Bookmarks

I was in the mood to make something quick and easy. Luckily, The Paper Variety had a no scrapbook layout or card challenge and Simon Says has an anything goes challenge.  So, I can enter these bookmarks into their challenges.

Thanks for looking!

Have you been wondering where I have been?

Our family has been very busy lately! We have been getting our house ready to sell. We plan on moving closer to my husband's job which is about 45 minutes away! We just wanted to let our son finish high school where he started! He loves being on the speech and debate team!

Speaking of the speech and debate team! We just found out that our son Mitch
"earned the National Forensic League’s highest degree of student membership, Premier Distinction. A degree of Premier Distinction reflects sustained excellence in classroom activities, competition rounds, and service projects. Students may earn points in six separate categories: speech, debate, congress, service, district and national. A total of 171 high school students earned the Premier Distinction degree between September 2011 and January 2012, placing them among the top half of one percent of the NFL student members."

We are so proud of him! He acted like it was no big deal, but we say it is!!!!

Anyway, this is the cover of a Smash journal I plan to make. I always try to make time for my friend Stacy's challenges no matter how busy I am!! I am also entering it into LESSology Challenge #11: Flights of Fantasy.

Thanks for visiting!!!

Kraft, Pink and White - Day 3 of Artful Delight's Birthday Celebration!

Well, it is  Day 3 of Artful Delight's Birthday Celebration!  For this challenge, you were to make a project with Kraft, Pink and White!  So, I whipped up a quick little butterfly card.  I left the inside blank so I could use it for a birthday card or a thank you card! It could also be a "cheer you up" card!

I had fun making projects for the birthday celebration!!

Thanks for visiting!

This is Actually Me - Can you tell?

I made this using Sketch Inspiration 221 (?)! My friend Stacy sent me the Imaginisce Roly rosies and tool to make these flowers lickety-split! I love making these flowers anyway, and this tool and precut spirals make it so fun to do! I love the Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends collection. I got it from here! Thanks!

Thanks for visiting!
I've said a prayer for all of those military who are serving us now and in the past! I hope you will pause to think about them, too!

Reading

I made this a while ago, but I just hadn't posted it to the blog yet.  It is mostly Crate Paper. My son and his girlfriend were reading to our nephew (Mitch's cousin)! He just loved it!! I was pretty happy with this layout. I'm not sure why I hadn't posted it yet. I got WAY TOO involved with a huge sketch-a-thon last month, and I think I'm still worn out from it! I hope you enjoy!

Just to let you know, every time I receive a happy comment it makes me smile!

Steve Working while we were on Vacation!

I did this layout for a tone-on-tone challenge and a use a stamp as your title challenge at Sketches for You!! All of the jewels are white but some of them appear to be pink on the photo... Don't know why... Also entered in Scrap Our Stash!

Vintage Home Collage

I was inspired by Amanda Jones over at The Studio to make this collage. I used 7 Gypsies Orchestra paper and rubbed some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen over it.  I made my own flower and used a crochet flower made by my friend Mary--with a little of the distres ink rubbed on it to make it look a little older. The birds are from a lovely Cosmo Cricket paper pack--looks very vintage I thought.  The buttons ARE vintage, and I thought they all had something unique to offer to this collage! I don't know if this will go in a frame or what yet, but I thought it turned out ok.  I thought it would be good for Brenda's challenge for fall colors over at Sketches 4 All!

Meijer Gardens - Textures and Colors

I made this layout from a sketch by Sassy Lil’ Sketches. Every single one of the rectangles are textured with the exception of the darker yellow which is from a Prima tablet I received from a friend. I had all of these tiny photos of some of Chihuly's sculptures as well as some orchids from the gardens when we visited this June. I thought the sketch was perfect for these photos! If you follow my blog at all, you are probably wondering: "Just how many photos did this girl take at the gardens?" Well, too many I suppose! I'm still not finished scrapbooking them!

Six Flags in 2007

I created this using Sketches in Thyme challenge 9. I flipped the sketch and only used one photo! I entered it at Practical Scrappers anniversary celebration and will also enter it Week 2- What Shape are you in Challenge???? to use circles at the  The Paper Trail(this challenge is just for fun! I don't even want to think about how many circles are on this page! From the holes in the border strip, to the dots on flower-shaped diecut, to the buttons, to the dots on the Jillibean journaling block there are quite a few!

1967 or 1968- Sweet Dreams

This is me and my twin sister! I am the one who is sucking her thumb. I made this layout for Challenge 4 over at Sketches in Thyme. It also fit Lacee's July challenge on the Pages in Time forum.  NOTE:  I got the papers from a kit I had won from The Treasure Box Club on Sketchbook Inspirations.

Mom and Dad--So Thankful for You and Pay it Forward

I used Bo Bunny on this simple layout.  It uses yellow but I don't want to be too greedy and enter it as a 3rd entry for Natalie's challenge to use yellow as a focal feature!

On another note:  Kimmy sent me a wonderful box of goodies as a pay it forward!  The stipulation for playing is that you must send a pay it forward to 5 other people through your blog or FB!  I am paying it forward to the following ladies (who I have already contacted).  All of them have supported my work through my blog or FB.
