Always take the scenic route

Yesterday afternoon DH said to me ... come on, we're going for a walk ... I could handle that I thought to myself. Jumped in his truck and went over to the estuary. First time we have walked over there and we walked the whole circuit - said at the start it would take an hour, so I thought, right-oh, yep give or take a little bit. It was blowing a gale, sun was shining and it was more than a little warm. Tell you what, out of the wind it was stinking hot ... holy ska-moley.

Grabbed the camera before we went - good move on my part. Very enjoyable walk and passed quite a few people out for a leisurely stroll as well.

A lot of the walk is a work in progress, there has been quite a large area that has had a board walk built, so that you actually walk over water ... sounds good doesn't it?

There has been a lot of native planting, so give it a couple of years, perhaps even months, the plant life will flourish, I'm sure of it.

It was brilliant.

So today I had some pics developed, well that's what you do when you take pics, and I take quite a few of them from time to time.

So I whipped up this layout tonight to put up in the gallery over at Country Papercraft ... tonight is the last night for loading any of the layouts for the cyber crop.

The challenge, a 9 grid layout ... four pics, four pps and whatever else ... so I dug out some Jenni Bowlin paper [background], I've used BG Ambrosia papers and a BG Cupcake paper as well, used some new My Minds Eye rub-ons, gave the scissors a work out again on some more leaves, threw in a little handjournalling and a few brads and there you have it.

Now taking pics with these colours after dark does not make for a flash photo of a layout ... it's quite grainy in places and in real life, the pics are brilliant ... but there's not much I can do about that now, can I ... leaving things to the last minute ... never mind!

Right then, my bed is calling out to me. So on that note ... night ...

This didn't do its thing for some reason ... perhaps this time ...

Revlon ...

I was in buying another bottle of foundation this week and I am a Revlon girl through and through ... and this little bit of brightness caught my eye and had to come home with me.

A limited edition, smaller sized bottle of nail polish ... looks flash on the toes girl ... did that yesterday - ROFLMAO.

Lots of new colours in a limited release [apparently].

I'm a sucker for nail polish for the toes over Summer and this one being a smaller bottle might actually be empty by the end of Summer ... might not either. Time will tell!!!

Couldn't resist sharing - lol!

Eye candy

I've been playing with the girls over the ditch this weekend.

Country Papercraft have had virtual cyber crop - and I've had a ball.
They've actually had a real live fair dinkum scrap retreat on as well and for those of us that
are more than a little geographically challenged, they thought of us too and had a cyber crop for us.

First layout is based on one of Lynlee's sketches and has hidden journalling under the purple tag
and we had to use the word 'just' somewhere in the title.

A big thank you to Jane ... for the tag and the purple embossed butterfly, they were in an envelope of goodies that
I received as a birthday RAK this week ... AWESOME.

And I used the paper that I received as an extra in the kit from Scrappin Patch this week,
or perhaps it was last week, can't remember to be honest!

But it actually came out of the pizza box and was used ... thank you ladies.

Next up ... a card based loosely on Leonie's card sketch and I have used a new wee toy instead of my scissors ... one Heidi Swapp distresser tool ... what a brilliant wee toy it is ... thank you Beverley [another birthday gift] - I received an envelope in the mail on Saturday - woo hoo ... love it.

Then I put this layout together ... it had to have one photo, three patterned papers and stickers ... well you can see all three on this one ... I love this line of BG papers and this layout was put together in no time and it probably shows. I'm thinking about putting this layout onto a canvas and hanging it on the wall - time will tell. I have used the silk flowers that came from another birthday gift ... talk about recycling things ... ROFLMAO.

I did put together another card based on a sketch but it's not appearing on my blog post for some reason. Looks like it's missing in action girls - ROFLMAO - quite like the way that it turned out.

Heaps of other challenges were on offer and I plan on completing another few over the next few days, time permitting.

Hopefully I will play a little more today in my scrap room ... haven't quite finished a layout that I have had on the go for over a week, but if I ever get around to it ... I've got lots of room to tweak it and it could go in the weekend challenge with the girls at Sketchbook - still on my to do list.

So in between family reunion luncheons [yesterday] and visitors for tea last night that didn't leave until close to midnight ... I still managed to find time for a little scrapping, not much housework though, well sometimes you have to get your priorities right people.

So on that note ... I had better jump in the shower, get myself dressed and ready to face the day ... perhaps a cup of nice coffee beforehand might be a good idea.

Enjoy your Labour Day everyone ... I'm sure I could do this three day weekend more often ... truly.

A little eye candy

I was in the bath tub on Friday night still trying to shake my migraine/headache ...
feeling a little bit dull around the edges and I was thinking scrapbooking - funny that ...
being creative was never going to actually happen on Friday night as such, but I was still thinking about it ... lol.
So come Saturday I decided to have a wee play and a wee play I had ...
so a few minutes here and there on Saturday and Sunday and last night and this is what I came up with this layout

... now trust me on this one ... this looks way better in real life ...

the colours are much sharper and the photos aren't blurred in any way, shape or form ...
and this layout is SO NOT going in my album.

I am going to splash out and buy a frame to put this one on the wall in my scrap room ...

I love the colours ... I'm a BG girl at heart, throw in a little Prima, a little MM journalling pad and the leaves ...
and I'm a happy camper. I painted my butterfly blue and then used Glimmermist on top of it ...
the stitching comes in the form of rub-ons.

This one is going into the gallery with the girls at Sketchbook for Layle's celebrity challenge, get those scissors working and cut out patterned paper ... so I cut out some leaves, more leaves and still wasn't done, so I needed a few more - ROFLMAO.

The scissors also did the distressing thing on my BG papers.

Love the colours of these BG papers. So there you have it ... it might not be everyone's cup of tea and I must admit, it does look a little busy ... but I love this one ...

I've been more than a little creative and I've got ideas rolling around in my head, [edited to read ... not bed - OMG ... where did that come from - ROFLMAO]
well actually they are fair flying to be honest ...

I will be putting together another layout, something similar but in a different BG paper scheme ....

I actually played around with each one as a 6x6 layout with the intention of making it a 12 x 12
- if that makes sense.

So on that note ... will leave you with it.

And if you haven't already popped into my wee angelic friend's blog to catch up on her news today, I suggest you do ... woo hoo go Angel!!! Then ... oopsy nearly, nope, I'm not going to tell you ... go and have a looksy!!!

Look at these

hopefully this link will take you to these wee goodies ...

Okay, I'm a sucker for the Bazzill just the edge cardstock strips ... but woo hoo ... have a looksy at these wee treasures ... these are gorgeous and they are even more gorgeous in real life ... I've just had some of these land on my doorstep today ... and I'm liking the look of these ... can see my paints coming out for an airing ...

Check out just the edge II - you might have to scroll down a little on the page that this link will take you to ...

Scrappin' Patch

I'm about to head into my messy scrap room for a little play, but before I go ... a big thank you ... I had two envelopes in my mail box when I got home tonight ... a big thank you to Vicki and to Lianne ... thank you for so very much ladies ... I received some more scrapping goodies to play with - woo hoo ... awesome!!! and I haven't seen any of them before ... but I will share with everyone else when I have a play ... wow, so totally spoiled.

So thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart ... truly ... totally spoiled.

Another year older

yep ... that would be moi!!!

Yesterday was the day ... another age number turned over.

Yep siree, I can say that I was more than a little spoilt to be honest and I had a super duper day.

I woke up to find gifts on the bench ... and I read this ...

To my Wife,
Our Love is forever

I wonder if you know how much
I love being married to you.
Sometimes I get so caught up
with the everyday details of life,
I forget just how lucky I am
to be sharing it with you.
And then there are times
when we're apart
that I think about how much
I love you,
but for some reason,
I don't share my feelings with you.
Every time I think about
all we've been through together,
how much we've grown,
I'm so proud of us ...
so happy for us ...
so thankful our love
is forever.

So just in case
I haven't told you
in a while,
I love being married to you.
I wouldn't have it
any other way.

Renee Duvall

This was the verse on my birthday card ... have you still got dry eyes ... I didn't yesterday and now I have just reread it, I still don't. What a lovely verse ... a right wee tear jerker.

I also had a DVD to play on the computer and it was gorgeous ...

A double layered box of Continental choccies, so I'm thinking I am going to be doing a little more walking working that lot off and there was yet another parcel. I also received a 7" digitor [I think] electronic photo album - you know what I mean ... you put in your memory card and it continuously plays your photos ... very nice it is too ... totally spoiled. Mr Friz had grabbed one of the memory cards from when Mom and Dad and my sister and BIL were over here ... totally unedited ... so what I am going to have to do at some stage is go through some of my edited pics and put them on another memory stick just to play on my album ... very cool - thanks babe.

