4th of July at My Sister's House

Now, that I have it on here, I see that it is  a little blurry. I started it for the embossing challenge but didn't finish it until today--so the white lines are sanded embossed lines i created with my Scor-Pal.  I am entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes....

P.S. This is my second entry.

Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel

I am entering this into Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes!  We couldn't get enough of the antics of the Golden Mantled Ground Squirrels in the Rocky Mountain National Park. They remind everyone so much of chipmunks. It is funny how cute squirrels are when they aren't tearing up your own yard! :-)

Kayaks

I made this for PageMaps anniversary challenge:  Paper Mixology!  And, boy did I ever mix up the collections.  I used papers from several older collections:  Recess, Two Scoops, Archaic, Kioshi, Nook & Pantry and some basics...  I did some embossing on the buttery paper--chevron type arrows. Looks so much nicer in person, but all of mine do....

Thanks for looking!

Baby Congrats

I made this for Page Maps challenge 1-2-3-4 Challenge with Julie Koerber.  I remembered that I was still hoarding this cute collection from Cosmo Cricket and thought it matched the colors pretty well.  So, here it is!!!  It is one of my favorite all time cards...

It looks like I am going to do ALL of the Page Maps challenges. I hope I get a chance to do them all now that I have so many completed!

Thanks for looking!

Easter Eggs

Well, seeing how I have posted for so many days in a row, it seems I am back to scrapbooking in full force!!!  I love this layout and love this collection from Webster's Pages so much.  It is called Girl Land, but you can see that it CAN be adapted to a boys' layout quite easily!!!!  I made it for the Page Maps Challenge and sketch found when you click the link. To me, the prize Webster's Pages is providing is the best of the best:  the new Plum Seeds line. I'd be so happy to win it!!!! Anyway, I digress.  I adapted my layout to 12 x 12.  I thought it would be fun to dig out an old Sizzix bunny die for this cute layout and stamped the chipboard that they are sitting on with a Webster's stamp that matches the collection.  I also gave each bunny a blingy-heart to hold!!!

Thanks for visiting! If you leave a comment letting me know you stopped by, I'd be happy to return the favor!!

Have a great day!

Charlie - All Boy

See how the bracketed page is lopsided on this page? That is exactly what this little pup Charlie has done to our lives--made it very lopsided! Isn't he adorable though?  I made this page for Simon Says Stamp challenge to use a splash of color. I chose yellow mainly because of Charlie's pacifier chew toy.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are having a great day!

P.S. Please pray for us that our old house sells soon or at least has a contract by the middle of February. We've been given a lot of blessings that have made us do ok having two house payments, but we got news that at the end of February our home insurance will be WAY more expensive! Thanks and we appreciate any prayers you could offer!

World's Best Dad

I used my water color pencils from CTMH as well as a couple of Copics to color in my Beatrix Potter image.

Freedom

I made this card for Memorial Day and for a couple of challenges: my friend Stacy's and
Simon Says Stamp Presents a Star Challenge! over at Lily Pad Cards and Simon Says Stamp and Show a summer holiday. You could say this would work as a Memorial Day card and a Fourth of July card. I used a PageMaps sketch... I took it pretty literally!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are enjoying the Memorial Day weekend and remember our fallen soldiers and their families with a prayer.

2009-Booster Bucks

The making of this layout turned out to be a little eerie.  The photos were taken in November of 2009 and have just been sitting around waiting for me to make a layout.  Well, Sunday and yesterday I spent some time on this layout. I just felt like it was time.  After I finished it, I found out that Mr. Wilson passed away on Sunday. It felt kind of strange to me that I had this urge to do these particular photos, not knowing that Mr. Wilson had died... Anyway, I used embellishments from the American Crafts Chaps line which I totally love!!!!!! My journaling is a little difficult to read but I basically said Mitch was excited to win a scholarship when he participated in the Booster Bucks fundraiser for the Speech and Debate team.  Not only did he help the team, he also was lucky to win the scholarship draw!  I am entering this in the Scrapfit Good Ole' Boys challenge!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you are having a great day!

