Happy Mother's Day

Well, I am sad that I didn't win the Crafter's Companion blog hop this week because I would have won every Peter Rabbit/Beatrix Potter stamp set they carry!! I would have been in heaven.  Congrats to the winner though! Anyway, this is my entry for the Mother's Day challenge over there. I thought I would make the cute little SWALK character in bright colors.  I used some Crate Paper patterned paper.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you have a fantastic day!!!

Christmas at Grammie and Poppy's

I made this using the sketch at Frosted Designs: Sketch Along Tuesdays Sketch #31.  We spent Christmas at my mom and dad's house this year!  I wanted to capture some of the decorations in a layout.  The little snowman quilt was made by my sister, and the polar bear hanging on it was made by my mom.  There is nothing better than being home for Christmas!

Thanks for visiting!

Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens (many more to come, too)

My son says this layout is too busy, and that may be true; but that is just how the Desert Botanical Gardens seemed to me at times. There were so many plants to see and they had a wild, untamed quality about them even though they were carefully planted and maintained by the garden's staff.  I got the sketch from Inspired Blueprints, which is new to me.  And, I'm entering it into Simon Says Stamp & Show Travels!

Thank you so much for visiting! It makes my day to know that you stopped by to say hi!

Phoenix - Sisters at the Desert Botanical Gardens Take 2

I realize this looks a little dark and boring in the photo, but it looks half-way decent in person!  I'm in the mood to scrap some of my many Phoenix photos from the trip my sister and I took in June, 2011.  I used Sketchy Thursday's sketch and a color challenge from Just Us Girls.  I'm using up some of my stash.  I decided to use 6 brads and some old Basic Grey paper that I've had for a long time. It is hard to tell, but I did use one of my favorite Fiskars border punchs on this, too!  And, I made a rosette out of some left over paper from Scenic Route that I used on the last layout I posted!

Thanks for visiting! It makes my day!

Ocean Dreams (Coffee Filter flowers) - and I'm FAMOUS

I made this layout for Fiskars and CK challenges. I used a Fiskars scallop punch on a spray misted coffee filter on all three different types of flowers that I made. The top one has a Sizzix flower base, but the rest have 4-6 Fiskars scallops. Gosh, I must have used at least 3 or 4 different mist colors to kind of look like the sand and the ocean. I also cut my coffee filter letters on the Sizzix. It is hard to see, but I also used the Fiskars Washed Ashore border punch on this.

Now, why am I famous, you ask? Well, I was thrilled yesterday to get a surprise package from Fiskars. What did it contain? A new border punch which I helped name! It is called Falling for You. This particular punch is so great–-our family so loves trees and leaves–with the hubby being into wood-turning. I couldn't be more excited!

First of Many from the San Diego Zoo

I used this week's Sketchy Thursday's challenge to make this layout from the San Diego Zoo. I took and printed so many photos from our trip. You'll be seeing so much more from the zoo as well as the San Diego area.

The little yellow hemp flower is made with some Gluber's that I won from Cosmo Cricket!!! Yay! Also, the leaf border punches from Fiskars are from Tania Willis! Thanks again guys!

Thanks for visiting! Please leave a comment to let me know you stopped by! I'll try to get around to you as soon as possible! I'm always about 150 blog feeds behind... :-)

A Layout About Me

I made this GREEN layout about me (ha ha, no picture) for The Paper Variety's latest challenge!  I got the interview prompt from Creating Keepsakes.   I used Trunk Bay Tattered Angels mist (hard to see but I did use a TA tree mask also) that I got with a gift certificate I won to Coordinates Collections.  I just love the Cosmo Cricket paper that I used.  The darling hedgie is one I bought  from Purple Pumpkin and the crochet flower is one that Jessica sent me from Australia. I've been hoarding it as I only have one left of the 5 she sent. My friend Stacy had the idea to not use a photo in the layout. So, the Creating Keepsakes prompt worked out nicely!

Pandas at the Zoo in Memphis in Black and White

I did this for several challenges at  Sketches For All. Go over there for all of the fun challenges! There are usually prizes, but the challenges are just fun anyway!! :-) I added this to The Studio Challenge to use something as a mask--I have a heart just above the Hambly that I found in just lying around in my craft room and used it as a mask for my black home-made shimmery mist!