NanJules, Ash and her two wee mites came to visit yesterday afternoon and I was spoilt with scrapping gifts and a book and I've also got a parcel in my freezer ... ummmmmmmmmm ... wanna know what it is ... ummmmmmmmmmm ... let me think about whether I want to share ... oh okay, my arm has been twisted ... I've got WHITEBAIT!!! Woo hoo ... what an extra special treat for moi!!!! DS wanted to know if 'we' were having that for lunch today ... as if buddy, as if !!!! That parcel has got 'my' name on it people, 'my' name ... ROFLMAO. Thank you Julie.

Now before I move on ... one of the two little mites that came to visit yesterday is 'tiny' ... she is doll-like - I kid you not ... I asked Ash ... where is the rest of her ... this tiny little baby came to visit and yes I had cuddles, but she spent more time lying on my dining room table on a blanket and I kept staring at her and I was just so amazed at the size of her ... her little feet are the size of DH's thumb, well actually his thumb was a little bigger ... she is just so tiny ... it's been a long time since I have cuddled anything that small - talk about dainty ...

And onto the birthday happenings again ...

I opened a parcel that arrived in my mail box a couple of weeks ago, that had remained unopened all that time ... a birthday parcel from Trace ... so thank you Trace for my birthday parcel ... Christmas stamps ... very nice they are too!!!

Lots of birthday cards ... the postie must have been wondering what's been going on at our house ... with the influx of mail.

My sister Tracy sent me scrapping supplies, lots of goodies that I haven't seen before ... and in amongst the goodies, a Prima embossed chippie album - very noice, very noice indeed!!!

I had orchids dropped off on Friday, now sitting in a vase on the dining room table.

We all went out for dinner last night to the Workingmen's Club - I didn't have to cook, so that was a bonus, a bigger bonus, was that I didn't have to clean up either.

And today I went out for lunch to the Cabbage Tree - sat outside and dined and it was beautiful ... lovely day outside - in fact I do believe that my neck may have seen a little too much sun, it is a little sore - lol. A lovely relaxing way to spend a few hours on a Sunday ... might have to talk DH into dining out there for lunch before the Summer is over ... delightful.

My cell phone has been beeping all weekend with incoming birthday texts, the phone has been ringing and I've received lots of emails as well - so thank you to everyone that has sent me birthday wishes ... woo hoo!!!

So now I've revealed my birthday treats ... told you I was totally spoiled, yep I feel like a princess!!!!

I must go and stuff a chook or two for tonight's dinner and get them in the oven, even though right at this particular point in time, eating is the last thing I feel like doing ... I really just feel like blobbing ... lol ... but it was my birthday yesterday, not today, so I suppose I have to feed the boys tonight ... crikey!!!

I started playing with a layout on Friday night and I aim to finish it at some stage today - all going well ... and this one I'm seriously thinking of framing for the wall ... all will be revealed when it is finished.

To all of you ... enjoy lazing away your Sunday afternoon.
Later,
M

P.S. It was another scrapping buddy's birthday recently and she now has to tick the box 45 - 49 ... ROFLMAO ... she knows who she is ... that would be 'Vicki' ... so for another year, I can at least still tick the 40-44 ... lol

Another Wednesday

has rolled around again.

It's time to woo hoot again ... the weeks just fly by these days ...

Still doing the walking ... was lucky enough to be dropped off after work tonight part way home ... so my walk was 25-30 minutes ... a far better option I think ... I wasn't so totally buggered when I got home.
An hour is probably a bit much some days to be honest. But I'm still doing it ... and proud of myself to boot.

School is back and that's a big enough woo hoot in itself ... yahoo!!!

Yesterday morning I earned a few brownie points. Caught the bus to work and was sitting minding my own business when a young lady went to get on the bus. She had her money in a snaplock bag and when she got it out, a $20 flew out of her hand [and she didn't realise it had happened]. I ran off the bus saying to the bus driver as I got off ... I'm coming back, don't leave without me type thing ... I chased a $20 note down the road, I kid you not ... kept thinking, please stay there, don't fly away any further ... please!!!! Finally nabbed it, ran back to the bus and said lady was still talking to the bus driver ... she had no idea ... she was focussed on the fact that she was supposed to get $5 back in change from buying her monthly bus ticket. The bus driver told her what I had done ... and so she kept turning around throughout the ride ... saying thank you ... thank you ... thank you ...

