Spaceships and Laser Beams

The handmade market seems to be flooded with cute items for girly girls. But what about the boys? They want cool handmade stuff, too! Thanks to the Etsy collective Spaceships and Laser Beams there's more boyish items to choose from. This group illustrates DIY party supplies just for boys & they have developed a special-edition cupcake wrapper for Valentine's Day that boys are sure to love. It can be hard to find Valentine's cupcakes that appeal to boys, so the idea behind this cupcake wrapper is to look at Valentine's Day from a little boy's perspective: Ewww. Girls. Ewwww. Kissing. Ewwww. From far away, the wrapper looks as though it's turquoise with red hearts. But up close you realize those aren't hearts at all - they're germs and cooties. Awesome! This unique perspective was illustrated & designed by Andrew, the only male designer in this collective. And, the icing on the cupcake so to speak, is that 5% of all sales are donated to the YMCA Strong Kids campaign that aims to help young boys grow in to strong young men. Visit the Spaceships and Laser Beams blog that covers all things boy party related.

The tote-ally sweet bag is made of heavyweight cotton canvas and is screen printed in two colors, black and red. Tara has generously offered Funky Finds readers FREE SHIPPING! Sassy Koozies

Natalie Brown of Sassy Koozies creates funky and wild koozies that will add a bit of sass to your bottled and canned beverages. If you're taking a bottle of wine to a party, why not dress it up with an animal print koozie? The zebra print koozies that are embellished with brightly colored boas are my favorite! The fuschia and black can koozie is also a lively design. And, if you have something in mind for a personal design, Natalie welcomes custom projects.

- I designed Natalie's shop banner & business cards. If you're looking someone to create custom designed items for you, please let me know. You can see samples of my work & pricing at Right On Graphics.

Digital Decor

Digital Decor is a spin-off of Rhonda's graphic design company, SoCo Creative. After moving SoCo Creative to its own website, Rhonda still wanted to have an Etsy shop making her digital drawings available to everyone. Having been a graphic designer for seven years, it's no wonder that she wanted to continue with this aspect of her business. The subjects of her digital drawings range from fashion to fruit & all are big on color. The drawings are printed with high-quality archival materials, so they're not only suited for display but will last for a very long time. The retro martini print would look great displayed in a home bar area. And just about every stylish woman I know would love the Hot Bag print. Rhonda's digital designs make adding artwork to your space affordable & fun.
