I ADORE those vampie colors! China glaze hit a home run with VII. It's a drop dead gorgeous vampie purplish-brown wine color. This color is IT! Then, to add a little romance to that sexy, I added those flowers with the amazing holo of China Glaze's TTYL from their OMG collection (I love those colors). Yah, I'm wearing this one OUT!!! It's so beautiful. The Konad image disc I used was M20. I have really fallen in love with China Glaze... now, if they could JUST make those brushes larger! *** Base coat is one coat of Nail Aid's Pink Growth Th...

Don't Squelch A Cold

Well, well, well! I have a cold. I am miserable. I LOVE IT! And not just because my voice is all raspy and sexy... although it totally is. Nope, it's because I know that this cold is a vehicle for my body to cleanse. Our bodies have different ways of eliminating built up toxins. It ALWAYS involves bodily fluid in different forms so when you're sick, the lovely fluid of choice is (of course) mucus or phlegm Sickness is a time of ridding the body of mega toxins in the ocean of phlegm production (phlegm count 4). In all different colors the toxins are removed , sometimes exiting the body forcefully with the violent coughing and the constant nose blowing. So the next time you get sick, before reaching for the cold medicine or vitamins to stop your sickness in it's tracks, please remember the human process that you might be disrupting. It's hard to do at first because after years of squelching sickness, TONS of toxins have built up and our bodies aren't used to having to...

Super Duper

"Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease."~ Hippocrates Because what we eat is broken down and absorbed by our cells, the phrase "you are what you eat" rings true. But just as there are natural forces that are within us to heal, there can also be natural forces within us to harm as well... depending on what we eat. So if you're eating sugar and fat and salt, what are THOSE natural forces doing to your body? I recently read and re-read an AMAZING book by David Wolfe called Superfoods, The Food and Medicine of the Future. It really hit home how the natural powers in the food we eat really do make us sick or make us well. Mr. Wolfe really touched on those foods that REALLY promote wellness in some pretty incredible ways. He calls them Superfoods. “Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food.”~ Hippocrates Here are MY favorites: Raw Cacao - come on folks... CHOCOLATE!!! Definitely at the top of the list! And when sweetened with natura...

Dark Romance!

Well, just a quick post tonight gang! For some reason I am on a black polish kick lately! I can honestly say, black is one of my favorite colors! And look how pretty (and even understated) black is! But then, of course, black is also dramatic! I was inspired to play with the black after reading Mary's "Dark Romance" at Etsy.com . She writes: Lately I've found myself gravitating toward the idea of a Gothic love story. I've fallen prey to the hit vampire series True Blood , and I'm looking forward to the upcoming sequel to Twilight , a movie series depicting the notion of a forbidden dark love. There's just something mysterious about an unattainable, slightly supernatural romance: am I right, ladies? If you're drawn to a darker aesthetic, I think you might like our Steampunk and Noir style guide. Without further ado, I bring you my Etsyfied interpretation of a dark romance. Wow... she's quite the writer, and we all know how much I LOVE Twilight ! A...

OMG... It's An Illness!

You know... for someone that I SERIOUSLY dismissed as a "reality star", Kim Kardashian is really turning out to be a celebrity in my eyes. She's "turning the tide" and I LOVE IT. I'm totally obsessed with seeing what she will do or say next... it's an illness. I know that actors are kind of down on reality stars because they get paid for simply having a camera crew follow them around, but if actors would have taken time to connect with "real people" beyond the glitz of Hollywood, reality stars wouldn't be so successfully winning our hearts. You see, while actors have to watch what they say and how they say it for fear of alienating the next gig, reality stars are paid for the very opposite. And I'm so tired of seeing the Hollywood fakes! The "Putting Real In Reality" is what I think Kim Kardashian has tapped into. I think she's realizing that she's getting paid for just being herself and she's starting to loosen u...

We've Come a Long Way Baby!

I love, love, love this picture!!! I pulled this pic off the net. It's going around because some ridiculous story broke about Kim Kardashian's cellulite! Wow, are our priorities so mixed up?!? Well, I'm here writing about it too, so I've established that my priorities are mixed up but there's something amazing to be said about this pic AND Ms. Kardashian's response: "So what, I have cellulite!" Ok, first of all, from looking at this pic, there are (MAYBE) three areas that look digitally enhanced and I only noticed those areas because the two pics are side by side. I did notice that someone washed her color. I can honestly say beyond a shadow of a doubt that the natural pic is way more beautiful to me because it is real, and she is really a beautiful woman without anything retouched. This is the same thing that just happened with Jessica Simpson in recent months. When are we going to stop doing this to ourselves? We are trying to live up to false imag...

Twilight

Ok , I have spent the entire weekend watching/blogging/talking about Twilight. Why does it work? Why does it move me and every teenage female that I meet? Because there is something very sexy about a bad boy with a good heart. "He" is the ultimate fantasy guy. And by the way, I am not the only adult female pining over the hero in this movie... no this is not reserved for teenage girls. There were quite a few moms at the release party discussing this very topic. All I know is that this story is amazing, the characters are incredible and I want to run out and buy all the books. Now to be objective, the actors playing the main characters can use a few acting lessons, but the cinematography and the directing were superb. Editing was wonderful (nothing lagged on) and the music score will be part of my dreams forever. I also LOVED Stephenie Meyer's cameo! That was a nice personal touch to the movie that I missed the first two times around. hahahahaha ! I'm hoping that the p...

Raw and Totally Sexy!

I just completed the Master Cleanse . Wow, that is always so tough, but sooo good for you! Your skin looks better, you have more energy, you're healthier, all of your senses are heightened , what could be sexier? Ok , so the cleanse itself... not so sexy, but the aftermath is just awesome! So to continue all that sexiness, I am incorporating raw food into my diet. I have already made almond milk, and gelato . I have even substituted raw, or rather organic because they are not "raw" once they reach over 115 degrees, ingredients into some foods that I have cooked (pancakes) because the organic ingredients are full of nutrients with no preservatives. And this is really fun experimenting with my husband. He is having a blast tasting this and that. He has even agreed to let me buy a food dehydrator for the purpose of preparing more mouth watering treats. But sexy is as sexy does, so I will keep everyone posted how this fun and mental change goes for me.