Good deed done for the day.

Another woo hoot - and a not such a woo hoot.

Learning to play with Picasa2 ... well teaching myself. I'm a bit of a techno klutz really ... give me something to type up - not a problem ... learning about other techno stuff and sometimes I can honestly say, that I don't have a bleedin' clue - well at least I am honest!!!

Took some awesome pics of the kids and have been having a play with them.

Must remember ... to play with the 'copy' and NOT, I repeat, NOT the original ... cos said original is no longer an original when one plays - okay, some things you learn the hard way - ROFLMAO ... sometimes though, this is NOT funny!!! Need I say more ???

But ... trying to make a layout smaller to upload to a gallery ... NOPE ... NOT a happening thing.

Mish from Country Papercraft across the ditch has given me a few pointers ... so this weekend, might have to spend a little time playing.

And my last woo hoot for the week ... the days are drawing out and it really is quite noticeable. Okay, so Mother Nature hasn't been playing ball with us lately. We have had extreme winds, read gale force winds here people and shitty weather ...
but I must admit it has been nice with the days drawing out ... it's still really light outside and it is nearly 8pm ...

Roll on Summer ...

A N D ...

Show and tell before I go ... this layout is of the not so wee fella in my life. I used the September monthly kit that I bought from over the ditch from the girls at Country Papercraft ... the rules again ... you can only use the contents of the monthly kit if you want to upload for the monthly competition, but you can add ink, paint, stamping and a few others things, had to check that I was allowed hand sewing ... but no other embellishments etc. So out came the Cuttlebug to keep with the circle theme and my trusty Fiskars circle punches. These pics were taken on DS's 14th birthday last month and wouldn't you know it, he would NOT smile for me ... little toe rag - all in all I like the way the layout ended up. Just for the record we did the height thing ... I might have already said in a previous post, can't remember - he is a smidgin under 6 foot or if you look at it the other way, he is a smidgin over 5.11 ... I guess it depends on the way you think. LOL.

Little fella

Yep, he was once ... a little fella

Found these pics of DS - Pixi photos sitting in a photo album - so thought to myself I would have a little play with them.

And I did ...

The weekend challenge with the girls at Sketchbook

Handstitching - check

White space - check

Flowers - check

Don't have a problem with any of those ingredients ... funny that ...

These pics were taken when DS was between 7 and 8 weeks ... he was a wee cutie, very bright, very alert [read downright adorable here] ... still is really, but now he is just a little bigger than that ... in fact a smidgin over 5' 11", or you could say a smidgin under 6' ... whatever ... but definitely still growing ...

Now I might be a little techno challenged at times and I admit just that ... but once you have actually got the pic on the computer, I may not be able to get it down to under 500 kb yet, but I'm working on it ... but I've gotta love that ... blog this button staring at me ... easy peasy and yep, that's me saying that ...

Have enjoyed reading the SENZ reports being blogged around the countryside by some of my scrapping buddies ... sounds as though you girls had a ball - a little shopping, a little creativity and a whole lot of yabbering ... lol ... hey, that's what it's all about!!!

The button that I can find just like on my camera ... well that would be the foliage button

and this photo is a true, a la naturale photo with no editing on Picasa ... just the way it is sitting in my camera ... love this pic.

HELP

I've been playing with a photo ... this is DS - filtered, cropped, softened or something ... 10 years ago ... true!!!

How do I get the quality of this photo up size-wise - does that make sense ... the size of the file itself is showing too small and I doubt that it would print off properly - it's only showing as being tiny ... not good. I'm using Picasa2.

HELP???? PLEASE!!!

Had to share this ...

It was sitting in my inbox this morning when I logged on ...

The Spoiled under 30 Crowd:

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking 25 miles to school every morning ... uphill BOTH ways …yadda, yadda, yadda.

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way I was going to lay a bunch of garbage like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!

1) When I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!

2) There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter ... with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

3) There were no MP3's or Napsters! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike all the way to the record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and mess it all up!

4) We didn't have any fancy Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

5) And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances mister!

6) We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like “Space Invaders” and “Asteroids” and the graphics were horrible! Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

7) When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with big hair or a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just plain out of luck!

8) Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no onscreen menu! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on!And there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons!

9) And we didn't have microwaves…If we wanted to heat something up, we had to use the stove or go build a fire...imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing or a pan with HOT oil and Real popcorn kernels and shake it all over the stove forever.

10) When we were on the phone with our friends and our parents walked-in…we were stuck to the wall with a cord, a 7-foot cord that ran to the phone - not to the phone base, the actual phone. We barely had enough length to sit on the floor and still be able to twirl the phone cord in our fingers. If you suddenly had to go to the bathroom - guess what we had to do.....hang up and talk to them later.

That's exactly what I'm talking about!

You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled.

You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!

Regards,

“The Over 30 Crowd”

... priceless!!!!!

Playing ... again

Okay, so I'm not 100% sure what it is I actually did to this pic, but I've played ...

It was a pic that I have seriously cropped.

and I now love it ... just thought that I would share this one as well !

I think I'm going to like playing with this Picasa ... well at least until I get some pics printed off ... lol.

I've been

playing a little with Picasa ... first attempt

This is going to be like hard work ... lol ... new computer, new programmes ... any idea what on earth I'm doing - ummmmmmmmmmmmm ... not much - well at least I'm honest!!!

This calls for a coffee [or something] ...

Wonder how much oooomppphhhh I lose size wise playing with photos in Picasa ... time will tell I guess when it comes to printing them.

I had a 'special' in my inbox from Snapfish this morning ... has anyone used them, is it easy ... or am I best to just go with the flow and print them locally ... ummmmmmmmmmm ... I wonder if it is worth the hassle?!?!?!?!

Later,
M

P.S. still blowing a gale outside ... but I can see blue skies ... but crikey it is windy.

Just checked, I'm a little askew ... but I can handle it ... talk about a learning curve!!! Technology - grrrhhhhhhhhh!!! no crick neck though ... lol.

The weather

here in the deep south for the better part of the last week has been utter crap ... think gale force winds, think rain, think gale force winds, think rain ... then don't just think it people ... it's been a real life happening thing, day in and day out ... not pretty.

I'm over it ... truly!!! It's supposed to be Spring ... hello - Mother Nature ... are you listening to me ... S P R I N G ... NOT ... W I N T E R ... gimme sunshine ... blue skies and lots of heat!!! Pretty please ... go on - we know you really want to!!!

and I'm ready and waiting!!!

So ... yucky weather has meant not a whole lot of walking has been going on ... my car has had to come out of the garage ... lol.

Last night though ... DH said come on ... so after tea, we went walkabout ... now it was more than a little on the cold side and that meant it was not pleasant ... 25 minutes later we were back home ... but hey, 25 minutes of walking is better than a whole lot of sitting one one's backside, doing a whole lot of ummmmmmmmmmm ... nothing!!! LOL.

Mind you ... 25 minutes of scrapping in my nice warm scrap room versus 25 minutes of walking outside in conditions that weren't really ideal ... ummmmmmmm ... we won't go there!!!

And tonight I was proud of myself ... I changed into my trackies and gymshoes and walked home after work ... the skies looked more than a little menacing and I thought to myself, get over it ... you can do it ... and I did!!!! Worst case scenario I thought to myself I could always ring DH and say ... darling ... please come and pick me up ... but I didn't ... and wait for it ... 57 minutes later ... in the door. It was close though. A few spits of rain 4-5 minutes from home, but I coped ... lol. But only just.

Right then ... before I sign off for the night ... to all my scrapping buddies that have gathered in Wellington for the weekend for SENZ ... I hope that you are all having a blast. I'm sure that you have been a little creative today already, talked the talk and enjoyed a little comraderie ... and I AM SO TOTALLY JEALOUS ... but hey ... it was at the end of the day my choice ...

Okay, so I'm thinking that I may have made the wrong one ...

One down ...

four to go ... working days that is.

So I thought that I would start the working week off well and I caught the bus ... yep I did ... but ... Monday's are rubbish days and not only is today Monday [funny that], but it is also school holidays and rubbish day ... so 'me', that's right, 'I' had to put out the rubbish, cos I was the only one out of bed before the collection truck would have swung by ... now dragging a wheelie bin across the lawn in high heeled shoes is NOT a good look ... carrying a recycling bin across the lawn in high heeled shoes is NOT a good look and getting wetter by the minute because the stupid hole thing in the recycling bin is leaking out water is so NOT a good look either ... must have been a stupid male that designed the recycling bin ... ROFLMAO ...

