Prom

I had a lot of fun making this layout. I wanted to add a little elegance and a lot of playfulness which describes Mitch and his girlfriend Meredith so much.  I embossed a lovely, light blue and white paper with a gorgeous embossing folder and then rubbed a darker ink all over it to bring out the embossing. It is meant to go with the flowers in the gorgeous dress. I also used the yellow background for that purpose. I added the black borders to go with Mitch's suit!! I am entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes challenge--love those!!!!! I am also entering it in my friend Stacy's tic tac toe challenge: mist, alphas and buttons....

Thanks for visiting!

Easter 1999

Sketch1_stars_042709

Even though we are extremely busy right now with trying to sell our house and ending up Mitchell's senior year, I felt an urge to participate in some of the challenges for NSD. I made this layout using all Jillibean Soup patterned paper--no cardstock.  I used Jillibean's sketch and am entering it in their challenge as well as Frosted Designs challenge to use only patterned paper....

Mitch was almost five years old in these photos. It is hard to believe he will be graduating from high school in two weeks!

Thanks for looking.

circa 1988 or so...

This layout is so much prettier in person. It is one of my favorite layouts to date.  I used a sheet of the most gorgeous Authentique paper (the wood grain and the blue flowered) that I got from The Paper Bakery.  I'm entering at it Simons Says...Anything Goes... I really do wish you could see this in person! Maybe one day I will learn how to take good photos....

Thanks for looking and I hope you are having a great day!!!!!

Father's Day Card - Masculine Bicycle

This Week\

I made this card using CPS Card Sketch 220.  I flipped it, but I thought it worked nicely with the elements!   I am entering it in Simon Says ,,,,, Father's Day / For a Male challenge! I thought it turned out rather well.  The stamps and buttons are some newer ones from CTMH. The paper under the bicycle image is Tim Holtz. The ribbon is Cosmo Cricket. I don't know where the clock came from, but I got it from Melissa O'Neill a while back. And, the  center of flower in the middle of the clock is from Graphic 45  from my friend Stacy.  It is also for her challenge.

Memphis, Zoo

This is what I do when I have a lot of photos to scrap. I just pile them on and add a couple of accents--in this case a bunch of buttons, flowers and a big dotted brad! That big yellow chipboard flower has Jenni Bowlin paint on it, and it has been stamped with a background stamp from CTMH in an aqua pigment ink from SEI. The paper is Crate Paper.

Thanks for visiting. I won't be posting much in the next few days as my husband (and I) are getting ready for a big art show--Art in the Park in Columbia, Missouri, June 4-5, 2011.  It's a fantastic show. If you are in the area, please stop by and say Hi! :-)

School Days - 1997

It seems like just yesterday that these pictures were taken. I made this for one of the Sketches 4 All challenges recently! Most of the paper I got from my friend Stacy, but the wooden letters came from my friend Mel. I shared links in my last scrapbook layout post!  The stickers were from Fia (Sketches 4 All owner) and the eyelet ribbon was from Cindy from there! so, thanks to everyone who contributed to this layout! :-)
