! I realized I haven't colored in since Christmas Holidays... Now that I'm on my "time out" from my DT:s because of work I think when I'll get to craft... Coloring in is what I'll do! :)

I was inspired by two of the photos in Altenew March Challenge:

IMG_20150203_193035
This photo inspired me to use this floral image and helped me to choose colors
IMG_20150203_192405
And this photo gave me the idea to use my embossing folder with "ornament background"

I hope you like my simple card and thanks for popping by!

Rock Around the Clock at TIME OUT!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at TIME OUT Challenges.
We are

Inspired by Words

"Rock Around the Clock"

You can be inspired by the whole phrase or choose just one words/some words for your starting point.

Our guest designer this time is Hazel from Hazel's Paper Designs and I just love her fun wine-themed CAS card. Don't forget to check out her project and all the other inspirational DT cards!

My card is a very CAS one layer I made for the lovely Sandie. She likes purple and I do think she was happy with her card! I used some clock-themed stamps I borrowed from another crafty friend, Milla, along with butterfly- and sentiment-stamps from Trendy Butterflies by STAMPlorations. Hope you like!

I'm looking forward seeing your interpretations of "Rock Around the Clock "!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
Happy Valentine's Day! In Finland this day is not only for lovers but for friends too... So the theme of this card is most suitable for today!

We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational: a photo inspiration with such beautiful image. You could go for Japanese theme, the colors, flowers... You name it!  Our guest designer this time is Darnell: I hope you are familiar with her amazingly entertaining blog full of inspiration and even challenges! I hope you'll pop by at Darnell's and leave her some love. The Inkspirational DT is also showing their best work as always... So don't forget to check out the challenge blog!

I chose to use some Japanese style stamps I have for this card. I've heat embossed the image and sentiment with white powder. The embossing folder tries to mimic the look of the flowery branches although it is something completely different. :) I went really CAS with this one and stuck with monochrome color scheme. Hope you like and see you at Inkspirational!

New Challenge at One Layer Christmas Cards!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at One Layer Christmas Cards! Click here for all the challenge details and inspirational DT projects! We continue with our Anything One Layer Christmas Goes... But this time the optional twist is gold. If you choose to twist you have a chance to win prizes so don't hesitate in digging out your gold supplies! :)

My DT card is sort of vintagey. I sponged 4 shades of brown DI:s to my card base and gave it a spritz of water for extra distressing. After that was dry I heat embossed the Christmassy Stampendous stamp with gold powder and was satisfied with the card -I think it didn't need a sentiment or anything. What do you think, too plain or all right? :) Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you playing along at One Layer Christmas Cards! Click here!

January Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Hi friends!
During Christmas hols I had time to browse blogs all over blogland: something I haven't done much before the hols or after either... If you wonder why you don't receive comments from me lately it's due to lack of time and lack of energy -so much to do, so little time! Anyways, I found a blog called Society of Stampaholics where blog owner Deborah organizes Card Chain Challenges: after signing up and making your card you actually SEND it to another participant and also receive one yourself. A very nice, a little bit different challenge. I believe Deborah is revealing all the cards sent and received in her blog today so maybe you'll want to head on over and see what everyone made!

My card is a simple tag card. The color palette is chosen from the challenge. I used a stencil for water stamping the bg (the tag was first sponged with DI:s) and colored the Altenew flower with Copics. The swirl and the sentiment come from the same stamp set.

Thanks Deborah for this cool challenge! Have a nice day everyone and see you later today with a new DT card for STAMPlorations.

New Challenge at TIME OUT Challenges!

Hi guys!
We have a new challenge for you at TIME OUT:

Valentine's Day With Optional Twist of Hearts

STAMPlorations sponsors us with two amazing prizes, both randomly drawn: either use hearts in your project or leave a comment at special TIME OUT post at STAMPlorations here. There you'll find lots of inspiration from the STAMPlorations team and our own challenge blog is filled with beautiful cards from TIME OUT DT and talented guest designer Valentyna: Don't forget to check out all the wonderful projects!

