Kayaks

I made this for PageMaps anniversary challenge:  Paper Mixology!  And, boy did I ever mix up the collections.  I used papers from several older collections:  Recess, Two Scoops, Archaic, Kioshi, Nook & Pantry and some basics...  I did some embossing on the buttery paper--chevron type arrows. Looks so much nicer in person, but all of mine do....

Thanks for looking!

Campus Visit

Here's a layout I made using mostly Echo Park Times & Seasons. I added some vintage buttons, some arrow from CTMH, a vinyl clock that was in my stash and a pretty doily. I got the doily and Times & Seasons pack from Rebecca. Thanks, Rebecca!! She does amazing work also if you'd care to go visit her.  Anyway, I'm entering this layout into Simon Says Anything Goes--my favorite challenge hands down! :-)

Thanks for visiting!

Freedom

I made this card for Memorial Day and for a couple of challenges: my friend Stacy's and
Simon Says Stamp Presents a Star Challenge! over at Lily Pad Cards and Simon Says Stamp and Show a summer holiday. You could say this would work as a Memorial Day card and a Fourth of July card. I used a PageMaps sketch... I took it pretty literally!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are enjoying the Memorial Day weekend and remember our fallen soldiers and their families with a prayer.

Prom 2012 - The first Page of Many

Well, I'm really excited to be scrapping again! This layout took on its own personality as it was not what I envisioned in my head for it at all. I loved the green Basic Grey sheet, and it was kind of by accident that I tried the black with it. I think it kind of balances the masculine with the feminine very well. I started out with Girl Land that Webster's Pages just sent me and it didn't want to come together.  However, I did use the beautiful flower, ribbon, word stickers and letters from it.  I'll just have to wait until the perfect photos come before I can cut into or use the beautiful papers from Girl Land.

Mitch decided to rent a tux for this year's prom since it was for senior year.  I thought his lovely girlfriend, Emily, looked like a Greek goddess in this dress!

I used The Paper Variety's wonderful sketch for this layout!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you have time to leave a comment to let me know if anyone is still looking at my pages!!

Love Me Do -- Love Birds Walking on the Beach in California

Here's one of Steve and me walking along the ocean! I used a sketch from Sweet Peach Crop Shop which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it! Everything except the twine, red ink, and adhesive is My Mind's Eye "Love Me Do" collection. You should see the goofy look on my face in the first one!

Thanks for visiting!
Have a great day!

Snow days

I made another Echo Park layout! This time it is for The Last April Sketch hosted by Sweet Peach Crop Shop! I really liked Liz Chidester's sketch this time!  I was tickled to make my own felt/denim/button/twine embellies for this!!!  I also added liquid glass to the red/letter part of the banner. As usual, my layout looks better in person!!! But, I hope you enjoy it! I thought it turned out pretty well... :-)

Thanks so much for looking at my blog! If you have time, please leave me a comment so I know you were here!
Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Grand Haven, Michigan

Well, after trying several pictures and several papers/embellishments etc., I finally found what I wanted to do for this great sketch by Liz Qualman for Sweet Peach Crop Shop's monthly challenge.  They would prefer that we use their kits, but I didn't have one.  The sketch was just too good to pass up!  AND, it was after I received Scrapbooking from the Inside Out's Courage kit that I found the exact papers I wanted to use!! No, my layout is not about courage, but I was able to find some great scrapbooking inspiration when I opened the kit (which is therapy to me)!!!

Here is the sketch:
