three muses challenge

I'm busy working on my Practical Magic party post today but here's a quickie for The Three Muses weekly challenge. Sorry it's a day late. I forgot to post it yesterday! The theme this week is NUMBERS. I found a cute vintage pic that just made me smile. Take a look.

Have a lovely evening!

three muses art challenge

Happy September!!
And Happy Spring to everyone down under.

This is for The Three Muses weekly art challenge. This week's theme is BACK TO NATURE. When I think of nature I think of camping so my collage turned out to be more of a scrapbook page that includes a photo from my very favorite camping trip ever.

Three years ago we went camping at Big Sur (California) in November. It was absolutely beautiful. The ground was covered with a blanket of fallen leaves in all the gorgeous shades of autumn. It was cool and quiet since less people camp in the fall. The nights are cold and perfect for gathering around a glowing campfire. There's nothing I love more than being nestled in a dark forest of towering redwood trees, looking up at the stars until I can't keep my eyes open any longer then climbing into a great big tent and listening to the crickets sing all night long. And later the smell of crisp smoky morning autumn air when you climb out of your tent just after dawn to light another campfire.....pure bliss.

the three muses challenge

The Three Muses theme this week is THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF ZETTIS. I've been intrigued by this whimsical art form for a while and I've done some Zetti-like doodles in my journal. But I haven't created anything I'd consider a real Zetti yet so I really liked this challenge. I learned a lot more about Zettis and it's originator, Teesha Moore this week. Now that I've discovered this new world I'm ready to make more!

Here is 'Fly With Me'.

I created this on a 4x5 1/2 Bingo card with images collected from an old children's book, magazines and maybe an old calendar. Then I finished it digitally after I scanned it.

This is an earlier Zetti type page I made for my journal. I don't think I really knew what I was doing but I had lots of fun making it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today I'm grateful for....

Air conditioning!! It was 105!

the three muses challenge

This week's challenge theme for The Three Muses is WHEELS. It took me a while to come up with my version of wheels until I found a vintage photo of a woman on a bicyle. I played with it and added things here and there. You can see it even inspired me to redo my blog!

Scrapbook elements from Digital Scrapbook Place.
Vintage photo and Boticelli's Venus from Google search.

Today I'm grateful for:

Recovering after eating something that made me really sick last night!

three muses challenge

Another challenge from The Three Muses. This week's theme is DOOR.

An old forgotten door. What wondrous dreams lie just behind it?

This was another fun challenge and I didn't really think of a particular
message or story when I created it. Just a mood inspired by
the images I gathered together.

Most images are from Digital Scrapbook Place.
Door and woman from Google search.

3 muses challenge

This week's theme for The Three Muses challenge is "Love Is Blind".

I worked on this all week and did several versions I wasn't really
happy with. I put tails on them at one point (she was a cat and
he was a fox), didn't love it so I gave him a troll head...
Still not too happy with it. Finally I just did a literal interpretation
and covered their eyes! And I had fun layering the elements
and playing with the colors and hues.

3 muses art challenge 'odd bird'

The theme for this week's collage challenge at The Three Muses is 'ODD BIRD". For some reason I was really excited to do this one and I had it done a week ago. Maybe it's because I think I'm a bit of an odd bird myself! I found a vintage family photo and really just had fun with it. Here's my ODD BIRD.

three muses challenge "mail art"

Here's my "Mail Art" themed piece for The Three Muses. I used actual items I made. The envelope mail art was made with items I found while visiting my mom this week and the ATC card is one I already traded earlier. I also used one of my vintage postcards and made that the background. Finally I added a few digital elements to finish the collage.

three muses challenge and snail mail enthusiast update

I'm joining up with the The Three Muses Challenge today.
The theme is TRAVEL.

Decided to take a flying carpet to see old Paris!

I think I just ate glitter with my toast!

Finishing up the card for my Snail Mail Enthisiast challenge
at Sinderella's Studio. I decided to add glitter...lots of glitter
then went to grab my toast whilst absentmindedly admiring
my work. It seemed grittier than usual, with a hint of oh
maybe latex? Glitter...great on paper. Vile on toast!

the three muses art challenge

A double post today because I'm joining up with The Three Muses weekly art challenge. This week's theme is 'rust'. I used an image of a New Orleans shotgun house. I love these old houses and  find something beautiful in their weathering decay. Click on the picture for a larger image.
