AAA Birthday Challenge

 Hello!

Well we are finally at the last challenge of a long and difficult year.  I hope that you have found playing along with us at AAA Birthday Challenge to be a fun way to stay creative!  The theme for our December challenge is Twinkle so lots of opportunity to fill your December birthday cardmaking with sparkle.  And we have two $15 credits from the amazing Joy Clair to spend on digital products :)

I have gone for a very clean and simple birthday card using the star cluster and a sentiment from our recently released Space Cadet stamp set.

I simply heat embossed the stars on to dark blue cardstock using Wow! Silver Embossing Glitter and placed a die cut star aperture over the top.  The sentiment is heat embossed in silver and the focal panel is matted on to some matte silver cardstock.

The rest of the DT have got lots of creative ways of using the challenge theme to share with you over at AAA Birthday.  I love seeing how everyone has a different take on the theme!

Sadly this will be my last DT chard for AAA Birthday.  Things are busy with my little business and I can't give the challenge the attention that it deserves.  I want to thank the amazing Jane who does a fab job of coordinating the challenge and all of the lovely DT for their inspiration over the past year.  I have had lots of fun and hope to still be able to play along whenever I can.

Thanks for stopping by!

AAA Birthday Challenge

 Hello!

We are here with the start of the AAA Birthday Challenge for October and it is a fab photo inspiration this month full of beautiful colours and autumnal imagery....

Simply create a birthday card which is inspired by some aspect of this picture to play along with us!

I decided to create a card based on the pumpkin tucked at the back and used our pumpkin trio stencil to make this:

I simply inked through the stencil and added some pencil shading before adding some gold splatters.

I hope that you like it and check out the rest of ideas from the DT - there are so many directions that you can go in with this photo!

You have until 1 November to join in.

Thanks as always for stopping by,

AAA Birthday Challenge #17

 Hello!

It is time for our next monthly challenge over at AAA Birthday!  This month's challenge theme is lots of fun ......

As we are in September and it feels as if autumn is just around the corner I decided to create an autumnal card with our Quick Brown Fox stamp set and new Pumpkin Trio stencil.

I simply stamped and masked the fox before inking up the large pumpkin.  The foliage comes from our Meadow Flowers stamp set.

What critters will you use to create birthday cards this month?  The fab DT over at AAA Birthday Challenge have lots of inspiration to get you started.

I will also link up at Time Out where the theme is Season - I haven't played along for ages but this autumnal card works so well :)

AAA Birthday Challenge

Hello!

We are already in to August....it has been such a topsy turvy year that I am losing track of time :)  However, a new month brings a new AAA Birthday Challenge and this month we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge to get you inspired:

I have gone for the top line - Bright, Embossing and Masculine to make this card:

I have used our new Gamer Stamp set - heat embossing the headphones, along with our Distressed Elements stamps and Splatters stencil.  I went with a colour scheme of Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade and Mermaid Lagoon to keep the card zingy!

Which of the rows will you go for to create your birthday card this month?

Thank you for stopping by,

I have made a fun birthday card with the cute bee from Bees Knees on a spring to give him some wobble.  I have used our Banners and Bunting stencil to add a party feel!

I hope you like this happy card and I look forward to seeing what 3D creations you make.  The AAA Birthday DT have produced some fabulous designs!

AAA Birthday Challenge #13

Hello!

We're back with a new challenge for the month of May and it is one that you are sure to have stash to play along with - we want you to make birthday cards which feature Things with Wings :)

I decided to use our new Dragonfly Duo stencil for this card:

I used metallic paints through the stencil on to acetate and cut it out and also heat embossed the dragonfly in gold on to dark blue card.  I adhered the acetate dragonfly on to the embossed one so that it was slightly offset so that the gold shows through.  I used versamark ink through our Indian Mandala stencil on to a square panel of white cardstock and brushed mica powder over it to give a subtle background shimmer.

Which things with wings will you use on your design?

I hope you like my card and get the opportunity to play along with us this month.   The talented DT have lots more inspiration to share with you at AAA Birthday.

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes this week.

AAA Birthday Challenge

Hello!

Well, April is here already and despite the strange times that we are in, one thing is for sure.....we still need birthday cards :)  The them at AAA Birthday this month is Dots and/or Stripes:

I decided to go for quite a stylised look.....

I simply inked Chipped Sapphire through a circle aperture and then used copper embossing paste through our Stacked Lines stencil.  The sentiment is from our new Happy Words stamp set.  Super simple but quite a clean graphic look x

Here are the products that I have used today:

I hope that you are able to play along with us this month!

AAA Birthday Challenge

Hello!

The beginning of the month brings a new challenge at AAA Birthdays and this month we are asking you to feature flowers on your birthday cards.  Who knows, spring may even be just around the corner?!

