Tags Duo - Couture Creations

Hi all,

I was sitting at my desk today and looked at these gorgeous wings I had die cut and knew I wanted to create a tag.  I made two tags instead just because I loved the collections so much..

Tag One - Keep Memories Safe In Your Heart.

Isn't this pretty.
I cut two straight tags, one pattern and one plain to adhere underneath to strengthen it.
I die cut the wings and inked around the edges to highlight how pretty they are.
After stamping the heart I fussy cut it and placed a brad in the centre cog and the top of the wings.
I placed two foam squares on top of the heart then adhered that to the tag.

I placed a scrap strip on the tag and added a die cut key from the Straight Tags set with the heart popped up on a foam square. I die cut the cogs and placed them as shown. I love the little dragonfly so stamped the second generation shadow on the tag. I then stamped over the shadow with the outline of the dragonfly. I thought it need more so stamped the outline on scrap paper and fussy cut and popped it up with the wings lifted. Stamping the quote from the Steampunk Sentiments Stamp set and popping it up on Foam squares made this tag I think.. I used Premium Adhesive gems and pearls to finish it all off.

Tag Two - Live Your Dreams

Again using scraps from the My Secret Love Collection I cut the Straight Tag and inked around the edges. Now I just purchased these gorgeous Layered Trilliums dies from the Peaceful Peonies Collection and I love them.. I die cut two sets as shown but left the back off the bottom flower and adhered these over several Open Branch leaves from the Lest We Forget Collection. I again did the same with the dragonfly as above and die cut and fussy cut the butterflies from the Butterfly Flourish mini die. Stamping Live Your Dreams from the Steampunk Sentiments Stamp set and popping it up with foam squares was perfect.. Gems and pearls from Couture Creations finishes the tags off nicely.

Love these flowers and dragonfly.

The two tags together. Don't they look gorgeous..

I love how the wings open with the Keep Memories Safe In Your Heart Tag.
btw.. that is the last of my papers from the My Secret Love Collection you see on the bottom.
mmm, I wonder if I can get another tag from it lol

Yah I did get another tag from the left overs.
Adore this stamp which I stamped twice and fussy cut..

They do look wonderful don't they..

I hope I have inspired you
to create glorious things.

Exciting News and A Brand New Project.. Ephemoire

Hi all,
I have some exciting news, I have been selected to be on the design team for Ephemoire which is a digital art group.. link here:  Ephemoire
I am totally stoked to be working along side the talented group Traci has designing for her..

For my first project I am using the Printable Journal Kit - St Patrick's Day Shamrocks - 5x7 Papers - Irish Eyes - Journal Insert - Collage - Journaling - Scrap - Junk Journal .. This kit really has a lot of elements and I hope I can do it justice with my projects..

Facebook Ephemoire

... An Irish Folder ...

For steps 1,2 & 3 I printed the kit, fussy cut the elements and trimmed the papers then inked around the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink..
I also decided why not make this folder into a Irish Proverbs and Sayings Book..

The cover of the folder.. I adore this piece of paper and wanted to make it the main feature of the cover..I added a shaker card with the name of the collection Irish Eyes..

I love making shaker cards and this was so easy with the gorgeous fussy cut flower from the kit..
I also used the paper to make a shamrock but couldn't help myself I had to put a gold pearl in the middle..

The folder closed and tied with some dyed seam binding..

The front of  the folder opens to an easel card..
I have added little bits of glitter and dimensional magic to the elements on all of the pages
to give them an extra little pop.

Under the front cover of the easel card, what a wonderful toast...

Back of the easel card. I think this circle embellishment is gorgeous and covered it in dimensional magic to make it really pop..

The opened folder which opens to a concertina style looks so effective in real life..

The concertina section opened on the front with the easel card sitting up..

Card still opened with the easel card laying down.

The full folder opened on the front with the easel card laying face down...

Back of the folder opened with the easel card closed..

The cover of the folder..

Inside the easel card with the cover opened..

