Fun and Mental Changes

Well.... so this in my LOOSE interpretation of Tim Burton's Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.  My pinks were more on the purple side, and I didn't have white mascara but..... didn't I rock those eyebrows!!!  LOL!  And honestly, my eyelashes are so blonde, I really didn't need the white mascara anyway.  I think, in the movie, the hatter had an orange-ish brown color lining his water line on ONE of his eyes and white lining the water line of the other, then white mascara on his lashes.  I didn't have the mascara or the orange-ish liner so I lined my water lines with white pencil.  Lucky for me I already have the orange hair, but unlucky for me my hatter is missing her hat!  I really dug this one even though I was missing quite a bit.... but this look still pulled together!!! This look features Illamasqua white foundation mixed with Mac NW15 Studio Fix Foundation.  I then used various pink, purple and red eyeshadows around the eyes and ch...

Ok, day three of Simply Betty Stamps' Funky Potters Sneak Peek is RON!!!!  I LOVE this image, and today's sneak peek is part of our bi-weekly challenge.  So... hopefully you can tell by my project for The Burtonesque Dolls that the challenge this time is Potter in Wonderland featuring Ron Weasley in Wonderland where The Cheshire cat has just eaten his rat, Scabbers. I had so much fun with this challenge!  As usual, the story in my head is always so funny as The Cheshire cat takes on a voice like the Cheetos cheetah (which we all know was stolen from American McGee's Cheshire Cat in Alice anyway). And to break out my Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland paper and embellishments is ALWAYS added fun as well. So let's see what you can do!  The challenge this time is to create your own Potterish character and place that character in any Burton movie... basically the Potters using the Flue Network and end up in Burtonland!  It doesn'...

But that is so up my alley, well, you know! :) Anyway, the challenge is to create a project using the tea party scene from Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland. I bought a brand new digi JUST for this challenge. I had it in my head to do a crazy Mad Hatter (cuz we're all a little mad here) and I gotta tell you, I could NOT find a crazier Mad Hatter than the one I used for this card!!! You can find, in my opinion, the PERFECT Mad Hatter at The Octopode Factory . I also purchased the AWESOME creepy flamingo and Tweedle Dee and Dum!!! LOVE IT! Anyway, I hope you all have as much fun with this challenge as I did.... I laughed the entire time I made this card!

Ok folks... it is here! This is my first-ever design project for The Burtonesque Dolls ! Wow! What a fun design project it was too! This week's challenge over at The Burtonesque Dolls is to create an original project following Cheri's AWESOME sketch (click on the link for deets)! Yah, this one was a fun one. I took this opportunity to play around with the different stitch options available on my sewing machine... boy, did I really open her up!!! hahahahahaha! You can't really see because of the stitching, but I found the perfect Tim Holtz paper with the words "Cat" and "Girl", spicing it all up with the key and lock and I couldn't help but devote this one to Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland. I felt the "period" image ( Tickled Pink Stamps , 20's Evie) was the PERFECT image for this and I LOVED trying to age everything with the monochromatic Copic coloring. Yah, this one is definitely a favorite and it's only my first one! And ...

** The following blog post is the insane rantings of an Alice In Wonderland freak. This post may not be suitable for all audiences.... * I can usually get inspired by a trip to my local craft store, but today I've got a story of being overtaken and molested by it. I was going through the clearance aisle of my local Joann's craft store when I spied the mother of all punches. In fact, this is BY FAR THE COOLEST punch I've ever seen!!! Now WHY was this punch being given away at the mere price tag of $3.00 (ok, and there were TWO THERE...that's NUTS)? HOW did I manage to be in the right place at the right time to snag this hidden gem? And WHY had I never seen this punch before? I gotta be honest, I not only would have paid full price for this beauty, I would have probably paid double on steal-bay... that's how great this punch is. Awe! Thanx for the inspiration BabyD... this GORGEOUS Konadicure rocks! I just LOVE that For Audrey polish from China Glaze and I would have NEVER thought of using the leopard image with those color combinations. This turned out WONDERFUL!!! So, the base coat is For Audrey (of course) and the yellow color is China Glaze's Lemon Fizz (on the thumb). The yellow of the remaining digits is Konad's special polish in yellow and the black is also Konad's special stamping polish. This really is a sweet manicure just in time for Easter. I bet this would also look AMAZING with lavender and the Psyche Pink Konad special polish! Oh, wow... I'm going to be giving THAT combo a try before Easter gets here as well. It hits me that the ***Spoiler Alert*** may not apply here. Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass have been around foreva! But, to cover anyone who HASN'T read those stories or seen this film, please know that I'm going to give away some stuff here that COULD ruin someone's movie-going experience. So, what I'm saying here is, if you haven't seen Alice In Wonderland yet (which I think you TOTALLY SHOULD) and don't want anything "spoiled", quit reading right here. OMG!!! What a great movie!!! And the special effects were INCREDIBLE!!! Even the set design and wardrobe were AMAZING! Whoever cast this movie did a FANTASTIC JOB, except.... I really felt that the entire character of the White Queen did nothing for the movie. Today's the day!!! Disney's Alice In Wonderland Opens today!!! In honor of the big day... check out my sparklies!!! The color of glitter polish that's featured here is called Absolutely Alice. Based on the AMAZING flicker slide show that I just watched... Disney has won the macabre Alice race! I have to admit... I've been unfailingly loyal to the American McGee's game adaptation that has been rumored to be released FOR YEARS!!! Sarah Michelle Gellar was slated to play the sick, demented, dark Alice and I was convinced that nothing could compare. I told myself that Tim Burton's take on Alice would be a sad attempt at best to "scare up" the children's classic. But who am I kidding? I have known for years that Alice in Wonderland was meant for the macabre! The original story was always kind of spooky with falling down dark holes and drinking tonics and grinning cats and a queen that wants to decapitate everyone! Disney and Tim Burton didn't have to work very hard to make a "dark Alice". This story really shouldn't have been a children's classic at all now that I really think about it! So until the American McGee's Alice adapta...

WHEN!!!!??? UGH!!!!! I want to see this movie soooo bad and have been hearing that it is going to be released since 2005! I can honestly say though, that my hopes are up this time. I checked the Internet Movie Database and saw promotional pix for the first time... yay! And they have also updated the release date to 2010. The last time I checked, the release date was 2008. Maybe, just maybe it's finally happening!?! I love the game and know that the movie is going to be every bit as good (has to be with all the time that they're putting into it!). I would SO love to know who's going to be The Cheshire Cat !!! I have loved Alice in Wonderland stories my whole life and own 4 versions of the movie.... yes, including the Disney animated feature ! I cannot wait to add this version to my collection. A scary verson of Alice in Wonderland.... I'm not really into scary movies, but am totally into Alice in Wonderland... oh, this is going to be great! We are all mad here!