So by the time said wheelie bin is out on the street, facing the right way - duh me and the recycling bin is sitting nicely beside it ... I run across said lawn in high heeled shoes to shut the garage door and to wash icky hands, grab keys, handbag and carry bag and head down the street cursing as I look at the time on my cell phone thinking to myself, don't let me miss the bus ... please.

End of street corner, ready to start crossing the road, and wouldn't you know it ... here comes the bus, well by this stage I am running across said road, two lanes each way road and traffic ... well I remembered seeing a sign last week saying something along the lines that you can flag down the bus anywhere on the route, so you guessed it ... someone you know ummmmmmmm ... flagged down the bus.

I get on the bus, dump all my stuff on a seat and fossick around in my handbag for some loose change for the bus driver ... a passenger on the bus pipes up ... something along the lines of ... just like on that ad on TV, you really can run in high heels to catch a bus ... I SO DID NOT KNOW WHERE TO LOOK ... I paid the bus driver and sat down ... I was more than a little embarrassed.

Being chauffeured to work [ROFLMAO] I thought to myself I would have a quick read of a few pages ... well that didn't happen ... not a good choice of seats this morning on my part and man-alive could that bus driver ummmmmmmmmmm ... drive that bus!!!

This morning I would NOT have been able to read said book, keep an eye on two bags and hold on for dear life ... some of those corners ... whoa ... and that's all I will say on the subject.

Big day at the office, extremely big day at the office, but that's okay ... 5 pm rolled around and I was ready to rock ... oops ... ready to walk ... lol. Left the office at 5.08 pm today and 59 minutes later I was walking up the drive ... bladder was ready to burst - yeah, I know, too much information ... but just as well I was four minutes quicker than Friday - ROFLMAO ... well it may not have been funny ...

On that note ... enjoy your evening all.

Finally ...

it's finished ... I've had some papers and stuff sitting on my scrap mat all week and haven't done a whole lot with them ... in fact ... ZILCH ...

But the weekend challenge with the girls at Sketchbook came up, the ingredients, distressing - check - love my scissors on the edge of my patterned paper atm ... wonder how long it will take before the novelty wears off ... lol; chipboard alphas - yep and a scalloped shape - yep, can do that too - one MR scalloped shape thing.

Throw in a couple of stitches, a pearl or two, a few beads [hence the close up shot people], and a little tulle and I quite simply adore this layout ...

I had to send it to Mrs R though to upload into the gallery for me ... why - cos the camera programme isn't on the new computer yet and I can crop with what's on there, but I can't seem to downsize ... I'm sure there is a button there somewhere, but I'm over looking for it ... in fact, new computer or not, I'm just about over this wireless mouse and wireless keyboard ... you can be typing away and then ... ummmmmmmmmmmm ... nothing ... so you have to move and push backwards and forwards the keyboard and DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT THE STUPID BLOODY MOUSE ... one minute you can see your cursor and then ... ummmmmmmmmmmmm ... it's gone ... and you can't see it ... now for someone who's fingers can fair fly across the keyboard, this is so frustrating, like you wouldn't believe ... and some!!!!
Can you tell that I'm kinda over it at the moment ... cos I am!!! So I will stop bleating about it and go and hide away in my rather messy scrap room ...
Later,
M
P.S. hope that you found a little time yesterday to make a card or two [or three of four] for card making day ... I did!!!

Weekend ...

another one has rolled around again and I'm more than a little pleased about that ... a huge week at work this week and seriously ... not enough hours in the day.

I'm going to woo hoot [again] ... I caught the bus to work again yesterday ... still a novelty and there were a few more people on the bus to boot ...

But ... what I took with me as extras on the bus yesterday I actually got to use last night ... my trackies and gymshoes ... yep, I walked home from work last night ... didn't leave the office until 5.26 pm and 63 minutes later I walked up my drive ... must admit that last however far it was, knocked the stuffing out of me ... I was totally shattered when I got home and I have decided that I really need to empty some of the crap out of my handbag and other bag that I was carrying, cos they were more than a little bit annoying [read heavy here] walking home ... ROFLMAO ... but I did it ... I don't know that I will take a hike like that too often ... but it will happen again.

Not a lot else happened though last night, was NOT creative at all, played a little on the computer and watched the rugby on the TV and that was about it really.

Today is another day ... and before I go much further, birthday greetings to my friend and scrapping buddy Julie [aka NanJules] ... happy birthday buddy and hopefully you have had a wonderful day and have been spoilt rotten.