I used our Floral Honeycomb stencil on this card by inking through it in Fossilised Amber and going over that layer with clear texture paste in to which I sprinkled some gold glitter.  I inked the stencil a second time on another piece of card with coloured inks for the floral elements and cut them out.  The are stuck on the main panel with foam tape for dimension.

I like the cheery blue and yellow colour combo!

I hope that you can play along with us this month.  Flowers always work for birthday cards at any time of year :)

AAA Birthday Challenge #9

Hello!

We begin the new year with a new monthly challenge over at AAA Birthday and this month we are celebrating birthdays with shaker cards:

I used our Whale of a Time stamp set and Scenic Borders stencil to create this card:

I simply inked through the wave border repeatedly on the card panel to create the watery effect and then die cut a heart from the top left corner.  I stamped and watercoloured the cute whale on a separate piece of card before cutting it out and I white heat embossed the sentiment on the dark blue card going on the bottom layer.  A bit of acetate and some sequins behind the window and the card was complete!

You have until 2 Feb to play along with us....it is nice to get back to birthday cards after all of that festive cardmaking!  Check out the amazing designs from the talented DT over at AAA Birthday :)

Here are the products that I used in this card which are available from www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

Thanks for stopping by and happy cardmaking!

AAA Birthday Card Challenge

Hello!

It is time for our next monthly AAA Birthday Card Challenge which, if you are like me, is a welcome excuse to take a break from making christmas cards :)  This month's theme is Balloons and Banners:

I decided to use this opportunity to ink up a few new stencils including Up and Away and Scenic Borders:

I inked up the main hot air balloon in Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilised Amber and added some light pencil shading to add some depth to the colours.  I also used the cloud border to create the sky on this card.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Here are the stencils that I used which you can buy in store at www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes.

I hope you like my card!

Hello!

How can we be in November already?!  The theme for our challenge over at AAA Birthday this month is to feature a number on your design.

I decided to get the sweet pug from the Pugs and Hugs stamp set dressed up for a birthday party!  I combined him with the Say What? and Confetti Sprinkles stencils....

I hope you like this fun card and play along with us this month!

AAA Birthday

Hello!

We are back with our October edition of the AAA Birthday Challenge and this time we have some really vibrant colours to inspire you!

The challenge is to use at least two of the colours from this picture on your birthday makes.....

I decided to try and use all of the colours and went with a fireworks inspired card using different coloured embossing powders with my Circle Burst stencil:

I don't use coloured embossing powders enough so it was a lot of fun to go through the stencil with versamark and then add spots of colour, shaking each powder off before adding the next.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

I hope that you join in the fun this month and see what the rest of the talented DT have made using the colour inspiration!

Here is the stencil that I used.  You can buy it from my shop www.funkyfossil.co.uk:

AAA Birthday

Hello!

It is time for our 5th challenge at AAA Birthday - can you believe it?!  I am excited about this month's theme as it is to use a stencil on your birthday cards.  As someone who makes and sells stencils that couldn't be a better topic for me :)

I have made a couple of cards:

On this simple card I have inked up my 3D Cubes stencil in Blueprint Sketch and Evergreen Bough and simply added a fab outline sentiment from Uniko.  The effect of the stencil makes this an eye catching card but it is super quick!

Here I simply masked the middle panel of the card and inked up the Random Rectangles stencil in oranges and pinks.  I added some of the Micro Dots to make the design a bit grungier.  I used the same sentiment from Uniko - I love the fact that you can customise your sentiment by colouring in or leaving the words as outlines.

I hope that I have given you a few ideas of ways that you can use stencils to create really effective and quick birthday cards.  The rest of the DT have more great inspiration to share with you over at AAA Birthday.

Here are the stencils that I used:

AAA Birthday #4

Hello!

We are starting another monthly AAA Birthday challenge and this one is for the boys :)

I knew exactly which stencil I wanted to use for this card:

I sponged through my surfer stencil with black acrylic paint and then used the mask to cover him up while I inked my sunray stencil in the background.  A few touches with my white posca paint pain added some highlights to the image.

I shall also link up at The Male Room Challenge where the theme is Surf's Up.

The rest of the DT have fab birthday cards to inspire you this month over at AAA Birthday. I hope you will take the time to play along with us :)

AAA Birthday #3

Hello!

We are starting our new month long challenge over at AAA Birthday and it is all about the girls :)

I decided to go feminine and floral and used my new Beautiful Inside and Out stamps:

I simply inked the floral branch in both corners of the card and watercoloured them with distress inks.

I shall also link up at Simon's Wednesday Challenge where Anything Goes.

All you need to do to play along with us during July is to create a birthday card on the broad theme that we have set.  Check out the amazing cards that the rest of the DT have put together to get you inspired along with our fabulous GD and winner of the first challenge - Michelle Lupton!

This is the stamp set that I used:

You can buy it from my online store - www.funkyfossil.co.uk