Lots of shine and gloss on this page..
I wanted the papers to really shine but still felt it still needed minimal embellishments as in the case of a little piece of lace and ribbon..The flowers have dimensional magic on them and there is a little glitter on the tag which holds the card up..

Page one with the folder cover opened.. As this is such a gorgeous page I only added a little embellishments to highlight it.. Isn't that butterfly wonderful..

Page two inside from the front . I placed the heart with 3D foam tape on top of the paper ribbon to give it some dimension.. The lady in the frame I covered with glossy accents to give
the illusion of glass..

Inside front page three .. I turned the flower to the back and using a flower ball tool shaped the flowers and then placed 3D foam tape under it to make it stand out.

Page four inside front and how gorgeous is this piece of paper!  I created the shamrock and placed it over a feather to match her hat..

Inside front page five. I actually love this page.
The tags and pockets are in the kit for you to fussy cut and how brilliant do they look..

I fussy cut the stars and Irish Eyes from the name of the paper for the tags..

Turning over the folder is page one from the back which has a pocket for tags, I thought blarney was perfect for the cover of this pocket.

Tags from the pocket.

Back of the tags..

Page Two of the back.. (love this page).. I coated her hair band and buttons in dimensional magic. I added pearls to her hair band and glitter to her buttons..

Page seven on the back.. I placed 3D foam tape under the heart to give it a little height then sprinkled a tiny amount of glitter over glossy accents on the shamrock..

Back of the folder, I kept this simple as this is the back of the folder and will have lots of use..

Top view of the folder..

I really do hope you like this folder and that I have done justice to the papers..

I hope I have inspired you
to create glorious things..

Card Folder - Heart of MIne - AVSC

Hi all,

Another project for AVSC in which I so enjoyed creating that I should pay Aunty Vera for the honour of doing it lol..

Cut one piece of cardstock at 12 inches x 5 inches
Cut two pieces of cardstock at 5 3/4 inches x 2 3/4 inches

Score the large piece of cardstock at 5 1/2 inch and 6 1/2 inch

Score the pockets at 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch as shown on three sides only..
For the pockets, Cut two pieces of black cardstock at 4 1/2 inches x 2 inches and
two pieces of Love Notes cardstock at 5 1/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches..

NOTE: check the pattern before punching the two corners...

Cut the tabs off at the bottom..

It was here that I realised that the black was too strong for what I wanted to do so I changed it over to cream cardstock. (all the measurements are the same as above).

Round the corners both ends on the large piece of cardstock.

You can see where I now have a spare one lol.

I created a template for where I wanted the handle due to the thickness of the cardstocks.. ( papers crooked on this photo lol)

I decided to create black mats under the gorgeous papers to make the pop more..

Cut four pieces of black cardstock at 4 3/4 inches x 5 1/4 inches, round the corners,
and one piece at 4 3/4 inches x 3/4 inch.
Cut four pieces of Love Notes cardstock at 4 1/2 inches x 5 inches and one piece
at 4 1/2 inches x 1/2 inch.
(AND I forgot to take a photo of these steps lol)

For the pockets, Cut two pieces of black cardstock at 4 1/2 inches x 2 inches and
two pieces of Love Notes cardstock at 5 1/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches..

NOTE: check the pattern before punching the two corners...

I used this little journal card as the focus piece on my shaker front.

I added die cut notes and a sticker on the front of the acetate which is framed by Label Seventeen (Spellbinder Nestabilities),

I found this rose in a scrap bag and used it on the corner.

I only have white seam binding so decided to dye it a pinkish red..

On a plastic sheet rub some ink and spray with water.. Also spray the seam binding to make it easier to soak up the colour and remember it will dry lighter..  You might have to do this several times, even putting ink to the seam binding if you want it darker.. Dry it completely..
(I used Abandoned Coral and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks..)

The one I did above with a Vintage Photo one.

Inside the Card Folder. And a quick look at what is going into the Folder..

The finished Card Folder..