I had a visitor this morning, my scrappy buddy Mich came to visit with her two little people and they are totally little cuties ... I managed to turn the TV on and put said TV on a channel suitable for little people, well they started off watching the Wiggles and were happy little campers. For me to actually get the TV and Sky channels working was a BIGGIE for me, cos as a rule I can so NOT work the half a dozen remotes that sit beside DH's lazyboy chair ... truly. I'm the one that normally has to yell out to someone to come and change the TV channel ... DH you would have been proud of me ... I was chuffed with me ... truly - lol.

So Mich and I had a good wee natter ... I was rather rude though and blocked my ears to all talk of SENZ next weekend ... blinkers on ... oops ... ear muffs that should be - ROFLMAO.

I'm sure that the girls will have a blast next weekend ... I'll be thinking of you all ... true!!!

Hopefully you all had a good drive home this afternoon and weren't buffeted on the open road too much ... cos I tell you what people, it is seriously windy out there ...

Then it was time for me to head away and do a few chores ...

So while I was out and about this afternoon I popped into see Julie to say happy birthday, I visited Spotlight and came home with a storage box [OTP project in the making], swung passed Miss Meg's and now have the latest and greatest offerings from BG - in the form of Urban Prairie - very 'noice' girls, very 'noice' indeedy!!!

So when I finally make it back out to the kitchen again, I will cook tea and then people, I am going to be creative ... I've been looking at the same layout sitting on my desk since Monday night, still nothing has been stuck down ... but tonight ... well it's going to happen!!!

On that note, enjoy your evening.
Keep warm and dry.

And it's that time of the week again ...

it's Woo Hoot Wednesday and I'm woo hooting ... woo hoot!!!

Just cos I can ... lol

Woo hoots this week are ...

Let me think ...

I had a pizza box of goodies sitting on the bench waiting for me to open tonight when I got home ... it was calling out to me ... open me, open me ... go on, you know you want to ... lol. Thank you Adrienne ... some more goodies for me to play with. Okay so I admit I love shopping for scrapping supplies and it is so easy to do on line ... someone you know doesn't have a whole lot of will power. I see these things and decide they would be better in my stash ... lol!!!

It's the school holidays and I'm woo hooting, cos I don't have to run around here and there after work to pick up someone I know from his sporting activities ... it's great to know that I don't have to rush, well not so much as usual.

Now are you ready for this one ???? Eh? Eh? Eh?

I caught the bus to work this morning ... and I'm woo hooting. Now there will be those of you that will think I have totally lost the plot woo hooting about catching a bus. But it truly is a novelty. I haven't caught a public bus like I did this morning for probably close to I would imagine 20 years ... so believe you me ... it is a novelty.

I had plans of walking home from work tonight, but the weather was totally against me and so went that idea, so I caught the bus home again too ... woo hoo, go me ...

Now I don't plan on catching the bus too often by any means of the imagination ... but I figured I would give it a go ... I didn't have to pick up or drop off the young fella, so I figured if I was ready this morning in time, I would at least attempt to make my way to the bus stop, which I did ... hoping that weather gods were going to play nicely - boy-oh-boy the sky looked more than a little menacing.

The bus went tiki touring down streets that I have never been down ... okay, so when and if I ever become a regular on the bus service, it would probably be rather relaxing ... but it wasn't relaxing as such for me today, because I was too busy gawking at everything around me ... sad, but true.

Might have to keep that bus receipt and scrap it me thinks - how sad is that ... didn't have the camera with me tho - probably just as well ... I might even had to admit that I would draw the line at taking a pic of one of our buses ... but hey, on second thought ... just jesting.

And another woo hoo, my SIL is over from Aussie atm and she called in tonight after dinner ... it was great catching up with her.

Right then, on that note ... might disappear into my scrap room for a wee while ... I'm still looking at the same layout on my scrap desk that has been there for quite a few days - it is so NOT doing it for me atm ... we will see.

Before I go ... a big thank you to Trace ... I received a gorgeous RAK from Trace - rose bath salts and let me share something with you all ... the salts smell divine ... and yep, I've had a soak in the tub ... very nice and so relaxing!!!

On that note, that would be good night from me.
Take care everyone and keep warm.

How about another one ...

Hi there and welcome back. Yep, I'm on a roll. I realised that I hadn't shared this layout - another one ... White, green and orang...