In my card I've used a new STAMPlorations set called Sentiment Builder: Love which is part of the new January release. We have a fun blog hop for you at STAMPlorations next week, do join us! :)

I have heat embossed the sentiment on vellum and shaded the heart with a Copic marker and Wink of Stella glitter pen. My bg is dry embossed with Simon Says Stamp falling hearts stencil: I've used it as an embossing folder with my Cuttlebug. The hearts are almost impossible to see in the photo but they are there. :)

I hope to see you all playing along at TIME OUT!

New Challenge at One Layer Christmas Cards!

Hi guys!
Thank you everyone who played along in our first ever challenge at One Layer Christmas Cards. We have just begun with a new challenge and it is Anything Goes with the optional twist of snowflakes. Our challenges are always anything goes but if you use the twist you'll have a chance to win a prize in our monthly prize drawing. I hope to see you playing along!

I've made my DT card using a snowflake stencil and sponging two shades of blue DI:s. The Christmas sentiment (in Finnish) is just simply stamped this time although now when I look at it, I could have heat embossed it... Well, this will do! :) The stencil was very intricate and I had to make few tries before getting it right: it had to be glued down with temporary glue dots (I have these super small ones from Letratec, very easy to use) to make it work. I do love the final look though! Please click here for more DT inspiration. You'll have a fortnight to play along. See you at One Layer Christmas Cards!

I'd like to enter:

Darnell's NBUS Challenge 3

"Ombre" at Inkspirational!

HI friends!
Here's my DT card for the current Inkspirational Challenge: Ombre. The challenge was chosen by the talented DT member Pia. I'd love you to take a look how our DT members created their ombre looks so do head on our to our challenge blog! In case you are not familiar with the concept of ombre, here's a clarification:

"Ombré is when the colour is graduated in tone eg. a colour that fades from dark grey to light grey."

I chose to work with blues in my card. The center panel is first sponged with 3 shades of blue DI:s and then water stamped with a Simon Says Stamp stencil. The flowers (Altenew) are colored in with Copics. The sentiment is from the same set.

I  hope you'll join me, the DT and our guest designer Deepti in this fun challenge!

First Ever One Layer Christmas Cards Challenge!

Looking for my CASology GD card? Scroll down or click here.

Hi friends!
This is already my second post for today... Busy day at Runaway Cards! :)

You might have noticed the new DT badge on my sidebar: I'm very happy to be part of the design team of a new challenge blog called One Layer Christmas Card Challenge! We have 2 challenges for you every month. The challenges are always anything goes with an optional twist -this time it's "red". If you follow the twist you have a chance to win a prize that's drawn once a month!

I created the ornament in my card by first sponging pink ink through a die cut aperture. I then placed a Simon Says Stencil on top of the sponged ornament (my die cut mask still in place) and stenciled flowers with darker red ink. The string and bow are stamped with stamps by Papertery Ink... And the sentiment (heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum) comes from STAMPlorations set Christmas Flower. Several of One Layer Christmas DT girls used this flower in their cards by the way, don't forget to check them out here! I'm very excited to be in this new design team with all these talented ladies. I hope to see you joining us and playing along!

I'd like to join these challenges:

Guest Designing at CASology!

Näytetään Week 128 - Date.jpg

Hi guys!
I'm very honored to guest design at CASology today. CASology is one of the coolest challenge blogs around and I can't believe I won there a couple of weeks ago. Thank you so much Melissa for inviting me to join this week's challenge and Happy 2015 to everyone in CASology design team!

I wanted to have a go with stenciling in my card. I used a bold patterned Simon Says Stamp stencil I hadn't had a chance to use yet -my goal was to try to make the big patterns work in my CAS design. I figured that if I use the patterns sparingly and stick to a simple color palette I might make it work!

I die cut the tag out of a bigger piece of card I had previously sponged with 3 red inks (combo of DI:s and Mementos) and water stamped with the same stencil. That turned out nice! The silhouette stamp in my card is from the Ever After set by STAMPlorations and the sentiment is from a PTI set.

In the card base I masked a strip from the edge and sponged the stenciled design with black Memento ink. The tag is attached with 3d foam stickers for dimension. I only added a piece of ribbon to keep the embellies at minimum.

I hope you think I succeeded in making the bold patterns work for CAS... And I can't wait to see the different interpretations on the DATE- cue card! Thanks again Melissa and CASology DT for having me!