Time to Follow Your Dreams

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Here's a layout I made using CTMH products! It is kind of a senior photo of Mitch that I took.  I am entering this in Scrapfit's Workout #63 sketch challenge. I'm also entering it into Simon Says Bit O' Green!

Thanks for visiting! Have a great weekend!

Sunset at the Beach - San Diego, CA

I'm so excited to have found some time to scrapbook!!!!!  My friend Stacy gave me the Pink Paislee map paper. I've really wanted to dig into it ever since I received it!!! I'm so glad we have the house ready for sale, and we can do some of the things we enjoy doing for a change! I left the part with the United States portion of the map paper visible above the clouds since we were travelling in the states.  I made this layout using a sketch from Artful Delight! I thought the sketch was awesome and used some of the elements as the sun and clouds!  I am also entering this at Scrapfit for challenge #61 to begin with white cardstock!  I sprayed some Tattered Angels (2 colors) and some Mr. Huey Mist on the white background.  Even though this is simple, I think it turned out really well. As usual, it is much prettier in person! I zap-dotted the middle photo to make it stand out more.

Love

I made this layout of all of the Massman boys and their wives! We had these fun photos taken when we had some group family photos taken in November.  I made it using Sketchy Thursday's LAST sketch. Boo hoo! I love their sketches! Anyway, I finished it this evening just in time to enter into The Paper Variety's challenge to use black/white and a kiss of color.  The sketch and prompt seemed to go perfectly with the photos!!!! Don't you agree?

Justin - Senior 2011

Here's a two-page layout that has been sitting on my "work in progress" shelf for a long time. I used a lot of CTMH products on it! These are some of our nephew Justin's senior photos. I added the dragonflies in memory of his little brother who died last year. I'm going to enter it in Simon Says....SPOTS &/or STRIPES challenge as well as my friend Stacy's challenge.  You can see spots all over if you look carefully!

Thanks for visiting.  Have a great day!

My Son is in his Senior Year

I made this for the Frosted Designs' Fabulous Friday Challenge - Something New! Everything with the exception of the brad on the Congrats tag is the new Chap line from American Crafts! I love it!

Phoenix - Sisters at the Desert Botanical Gardens Take 2

I realize this looks a little dark and boring in the photo, but it looks half-way decent in person!  I'm in the mood to scrap some of my many Phoenix photos from the trip my sister and I took in June, 2011.  I used Sketchy Thursday's sketch and a color challenge from Just Us Girls.  I'm using up some of my stash.  I decided to use 6 brads and some old Basic Grey paper that I've had for a long time. It is hard to tell, but I did use one of my favorite Fiskars border punchs on this, too!  And, I made a rosette out of some left over paper from Scenic Route that I used on the last layout I posted!

Thanks for visiting! It makes my day!

Panda at the San Diego Zoo

In keeping with the zoo theme, I decided to make a layout all about the Panda we saw at the San Diego Zoo.  I am entering this in a challenge over at the CK blog to layer at least 3 textures.  I layered the flower with some wedding/netting, felt, foam and a metal/epoxy brad which is layered over ribbon and paper!

Thanks for visiting! Please leave a comment so I know you visited! Thanks and have a great day!

Leo

I did this for a challenge on Sketches 4 All.  It's Leo by himself this time...
I had fun with the Distress crackle paint and some ink. I also had fun with some embossing folders.

Thanks for visiting!

Surprise! It's Stuart and Leo again!

I decided to do a little play on words for a Scrapfit challenge to use a school theme.  My addition problem: 1 Big Brother + 1 Little Brother = 2 time the FUN!  I used Sketchy Thursday's latest sketch for this! I used a bunch of Echo Park! I just love their paper lines! The buttons are all Basic Grey--all 10 of them! I added the buttons for Scrapbook & Cards Today's button challenge.  The chipboard is from a really cute Studio Calico set, and the twine is from The Twinery!  Apparently, I can't get enough scrapping of my nephews! They are the "babies" of the family, so I guess that is why it is so fun to me!

On other news, my son is FINALLY home from Nationals. Yay! He didn't win, but it was a great experience for him, and he got to visit his Texas grandparents while he was in the state.

Thanks for visiting! I appreciate every visit!
