On Ringo Lake Part 4

Life just zooms by - especially at this time of year.
I think I am going to be impatient for the next clue, but then before I know it, Friday is here.

I enjoyed working with the blues and browns this week.
I was getting tired of the peachy colors.  :)
I am not done, of course, but I have most cut out and a lot of units sewn together.

To see units made by others, go to Bonnie Hunters blog here.

Part of the title of my blog is Tea.
I love going to afternoon tea, or other opportunities to join other women for a fancy tea party.
A high school friend of mine invited me to the annual Christmas tea at her church.
Each table has a hostess, and they each decorate it themselves.
Her daughter decorated hers.  Isn't this pretty?

I hope everybody is enjoying this season and is taking time to think about the
reason why we have Christmas.
Christ came as a helpless baby and ended up dying a horrible death so that
we can be in relationship with God our Creator.
I am so glad that He did that, and that He rose from the dead at the Resurrection.
I don't mention my faith much in my blog since it has been more geared towards quilting,
but I felt in my heart I needed to do that today.

On Ringo Lake Mystery - Part 3

Winter hit MN over the past couple of weeks,
and I am sitting at my sewing table (card table!) with cold toes.
But I am also feeling content with the piecing I did today and over the past week.
I mostly worked on Week 2 units, but made a few of Week 3.

Ringo Lake Part 3 used more of the coral/melon and neutrals.
I am definitely going to have to go to the 1/2 price fabric store and find more!

Here are this weeks units:

I haven't done much quilting the past couple of years.
I struggle with a lot of knee pain, and also life has just been overwhelming.
These mystery quilts are something that I never thought I would enjoy.
However, I love the scrappiness.
I am not wild about how many units need to be made each week, but I keep plugging away.

A year ago, I was on my first 'real' vacation in many years.
I visited St. Thomas on a cruise.
It is hard to believe the devastation that happened there since then.
I pray for the people often, and am grateful I was able to visit, even if for just a day.

I am linking up with Bonnie's Linky Party for On Ringo Lake.
Please go here to see everybody's progress!

Blessed Quilting,
Karen

On Ringo Lake Mystery - Week 2

When I saw the clue for week 2, I was bummed.  I really don't like making flying geese.
But I am committed to this process, and decided to use the
ruler I have that helps make no-waste geese.

I was merrily cutting the smaller pieces out of neutrals,
when all of a sudden I realized I sliced my left index finger.
Oh so much blood!  But none on the fabric.  :)
I could see it went into the nail area, so decided I needed to go to Urgent Care.

I have a newer job, with different insurance.  It took driving to 3 different places
(#1 was permanently closed, and #2 said I needed an ER)
and about 45 miles to be told at the last place I went to that it just needed glue.
I was not happy (on the inside), but kept smiling and took the gluing of my cut and a
tetanus shot like a champ.  Altogether I was gone almost 4 hours.

Then I came home and cut out more.
I just wish I could have done some sewing together of all these lovely pieces!

Here you see 150 coral triangles and 300 neutral side triangles.
Once I have these sewn together, I will cut out more.
I am determined not to cut too many this time!!

Please go to Bonnie's link-up party here and check out everybody else's progress.

I plan to post again once I have these sewn together.

Blessed Sewing,
Karen
