Planes, Trains and Automobiles Challenge

Hello, Friends! It's Kathy here, and it's my honor to be hosting this Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Challenge. Summer is a great time to travel. For this challenge, create a vintage or shabby chic travel themed project. Think folded maps, cruise ships, road signs, compasses, passports, trains, planes or automobiles. As long as your project features a travel theme, you're headed in the right direction.

The winner will earn the chance of a Guest Designer spot here at Frilly and Funkie, and everyone who enters and follows the rules will go into the draw for the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. In addition, the Design Team will select three further outstanding entries and those creators will receive a Top Pick badge to display on their blogs!

The guidelines for entering are simple; create a new vintage or shabby chic project following the challenge theme, link it below to your post (not just your blog) and also include a link back to this challenge in your post. You can combine our challenge with up to 10 challenges (including this one) to be in with a chance of winning. If you are entering through a public forum (such as Instagram) you'll need to include the words Frilly and Funkie Challenge. Also, please be sure to turn off your Word Verification so our Design Team can leave comments on your blogs. Make sure you follow these rules as unfortunately we have had to eliminate entrants from the prize draws in the past.

As always our fabulous designers have created some inspiration for you. This week the gals on the Funkie side of the Design Team are sharing these amazing creations (click on each image for a closer look).

In the Good Old Summertime Challenge

Hello, Friends! It's Kathy here, ready to host another fabulous challenge on the Frilly and Funkie Blog. Let's see what the challenge theme is for the next two weeks, shall we?

In the Good Old Summertime; it's time for those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. Whether you vacation at the beach, in the mountains, or enjoy a relaxing "Staycation" in your own back yard, your challenge is to create a vintage or shabby chic project that shows what you love best about summer. Use summer colors in your project. Be sure to tell us in your post what you love about summer, and how you've represented that in your project.

At the end of the challenge the team will choose their top four picks. Our first place winner will be invited to join us for a Guest Designer spot here at Frilly and Funkie. Three additional talented participants will receive badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and adheres to the challenge guidelines will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

The guidelines for entering are simple; create a new vintage or shabby chic project following the challenge theme, link it below to your post (not just your blog) and include a link back to this challenge in your post.

Let's see what inspiration the Funkie side of the team has prepared for us. To get all of the details of these lovely projects just click on the blog link above each photo, and you will be taken directly to each designer's blog.

Home for the Holidays!

Hello, Friends! It's Kathy here, and I'm thrilled to be hosting the FINAL Frilly and Funkie challenge for 2016. We are just a few short weeks away from Christmas! Can you believe it? With that in mind, I chose the theme Home for the Holidays for this go round.

Let's get ready to Deck the Halls by creating some home decor for the holiday season. You can make centerpieces, wreaths, banners, ornaments, wall hangings, or little vignettes... basically anything BUT a card for this challenge. If you don't celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, then just make some home decor with a wintry theme.

The team will choose their top four picks with the winner being invited to join us in a Guest DT spot here at Frilly and Funkie and the next three will receive badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and follows the rules will be entered into the draw to have the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

The guidelines for entering are simple; create a new vintage or shabby chic project following the challenge theme, link it below to your post (not just your blog) and also include a link back to this challenge in your post. You can combine our challenge with up to 10 challenges (including this one) to be in with a chance of winning. Make sure you follow these rules as unfortunately we have had to eliminate entrants from the prize draws in the past when they have entered too many other challenges. If you are entering through a public forum (such as Instagram) please add the blog challenge address. Also, please be sure to turn off your Word Verification so our Design Team can leave comments on your blogs.

It's now time to take a peek at the wonderful home decor projects the Funkie side of the team have created for you:

**********Week #1 Post**********

Hello and welcome to a new Frilly and Funkie challenge!  Donna here, as your hostess, and for this challenge the theme is April in Paris!  Think Spring in Paris...outdoor markets and cafes, daffodils, tulips and lavender in bloom, and flowering trees.  To be eligible you must also include an image of a French landmark, such as the Eiffel Tower, French text or a French word.

It seemed an appropriate theme since it's the beginning of April and I've always dreamed of going to Paris!  I hope that all of your entries will transport me there!  Our Frilly team has come up with some gorgeous projects!  Let's take a look...

********Week 1 Post********
Hello Frilly & Funkie followers! Anita Houston here to bring you the new fortnightly challenge, which is "Renaissance Men".  Let's pay homage to any of the four big Renaissance Men (or Ninja Turtles...lol...just kidding) who have inspired us all at one time or another - Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello,  Raphael. Show a project depicting any one or more of their works, tell which it is, and who created it. Here are a few to get your creative juices flowing.
Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci
Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni
Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi
Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino
The Frilly part of the Design Team has really outdone themselves with these creative beauties. I know I feel totally inspired just looking at them. You have until August 7, 2012, to link up! I hope you play along!
Sue Carrington - Stamping Sue Style

Linda Coughlin - The Funkie Junkie
Inspired by Rafael's Cherubini

Tammy Roberts - Paperie Sweetness

Our challenge offers two opportunities for prizes - a random drawing for a $25 gift certificate to shop at The Funkie Junkie Boutique and a best project competition, judged by the voting of the design team members. The Funkie Favorite winner receives a winner's badge to display on their blog sidebar.  In order to qualify for a prize, you must follow the challenge requirements and provide a link back to our challenge site in your post.

Thanks again for stopping by. Be sure to stop back next Wednesday for even more inspiration from our Funkie designers!
